  1. The West Coast of Tasmania is wild forests, tunnels, rails! It's very mountainous and very windy, with pockets of scarred landscapes from past mining and small older towns!

  3. Australia is usually all about life and maintaining life! I do appreciate it, I walk frequently and always feel safe! That was fun, and a whole new experience! One of my favourite things to do on a lazy Sunday is a slow trip around Bunnings, or an Antique Shop, a Craft shop or open Charity shop! It's never boring if you are creative and curious! 😃

  6. Very interesting Ian! I failed my first tesr because of vertigo, which caused a brain freeze!! My tester insisted on the steepest street in the area and the car was manual and borrowed, from then on the stress was high to finish perfectly! My last test was a parallel park and then a U-turn, executed beautifully in heavy rain! His last comment at the end was "any idea what windshield wipers are for"! Fail.👎

  7. Hilarious, and instructive! My mum used to cook a lot of lamb and make the mint sauce and gravy herself, it's unfortunate she didn't pass on the talent or dedication! Funny, I had hot roast lamb slices last night with roast pumpkin, cream potato and peas, cooked perfectly by the staff at the local roasts, vegetables and salads shop! I enjoyed every mouthful, I'm so glad I left it to the roast experts! 😋 I believe sheep and lamb in America is not farmed or prepared the same as in Australia and tastes somewhat different, that may be why it isn't popular there!? 🤔

I was at a quiet, clean beach like that once and walked to look at a fish struggling at the edge of the surf, just as I neared it a shark swam straight at the fish and near my foot! 😥 The fountain in Canberra is saying you need an ice cold beer now! 🍺 We're so creative! 🙆

  17. Hi Ian, Hi Daniella - what fun! 😄 My mother cooked a lot of pastries, including fabulous sausage rolls, but I very rarely bake at all! Great teamwork! Score means cut shallow nicks in the middle of the pasty a few times, it's let's out the steam, and gives the rolls a nice pattern! That's very resourceful! 😂 Hi Sydney! 🥰 (I think dad's hungry! 😃) I prefer barbecue sauce! Great first try! 🙋⭐

Have a Happy Australia Day Ian, don't forget the barby (weather permitting)! 💚💛🇦🇺 The benefit of South Australia having one large central city is that there are so many quieter places nearby to take a short break, near the sea or mountains or inland! I hope you are able to see Tasmania one day, it not only has very diverse landscapes, spectacular natural formations and the end of the world, but it also has Twilight and Southern Arora! 😲

  26. I've spent 72 hours in Melbourne twice, looks like I missed a few things! 😄 Highlights a Cake shop at St Kilda, and the Crown! My sister and niece live in Melbourne, in very different places. It's not for me, it's now a city for youth! It's not really chilled now, it's quite aggressive! 😟 In Sydney we have beautiful old historic malls and many modern shopping centres! Yes, most of Australia is clean? 👍

  29. Fascinating idea Ian, Australia does have a few structural oddities, and also some odd individuals! Some of these I've never seen or heard of! 😂 Yes, Qantas has a long history and had a good reputation, but has had some management issues! Cairns is unique! Tassie Tiger in WA, imported? Very creative people around! I've visited Wendy's Secret Garden, it has a peaceful atmosphere, and lovely place to just sit! Tasmania is spectacular! 💓👍

  30. Be prepared and aware, wherever you are traveling! In Sydney, there are around 5,000 rescues per week in summer, just on Bondi Beach - unable to swim, dehydration, alcohol, dares, ignorance! Hundreds more tourists have to be rescued by experienced volunteer hiking teams and expensive helicopters from the Blue Mountains, because they had not prepared for the environmental conditions - fitness, clothes, shoes, water, snacks! 😏

You have to hail a busdriver if it's a rarely used bus stop, the bus driver or fellow passenger can tell you when your stop is coming! Trains do have Next Stop signs and announcements! If you are parked at the Shopping Centre, you can keep adding all your shopping to save another trip to a car! Our electrical switches are safer than yours, hers are small! Smaller coins, because gold is more expensive! $24 is minimum wage, add penalties, meal breaks, leave loading, super, specific union award rates! 🙋🇦🇺

Blue Mountains, exclusive home to expensive spa hotels in those days! The Hawkesbury River is still very rugged and undeveloped! Population around 26.2m right now! 4m in 1914 when, 39% volunteered for the Empire in WW1, Spanish Flu in 1918, the Great Depression 1930s, WWII through 1940 - really tough times! Nine months on a ship originally, then 6 months! Travelling to the other side of the world, as a convict, athlete or soldier was an exercise in patience and endurance! Flights stopover in Dubai or Asia, and usually end in Perth or Sydney! 🤔👍

  45. Fabulous video, Lord Howe island is a classic must see for naturalists and walkers! For the more adventurous and the history lovers, visiting Norfolk Island is a once in a lifetime experience! It's like stepping back in time and standing in the shoes of people from another century - how Pacific island life used to be! It has the beautiful scenery, a tragic history and totally unique people and communities! 🤔
