  2. Considering the tesla battery weighs 750kg and the 2litr Mercedes-Benz diesel engine is typically 200 kg . You could take out the batteries and put a diesel powered generator in the tesla to run the electrical motors. And still be +- 300 kg lighter....plus soooooo much more reliable

  5. The thing with EV is that its intential. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. The concept of clean quiet cars is an honourable one. However if you want to cross a canyon you'll need a bridge. In this case you'll need a battery or dilithium crystal. Something as efficient as as what we have with a kerosene jet engine or euro7 compliant diesel engine. Whats the point of going backwards ? If I fly to Greece compared to driving from the uk its pointless. If I had to drive to Heathrow Airport from 200 miles away .I could just make it in an EV. But then id be stuck before it could charge. If I did. And always do ..drive in my diesel i get to the airport and fly away and return to the car thats still half full and ready to whisk me away home . The battery car wouldn't be ready and waiting... Lets stop kidding ourselves. Battery cars are simply not competitive. If you go watch the Olympics or Wimbledon you want to see the greatest athletes in the world.not the worst.

  26. What saddens me so much is how we waste iron. We cant make gold...BUTwe can make stainless steel. If we made all iron into stainless steel it would be a virtual gold but infinitely more valuable. Iron reinforced concrete will not last as long as the romans building for instance. If we built using the mechano set principle with nuts and bolts we could recycle buildings almost infinitely. If we built cars this way .modular.   39. Yup .even my little audi a3 has done 250 000 miles in 13 years . I still get very good mileage of 600 miles on 55 litres of diesel. Still pulls like a train . Had both front drive shafts replaced but only 380 quid.
