Two points: Over 14,000 Russian- speaking people in the eastern parts of Ukraine were killed by daily shelling from eastern Ukraine battalions BEFORE Russia went in to offer the help they REQUESTED for protection. Russia has to create a large buffer zone to protect these areas, now independent republics which have joined the Russian Federation for protection. SECOND POINT: If much of the Ukraine is left it will simply carry on fomenting trouble in the region. To the detriment of its own population as well as the entire worlds.
