  3. I believe I could watch you for hours as you always see something that most people wouldn't see. I know it must be harder than we all think it is but you make it all seem so effortless and interesting. I miss the English weather and you really sailed through some of it last week.   4. People always tell me when things go wrong that everything will be alright. Giving the engineer a cuppa Tea might help him concentrate.   5. I was concerned you may get a tangled prop in the unused canals and you did. Maybe a dredging boat should go take a look at these area's and clean them up so they could be used again by many Narrow boats. You were brave and we all appreciate the lovely footage you filmed for our benefit. Don't be pulling heavy wet carpets out of the canal Vanessa , let Hubby do it. Thanks for a lovely Vlog.

  6. I believe this is the first video I've seen you get something for yourself , nice Sofa Vanessa , you deserve it. Zephr didn't like that Brush did she and I guess we wouldn't like it used on us either. Well you did what you always do and made me wish I was back home again Vanessa . I always look forward to seeing how happy your life makes you and always grateful for you making these Vlogs for us all. By the way a tunnel that long would scare me without a spotlight.I wonder how they lit their way in the days before a good torch.

  7. Kinver reminded me in some ways of Matlock as they both are quite hilly with great views. Matlock is in a valley but equally beautiful. Thanks for taking the time to make these Video's Vanessa.

  8. Some Girls chased the Beatles and some Girls chased Actors but Vanessa chases old ships and Danny was a wonderful example. I loved how you sped ahead under the closing swing bridge without fear. I think you enjoyed the making of this Vlog more than some others. I grew up on Corn Flakes in Uk because Mum said Coco Pops had too much sugar , and now I'm Diabetic so thanks Mum for protecting me . That was a good climb for a good reason you did Vanessa and it showed up how much you thought of your favorite poet. Maybe most of the bad weather is over for a while.   11. Hatton Row Terrace Houses. Another place you've shown me I'd like to live. People don't realize how wonderful some places would be to live in because living in a lovely place would I hope help you be happier with your life. I know England is full of little villages that I imagine are the best places to live and you are always showing us some of the most beautiful places on your travels. I'm Homesick again Vanessa. That was a special vlog for me as you reminded me of my homeland maybe too much. I think it was the bluebells you saw that made me a bit too emotional as it took me right back to my childhood. be safe Vanessa.

  12. I can't think of any storms when I lived in Uk like the ones you suffered lately. So your a busy Lady , busier than I ever realized, so I will try and keep my comments concerning questions to a minimum in future. You need a clip fastener on your chimney Vanessa but I hope you found it. I used to go by a place when cycling with my Brother close to Derby named Denby Pottery Est 1809 which is still producing but Wedgewood is on the next level I guess. Hopefully that is the last of the bad weather for a while for you. Your smile always makes me smile.

  17. Another pretty as a picture vlog Vanessa. I knew you'd work out that bridge that didn't raise at the initial try. More information and instructions would help the unwary. I believe you see more variety of Birds in one afternoon than I used to see in my long walks through the countryside as a younger Man in England , Mansfield ,Teversal , Pleasley on the walkways were the old Rails had been removed. I cycled mainly. They do not sell Custard Creams, Hob Nobs, Digestive, Jaffa Cakes etc in America so I really miss England more after this episode. You seem to have a wild heart that welcomed danger during that fight with the wind , but you came through it all with the smile of a happy teenager. Maybe you'll find differing wildlife on this new stretch of Canal. Zephr gets her determination form you I think , either way it's amazing how she knows so much of what you are saying to her.   22. If I had the money I'd like to own a Narrow Boat and a House. Preferably with a little Pier on the back yard leading to my Boat in the Canal at the bottom of the Garden. Yes ! I don't ask for much. I'm too old to change my ways and I might want to live alone if I were to live on a Narrow Boat which may not go down too well with certain people. I can see you Love the life you are leading as you tell us so with your smile. I'm happy for you and happy you bring us a glimpse into your life with your wonderful Video's.   24. The Anderton Boat Lift is another thing I've never seen Vanessa. I never realized how innovative and inventive our English ancestors were and Edwin Clark is someone I now have to read about . The English have invented the most important devices that mankind use. I think Zephyr's priority on her Bucket list will be Biscuits followed by stick chewing.   29. This was a wonderful video Vanessa and the viaduct you mentioned reminded me of the one that ran through the Town I grew up in which was Mansfield in Nottingham. You tired Zephyr out and she was really enjoying the heat from your wood burner. How far in miles do you normally walk Zephyr . I used to walk my little Dog years ago when I lived in the Uk on the disused railway lines that had been made into cycle track around a place called Teversal. The Teversal trail was near a place called Skegby which was near Mansfield and there was an area of more than 30 mile square or so you could cycle or walk and maybe get lost in. Danish Shortbread Vanessa , something else I can't find over here so I am truly lost. Wonderful Video young Lady.

  30. The Pipit has found a habitat with the best views. my Brother used to go rambling in the Pennines when he was younger and a bit of Potholing too as a sport I'd guess. That was a magical path that led to the letter box Vanessa , I'm sorry Zephyr lost her Ball but I imagine the chews made up for it. I watch those Narrowboat sales ads and Boat sales on the tube so I can see how much second hand ones cost. I see the English weather last week was as changeable as it always was.   31. The problem with healthy food is we eat it so quickly as it's not very filling. Then it's back to the Biscuits. I can see Zephr is a very well behaved Dog and she can read your mind.   32. I remember Swizzles sweets but never knew the name of the company. I always thought Parma Violets were sweets for girls but I used to buy them. Don't tell anyone OK! Some of there sweets came in a little assorted bag we called a Lucky bag he says giving his age away. I knew we had Bats as we had them around some local reservoirs. I only know the sound the Vampire Bat makes , it sounds like " I Bid you Velcome ". Another field of Bluebells Vanessa and another trip back to my childhood. I always thought our smallest Bird was the Wren. Thank you for a very Happy Vlog , I think you smiled all the way through it.

  34. You must own quite a few wildlife and plant life literature books Vanessa. I think this Vlog is the first time I've heard you say you didn't recognize a plant , the Lichen. Only plant I did recognize was the snowdrop . After seeing every one of your vlogs I wish I had taken more notice and at least kept a Journal and photographed wildlife and everything else when I had the chance.   37. Freckles the Blackbird and his Lady friend Frickles. I have a distant memory of Parky Cake as a kid . I think the Lady next door who was a wonderful Cook used to make it for us when we were growing up. My Mum couldn't cook a pair of socks. I think Zephyr would have been happy not sharing that Potato Vanessa. Maybe the weather will improve so you can be back on your travels soon. I went to Yorkshire one time when I was at school on a day trip but I never returned as an adult. Although it might have been York Museum . It's too long ago for me to remember.   42. You handle stressful situations better than I do young Lady. Zephyr didn't fancy Bulldog Bill one little bit , maybe it wasn't Bill , more like Winston. Maybe will a little more tweaking of the engine it will run smoother. I know it must be a hassle to worry about the engine. Most people in the World are not trying to help to keep the Earth clean like you Vanessa. At least you tried to use a less pollutant emitting fuel. Well done for even trying.   43. Is your Narrow Boat warm enough if you keep the stove going. I recall working outside as a teenager in freezing snow in a place the name of which I can't remember in England. Those freezing days seemed common when I was young but less so as I got older. Zephyr is like most Dogs , they do not like coats. She soon forgot she had it on it seemed. Loved the Fairy's and the weeds in wire ,don't remember what they were called, we used to blow the stems off as kids. My Dad use to tell me every stem was a Fairy. I know in America they use a lot of English town and City names for there own. I miss English Biscuits with my Tea and the ones you had looked really good.   47. I never miss your video's Vanessa although I am always late or the last. Another time you've shown me places I've never been before. Shows how much you miss just being in towns or Cities. I've never known people like you , that get so excited to see a Bird or Insect , Flower ,and I think that's the best part of watching your vlogs.   49. Never heard of the term Bird Murmuration until I heard you talk about it. Has anyone worked out whether or not these formations of flying can make the Birds warmer or not or if it's just a instinctive thing the Birds practice. People were I am located shoot or desire to shoot any wildlife like the Deer you photographed. I always had a bag of sweet as a kid and licorice was part of it. Then you made your own Chocolate drink and made me crave some Hot Chocolate too. Hope it gets warmer for you soon Vanessa. I think you are right Zephyr seems to dislike her coat , almost like she thinks been a bad girl or something. Loved your Vlog Young Lady.

  50. I've never heard of that bird Siskin Vanessa. It looked colourful enough to appear to be a Budgie. You were lucky to get down the Canal with the speed of those Currants which are a lot faster than Sultanas. How long did your Grandmother stay with you , she looked happy in the Pub but not as happy as you were. I've noticed a shyness to you every time you sit down with your Tea and Biscuit's to draw and write your verse. I will always smile when you get that look on your face as I think that is the real Vanessa. Do you make your own Biscuits ? You should make a video about your baking or recipes.
