If you're an automatic gearbox driver youve already detached yourself from the driver experience of keeping in touch with the roads condition AND the traffic AND THE DIRECTIONS. the real world on the road is far far too complex and dynamic for a computer to react. 90 percent of the time it COULD COPE . but whats the point of ending up in hospital and bankrupt for the remaining 10 percent...?

The gap will be bridged but in its own evolution. The infrastructure is 30years away and 20 trillion. Even now if you put all the battery car on the potholes you'd get mega breakdowns.the road is still oil dependant and even if you used concrete you will get co2 excess

  29.  @ts757arse  absolutely correct .those extra milliseconds to confirm the touchscreen are fatatal in real time driving .I've driven at least a million miles in my life. Totally experienced. But on twisty Road and trying to navigate a touchscreen it feels an absolute age to get a response.by the time your eyes have realigned you're practically off the road. I've seen an extra lot of hole in the hedge lining our Hereford roads and I attribute that to text driving.I drove as a passenger in a tesla and that dash was screaming danger ..especially with oncoming traffic

  30. Yup. I keep harping on 750 kg batteries in the y model tesla. The roads are stilloil based.so that not going away .concrete is far too expensive they also make a hell of a lot of co2 to produce. The other thing i keep banging on is the rally aspect. Traditional cars are vigorously tested in rallies and formula one . To buy a car is the third biggest purchase most people ever make. So they want the best car that will give them the best value. Haven't seen a tesla in british touring car races or the paris to dakar rally. My dad bought a Peugeot decade's ago BECAUSE it won the african safari. I inturn bought an audi BeCAUSEit had the first quattro and won lemans and its been a fantastic little servant. 14 years old and still going very strong with 253000 miles onthe clock. Give me a call All Tesla owners in 10 years.

  37. Until we find a source of dilithium crystals the hydrocarbons the king of the universe. I am just so happy with my a3 audi that despite a bit of rust will still impress my 3 passenger with the acceleration and economic use the 2litre diesel engine. I can still drive to Heathrow terminal TWICE with passenger plus luggage doing 600 miles range with 55 litres of diesel. This is in a 13 year old audi A3.....!
