3 years later and this BMW-driving and Louis Vitton handbag-wearing fisherfolks-warrior has not changed a bit.

Into? What is the polarization?

@haveaseatplease He appeared multiple times on Youtube recordings of invitations to institutions or lessons he given in the UK and across Europe. Suggestion: Search for "Danny Dorling" on Youtube. He rarly directly speaks about Brexit because Brexit is a result not a cause but this avoids him being dragged into the divisiveness and political nature of Brexit. And he is Author or Co-Author of a couple books about Britain's Society. I found out the more different angles I heared of him the clearer the picture becomes. I had a bad thirst of wanting to understand Brexit I listented to months of material, LBC Recordings, Youtube videos but only after listening to Danny Dorling the thirst subsided.

Hoping more for Mar-a-Lago.

I have an idea on this: Remember how the Tories had the idea of Singapore on the Thames? Why not make a reverse on that. The EU using the UK to circumvent Trumps tariffs on the EU. I'm not sure how strongly the US checks rules of origin/paperwork but when they are as weak as in Britain I see an opportunity here.
6
Did Trump really interrupted Starmer in the 2nd Press Conference with a "enough of this"?
6
No Ali. Elon is not a genius. The last weeks as Americas shadow president have shown that very clearly.
6
I'm surprised how he reacts to the topic of Russia and what he done with RT. It is possible he get funds from them?
5
It was a weird event. Showing who has the trousers on in the Whitehouse and humiliating Trump at the same time. ... And messing it up with clumsy social skills for everyone to see with himself, his son and Trump and very self-denigrating answers.
5
Because he is using words he doesn't know.
5
EU dropped this market regulation anyway which going effective this year so sorry this is no Brexit benefit. And as other posters already mentioned it was not really an issue anyway.
5
Because it is the biggest country in Europe and could be excellent for the economy. They also have a ton of resources Europe desperatly needs and produce a lot of agriculture. It would be very shortighted to let it go to Putin so he can exploit it.
5
@chatham43 "your" you mentioned this word. I didn't. And there can only be one thing true and one reality.
5
Why do we constantly stumble on ties to Putin if you dig deep enough? I mean how can that be that in different countries with different parties, different political systems and people involved you dig deep enough and find a link to Putin.
5
It's not enough. Companies who import make bussiness decissions not political one. They use whatever is cheaper and you will not make them volunteering to boycott something. This is what tariffs are for to force bussiness to chose differently.
5
I disagree. Lies have to be called out or they become the perceived truth. Also if you contradict yourself or have logical inconsistencies. Way too man people let others just keep getting away with bs.
4
@bert454 When you lost your job or livelyhood with your small bussiness company, fishery or farm you see it a little different. Besides: Why are you complaining? You got what you voted for. Why are defending? Do you want to tell us you don't like what you voted for?
4
The Euro has more or less the same value as during it's inception. The Pound however lost 40% since 2007.
4
Don't look up ^^
4
We change it quicker than we and nature can adapt to it. What usually takes tens if not hundreds of thousands of year we do in less than 100 years. Therefore everything gets extreme and ecological system cannot adapt this quickly and simply die out.
4
Actually 77 mio (49.9%). However 90 mio did not voted and 50.1% not voted for Trump. And America has 115 mio other people who are inelligable to vote like children.
4
@DavidBennell That's statistics. The scaryiness comes from the potential consequences when you get lucky or should I say unlucky in this case. Worst case a bigger city or even the ocean causing an enormous tsunami can impact millions of people.
3
We have to do something about misinformation and disinformation because we losing the war on this. For a decade already and it reaches a critical point when it destroys society.
3
This is even worse than Brexit because of the free trade agreement with the EU there are largly 0% tariffs on everything. Just the fact that there is suddenly a border and checks and waiting times and paperwork already costed the UK 3% GDP. Imagine there would be 25% on top of everything.
3
You missed the Brexit-Calls of 2016-2020.
3
And your plan is?
3
I kind of admired the stamina of the caller. Most resignate much sooner.
3
Come back in 4 years. Labours 5 year term has just begun.
3
Come one LBC stay straight on the facts! Maybe the SNP fell 1 seat short of their own absolute majority, but there is an absolute majority for independence since the Greens a pro independence as well.
3
Check reality. If not I have some swamp-land and a bridge to sell to you.
3
Because they want to reach Britain not France. And because the Brits always say "That's our channel". And because if there were legal ways to reach britain there were no boats.
3
If you still cannot see that you are one of the people James is talking about.
3
Nice example how quickly you can be proven wrong. You make a statement claiming to speak for everyone and the 1st response disproves you. Careful what you write. And don't be so arrogant to speak for others. You don't like him noted but thats about all you can speak for.
3
Greens are Pro-Independence as well. With the Greens they have a clear absolute majority for a referendum.
3
The call was a two-parter and in the first part I had the feeling this guy just needed a little human outside interaction, some "normality". I'm not sure he was even interested in what the protest was all about only about the opportunity to get among humans. A feeling which is shared among most people, but doing this now too early is risking it all and most likey delaying everything just longer. If you step back a little those people are actually protesting against the virus-situation as a whole. And since it's so nuts they pretend other reasons. It happens in central europe as well. People have enough of Covid - a shared feeling. However waiting just a little bit and allow everyone to vaccinate first isn't too much to ask is it? When the virus is gone and the ristrictions still there THAN they can demonstrate about Freedoms reduced but not while people still dying.
3
Do you want to spend 10 bn £ now to expand the military or 1000 bn £ when Russia invades NATO?
2
Even if manufacturing is returning partially to America you still need resources or components and then these are under tariffs. The problem just moves down the supplychain. And then the problem is can you really manufacture cheaper in America with the higher wage costs than e.g. Vietnam or China. So prices might eventually go up even or maybe especially if you produce in America. Either way the consumer gets higher prices.
2
Other countries had Lockdown and Government Spending as well. And also global problems and inflations ... why is Britain still the worst among the G7?
2
Trump not makes peace he makes surrender. So happened in Afghanistan. Peace by losing. Peace by giving up. This is what Trump does because he is a coward himself.
2
Yeah it took 100,000 year to change last time. But now we do the same in less than 100 years and you don't see the problem? Besides melting ice isn't even the real issue. The surplus energy in the oceans is. It's the engine for our wheater and this engine is now in overdrive thanks to us making all weather more extreme and expanding the water in the oceans leading to eroding coast lines.
2
Mr. Salmond: Who is financing your party so quickly? Are you payed by British Elite to Split the SNP Vote?
2
@jamescarroll3455 To be honest. After the interview I would say he gets money from Russian Oligarchs.
2
That's okay everybody is entitled to an opinion. But there is a reason this guy is on weekends.
2
Please explain how Pro-Trumpers can be Anti-Establishment and Anti-Globalist with 13 billionaires now in Trumps cabinett and the biggest globalist of them all Musk in government as well? THIS is when up is down.
2
Bravo. Continue like that and the Scots run for the hills. Like ALL the other colonies of ... England.
2
He also has no power. So him saying anything is already more than he have to because his role as opposition is to scrutinize government policy ... but there is none they still squabble about who will make life worse for working people and who is actually in charge.
2
There is a very clever saying which is I think completly ignored even by this expert: "Prepare for the worst. Hope for the best." They still assume some kind of historical loyalty or tradition here but Trump is breaking all this for his ego and personality flaws. This is not a rational, logical or even honest being not even to himself. And I think these experts have not quite considered the worst scenarios yet because it appears unthinkable for them. And yet every day Trump moves the insanity further even if it hurts America.
2
Germans changed nothing the law is the same. But the UK leaving EU jurisdiction opened that loophole. Somebody probably not thought about this while doing the exit-deal ... or perhaps some did.
2
Have you noticed how she tried to use "Brexit" as a shield?
2
This is real problem. Well-off people who living in 98% white neighbourhoods never seen an immigrant except on TV, never read about one except in the Daily Mail, never heared about on except on phoneins ... and which have been convinced everyone not looking like them, living like them and speaking like them will be "coming over the hills soon" to take what is theirs and end their way of life.
