Comments by "Triple 9" (@Betta66) on "Schiff Calls Trump "Unpatriotic" for Defending Himself" video.
You make it sound like there aren't plenty of other reasons to call Trump unpatriotic.
1
Suggesting that someone can't be a war hero if they got captured, offering concessions to a Chinese firm found guilty of stealing American technology after China announced an investment that would benefit Trump personally, calling someone who exercised a First Amendment right to protest (nonviolently) a son of a bitch, etc.

@graverob6058 They didn't ask you, Jerry Brown.
1
@graverob6058 That's the only objection you're going to make?
1
A media with no credibility versus a president with no credibility. A match made in...heaven?
1
@davidrivera3611 By what standards?

@jimbrown563 I am very well aware that propaganda exists, both liberal and conservative. And though you might want to believe otherwise, I do try to stick to more verified news sources. You're right, though, it is important to question everything. But it can be difficult to maintain the mental acuity needed to do that when there are people in positions of authority who don't. You might disagree, but you really can't expect me to believe you've never wanted to reach through the TV, grab someone by the collar, and shout "What is wrong with you?!"

Democrats don't want open borders. You know you can just look on the DNC website and check that for yourself, right?
1
@valetineinc Name three 2020 candidates who support open borders. I can't find a damn thing.

@86BarbOmega Wasn't he a registered Democrat?

@sangriasingh2354 The economy was already doing well when Trump took office, the claim that Trump puts his constituency before foreign interests is undercut somewhat by the consequences of his tariffs (https://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/here-are-202-companies-hurt-trumps-tariffs), he wasn't a Democrat when he ran in 2016, and I find it hard to sympathize with a president being under "perpetual attack" when Trump perpetually attacked Obama for eight years with tweets that have since painted Trump as such a hypocrite that there's an entire subreddit dedicated to them. Does that answer your question, Beto O'Rourke?
1
@sirmikalus9923 I'm not so naive as to think that Obama made no missteps whatsoever. However, Styx has said the full Mueller report should be made public, and yet you're so naive as to think Barr's not-even-four-page summary of a 400 page report is enough? I'm not upset that Trump isn't a Russian spy because it isn't like Trump has an otherwise completely clean record.
1
@sangriasingh2354 Do you edgelords want me to take you seriously or not, Pete Buttigieg?
1
@traceyoung5592 Remember in 2009 when a bunch of elementary school kids sang a song about Obama and conservatives cried indoctrination? How is calling Trump a "god emperor" any better, even ironically?
1
@traceyoung5592 Jesus Fucking Christ, do you want people to take you seriously or not, Chavez?
1
@traceyoung5592 At least I cite my sources.
1
@jimbrown563 Well, since you clearly know better about what constitutes a reliable source of information, would you kindly explain what makes them biased and what you would recommend as a better alternative? Or are you content to merely call something biased and expect the conversation to end there? I've seen the sources Styx uses, like Project Veritas, a poor excuse for investigative journalism from a guy who edits hidden camera footage to support outright lies.

Tony C The video under which we're commenting was made by a guy whose channel description reads "I am God" and who has a figurine of himself giving two middle fingers while standing on the words "I Won't Back Down." And you think I'm the one who seems like a smug douche? I apologize if I come across like that, but my mentality is less that I'm better than you and more that I sometimes have trouble grasping the thought process through which Styx and his followers reach certain conclusions.

@gwarfanatik 1. I saw an interview Michelle Obama gave on her book tour where she at one point remarked on certain very vocal opponents of Barack's and said she asked him why he never "cursed those damn fools out." Barack said he wanted to set an example. So forgive me for not sympathizing with someone who apparently ran for president without being able to handle dissent like a fucking adult. 2. I've seen online articles from within the past week covering the Chinese trade war, so I'm not sure what your problem is. 3. Trump promised economic growth better than Obama's. According to The Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis, growth in 2018 was measured at 2.9 percent, the same as 2015. So the economy may be doing well, yes, but Trump definitely wants to make it seem like the economy is doing better under him than Obama. 4. Conservatives: "Some conservatives got mad about something 10 years ago so I can use it as an excuse to act like a little girl about a meme. " Also conservatives: "Trump was sued by the Justice Department for housing discrimination? Come on, that was in the past. Who still gives a shit?"
1
@valetineinc And the implication is that Trump is the better alternative? The guy who thinks windmills cause cancer?
1
Even if they believed that, what would those two things have to do with each other?
1
You mean the president that even Barr's interpretation of the Mueller report said the Russians committed election interference to help win?
1
@thumpire Not the Barr I was referring to, but okay

1
@Rose Quartz Uh...is there any chance "fake news" got to you first, Cory Booker?
1
@jimbrown563 12 Russians were charged with hacking the 2016 election and that's what bothers you? I cited two sources for a reason, but instead of the fact that even the Department of Homeland Security has said that Russia interfered in the election to help Trump win, you're hung up on the fact that I linked to the New York Times? https://www.dhs.gov/news/2016/10/07/joint-statement-department-homeland-security-and-office-director-national
1
@smithologist5272 Depending on the evidence, they could be charged with conspiracy to commit election interference.
1
@smithologist5272 "Mueller's findings came up with nothing." No, that was the conclusion made by William Barr, and Barr still wrote in his summary that Russians interfered in the election. Even Styx thinks the full report should be released. As for what Manafort did, here's how I see it. Let's say I ran for president. For whatever reason, I decided my campaign manager should be Jordan Belfort. Sure, I had nothing to do with his crimes, but I still hired him. Either I didn't know about them when I hired him (in which case, I'm terrible at conducting background checks) or I did know but didn't care.
1
@smithologist5272 Not so much guilty by association (in Manafort's case, at least) so much as needing to add an asterisk every time he says he only hires the best people.
