Just back from London and 6 hours driving. 35 quid worth of diesel. Lots of heater use It's 2 celcius and I didn't have any range anxiety or refilling problems.

It's like watching a good friend doing alcoholism .you have to step back and let them come to the decision
269
They knew years ago with no laptops on planes allowed .until they made them safer
162
The twenty old mobile phones in my drawer is evident of battery driven appliances.
159
56 billion golden parachute is the ONLY thing on elon musk 's mind
98
All the bbc believers say it was a diesel
87
Like the old saying goes. The rich always pulls up the ladder behind them
80
The only use i could imagine for ev towtrucks is for quiet theft of cars at night
64
It's fucking cold here in June England
59
My son was late returning the tesla.so had to pay full day hire Because....slow charging on returning to the milk float
48
My son in london hired a tesla to come meet us in tenby wales.... He wont be doing that again. It was expensive and time consuming and instead of looking at the scenery he was looking at the screen for the next charging point.
40
My 14 year old a3 2litre diesel can fillup and drive from Herefordshire to Heathrow with a passenger and luggage. But wait theres more. I can return to Herefordshire and pick up another passenger and do it again and return to Herefordshire All on one tank of 55 litres. Put that in your elon musk pipe and smoke it
38
Yup. Geeks don't drive. Nerds think from the basement. Driving is like love. Needs constant input and maintenance and care
35
Extremely rich women buy a handbag for 20 000$ Its a show off thing
34
Yes .no point having emergency button if you're that cause of the emergency because YOU WERE distracted by the screen in first place
33
Government knows. Government doesn't care. Government gets paid irrespective of the outcome. Government are merely grubby little people taking what they can while they can.
32
I am old but I know diesel is the king of engine. I am still using my gorgeous audi a3 despite 254300 miles. I still fetch my clients who are constantly amazed at it's pulling power and the 100 mile range ...on 11 pounds sterling for diesel Diesel costs 130 pennies per litre yesterday . My tip of the exhaust system is still shiny. It's not a dirty car.
29
And that roundabout in swindon
27
85 percent of EV cars are still on the road .99 percent of ICEcars made it home
26
The bloke who replaces the humongous battery with a small hydro carbon driven electric generator to power the electric motor driven cars is going to be very very rich
24
Physics have not changed. You still get loads more diesel than petrol out of a barrel of crude
24
With an irritating smirk
22
But it gets lighter .lighter means more mileage
20
So hows elon musks 56 billion golden parachute playing out..?
19
@isaac827 exactly. The amount of tax revenue they get on cars and fuel is staggering. They'd HAVE to up the electricity bill PLUS you'd be a captive .
18
I'm getting my cv joint replaced on my audi a3 2litre diesel. Its going to cost 68 pounds.sterling.thats including the labour Its the second one in 253000 miles. The reason is the diesel engine has a lot of torque. Not nearly as much as the EV. So i can imagine the stressing of IT'S running gear. And what's that going to cost the ev owner.?
18
The tesla y model battery weight is 750 kg.the 2litr Mercedes-Benz diesel engine is typically is 200kg. So before you even get in the the car you have the equivalent of 5 adult men ALREADY in the car.
17
For the life of me I cant understand why they didn't have cassette type swap batteries filling up stations
17
And Where's boris Johnson... Playing with the golden parachute pension and offshore fund filled with kickbacks
17
I'm a petrol head.but my diesel is proof that I get performance and power and economy
16
I want one of those green jets that boris ...middle name.... net zero.... Johnson uses to fly to kiev and veniszuela and Washington
15
Markets will decide. . Mandates are so last year
15
Politics versus physics Greta versus Mike tyson
14
Ambulances are already crazy heavy vehicles. So additional 1000kg will need much bigger tyres
14
@gerbre1 must be great delivering milk
14
I live in hilly Hereford uk. I hear batteries dont like hills
13
Dilithium crystals
13
Like i said a year ago. I challenge autopilot to come to my Herefordshire in winter on a rainy night on our twisty turny potholed roads at night on a friday night when more drunks are on the road and drive safely
13
Just a daily update that my 14 year old....audi a3 diesel exhaust is still silver on the insde at the end.. Plus elon musk is a ponzi scheme manager for tesla and a defence contractor
13
They're reading the very words we're typing here using the new domestic servant called A.I.
12
@raypalmer7733 physics are physics. The roads in Hereford are getting pummelled by heavy vehicles. The pneumatic hydro pressure on wet pothole is quite fantastic. The heavier the car the bigger the damage. Typically the repaired potholes only last two months during the wet /freeze/dry winter conditions. The other thing is the EV suspension not hold up. My 200kg diesel engine is quite heavy and I've already broken 3 front coil springs. I wonder what the 750kg battery's will do to the tesla as it ages.
12
Exactly
12
I swallowed the sinker but not the hook
12
What does everything come down to..? 5 $ on the street corner up an alley. Or 5000$ in a penthouse The 2 litre diesel engine is the best engine since sliced bread. The progress in electrical engine management and platinum filter plus exhaust recirculation etc have made it unbeatable. The purchase prices and running costs are likely to be under the control of the oil baron arabs.but is that any different to the electricity suppliers..? My electricity bill doubled this last 2 years of lies about putin. Until the hydro carbons run out or they discovered the first dilithium crystals mine were going to fly drive and sail on hydrocarbons
11
@salnaturile8653 Government knows. Government doesn't care. Government gets paid irrespective of the outcome. Government are merely grubby little people taking what they can while they can.
11
Oh.I forgot.the government makes billions and billions and billions on taxing the oilbased economy.WHAT..?. PRAY TELL WILL REPLACE THAT FINANCIAL INCOME..?
10
Don't agree with the horse bit.but the crooks are going to love crippled cops
10
My 2010 audi a3 diesel has done 250 000 miles just one clutch thing and 2 drive shafts
10
I was looking for a new audi and they only make automatic transmission now. Ditto BMW and merc. So skoda or seat it is I love driving Myself
10
I've know this since ww2 U boats. Unless they shrank battery sizes by70 %and simultaneously tripled the power it was a step backwards
