Spacex is constructing rockets in open field. The heavy inspection old space is doing is to inflate the cost plus contract. Pressure test and cryo test will reveal manufacturing defect.

@Xianfaquanli This is not true only numbers that are powers of 2 are guaranteed to drop to the 4-2-1 loop. For example number 6 rise to 16 which is a power of 2 before it drops down to the 4-2-1 loop. We do not have a proof that all numbers will encounter a power of 2 in it's sequence.

That is the difference between random and chaos. Chaos have predictable structure or predictable unpredictability while random is completely unpredictable or unpredictable unpredictability. A coin toss is completely fine giving you 10 consecutive heads that you would not predict a likely outcome.
8
You can divide with zero you just need to adopt a different algebra where dividing by zero makes sense. There are two ways of doing this the first one is having a point of infinity where +∞=-∞. The other way is a lot weirder and you need to modify the distributive property of multiplication over addition.

AES is quantum resistant so not everything recorded is instantly vulnerable. They need to find the AES key from that mountains of recorded data before they can decrypt things. The way we currently use encryption is use symmetric encryption for the message and asymmetric encryption for key exchange.

@melissahill7930 did you not watch the video? There is order even in chaos they are called attractors. You just need to move past single simulation. Do thousands of simulation each one having slightly different intial condition to get a glimpse of this attractor. The very first example of chaotic equation draw a butterfly shape attractor. That butterfly is completely predictable and fundamental property of that specific chaos.

@ChrisSmithy I don't know about Relativity. But Spacex's Superdraco engine is 3d printed. The combustion chamber and nozzle is one 3d printed piece and they are flying those engines to the ISS with astronauts on board. There are a lot of video on the test firing of the Superdraco engine. So the strength of a 3d printed part is not really a question because we have a working example what matters is the design.

How does this work. If I open 50 boxes then I can no longer open the 51st box that has my number. If I open 49 boxes then the 49nth box points to the 50th box not the 51st where my number is hidden and I don't know the address of the 51st box for me to open directly after the 49th box.

@leif1075 It is very necessary to keep the property neg(0)=0. In compliment operation you have comp(b0000)=b1111. The fix is to add b0001 and ignoring the carry overflow. So comp(b0000)+b0001=b0000 now you have an operation that is exactly the same as negation.
3
@leif1075 What you suggested is possible but not hardware efficient. You will have trouble doing mix operations because negative numbers needed to be handled by a different hardware circuit and the positive numbers by a different hardware then you have too add a lot of hardware circuits to handle doing mix operations. Basically you need hardware for (-x)+(-y), (-x)+y, x+(-y), x+y. Then you also need hardware for (-x)-(-y), (-x)-y, x-(-y), x-y. Using 2's compliment all this hardware requirement is reduce to x+y, and the compliment(x) hardware.

@rockets4kids Spacex is now reliably sending astronauts to the ISS. Boeing could not even get near the ISS. Inspection is subject to the judgement of human inspector. Testing are more objective measure of quality of work either it passes on your test criteria or it does not. That is why more pressure test, cryo test, fire test instead of more inspection. You don't need to inspect every weld when you know the entire thing can withstand a 150% pressure test.

If the circuit is broken then the bulb turns on and off a couple times as the electric field bounces on the edge until the field stabilizes then the bulb completely turns off.

@nicolasbertin8552 In mathematics everything is about setting something to zero. Even 1+1 is proven with the axiom $(N)+ 0=$(N).
2
It does not make sense for house insulation since you can just have thicker walls to get similar insulation characteristic at a significantly cheaper price. Aerogels advantage is it is lighter and less bulky which is not needed for house insulation.
2
@cherriberri8373 The principle of least action is true no facts were violated.
2
It was briefly mentioned in the video. P-adic was invented because of the definition of absolute value. There are only three definitions where the required relations of absolute value works and P -adic number system is one of them.
2
@matsv201 Computer chips are already hybrid. SRAM that are use in caches are analog circuits.
2
@tristanridley1601 They did not fail to solve the equation they found only two solutions so far. These are not your algebra equations. Most of the time a solution does not exist you need to search parameters to force the equation to have a solution. It's not a limitation of the person it is a limitation of current mathematics.
2
Solaroid444 They have test fired 3D printed combustion chamber those things need to be very strong to hold together at extreme temperature and pressure not to mention there is cryogenic fluid running on the outside for cooling. Mig welding will not stand up to something like that. As they said proper custom designed material can make 3D printed metal stronger.

@SolidSiren This is the wrong conclusion. Proper interpretation should be that politically charge subjects are independent of people's numeracy. You are forcing an assumption that the numeracy correlation works in all subjects. But the study clearly shows that some subjects have no correlation to numeracy. Numerate people are not doing worse they are doing about the same with non-numerate people when the study subject involves politics. The study has a subtle lead by introducing the cream study first. Deceiving you that numeracy correlation is the norm and then pulled a wrong conclusion with the second study where numeracy correlation is false. The deception is subtle designed to fool everyone unless you are familiar with step by step proof in mathematics.

@leif1075 basically it is an operation that swaps 1 into 0 and 0 into 1. This is a very cheap operation in terms of logic circuits and the operation preserves the order of negative number so for example the compliment of 4 which is b0100 becomes b1011 if you add 1 (b0001) then the result is b1100 which is the compliment of 3 (b0011). This correspond to (-4)+1=(-3). The compliment operation is an analog to negation with the problem of having two zeroes that is fix by adding one when doing proper negation.

@uhmidk7 No you are blinded by "better than sorry" bias. Pressure testing and Cryo testing should reveal the manufacturing defect better than inspection. Pressure testing is objective measure specially if you add 50% safety margin in the testing. So do 1.5x of maximum pressure then any defect should result into a test failure. Inspection depends a lot on the thoroughness of the human inspector so there is a lot more human factor involve so the result is actually less conclusive than just doing 1.5x pressure test and cryo test. Doing multiple pressure, cryo test and static fires are enough validation and don't need expensive human inspection which should only be needed when things fail during testing.

Sorry to break it to you but we already know that the pieces will never be complete. That is the whole point of Gödels incompleteness theorem. There will always be questions that cannot be answered.
2
NaN 89 They have proven that it cannot be solve. Look up incompleteness theorem. A computer analog to this is the halting problem. But mathematicians have proven the most general form using abstract logic.
2
The lower loop does not matter. You are doing 1-p where p is the probability of all the loops length greater than 50. You only count the higher loops and then subtract their sum from 100% probability.
1
2's compliment is truncated 2-adic.
1
Vacuum bottle insulation is still better than aerogel.
1
@Dominus_Potatus Then you have a THICC thermos.
1
They are all infected that is why they work together. If I remember correctly Dark Archon has the mind control ability. I use to play with my goal being to be able to produce all the units of all the race and there is a trick to do that by selecting a specific starting race.
1
Do you even understand what 0.99repeating represent. For example if you have a cake what does a 0.999... cake look like? What about a 0.999... cow? Many people think that numbers are absolute truth but in reality numbers are just a bunch of nothings.
1
@Gábor There is even a term for it lazy evaluation. You only compute what you needed and forget about the rest. This is even formalized in lamda calculus where lazy evaluation is required.
1
If I was presented that data I will say it is fake because the control group has less number then the experimental group. Why would you design your experiment with a very obvious bias like that.
1
@EebstertheGreat Diamond also breaks. Hardness measure is not about toughness but scratch resistance. There is a different measure for toughness which is the amount of energy needed for permanent deformation.
1
@lord_woodhaven6426 The hardness level of glass is between 6 and 7. And yes even Gorilaa glass is between 6 and 7. But Hardness is a measure of scratch resistance not toughness. Gorilla Glass is a lot tougher and slightly harder than regular glass
1
@norwegiansmores811 transparent aluminum is just sapphire and we use it for watches
1
@EebstertheGreat Tungsten Carbide is also harder than diamond what's your point.
1
@EebstertheGreat An opaque carbon base amorphous material is also not glass. Otherwise Acrylic should be called glass at least acrylics are transparent.
1
@EebstertheGreat Acrylics are also amorphous solid.
1
@EebstertheGreat plastic bottles are also amorphous so they are also glass bottles.
1
That would involve tensor math. That is like asking an explanation of orbital mechanics in terms of general relativity and without using the fictional force called gravity.
1
We deliberately and forcibly made infinity work. Mathematicians forcibly declared that infinity exist as one of the fundamental axiom and the reason is because the concept of infinity is useful even if working with it is problematic.
1
Gravity is not real. It is the result of object moving along the curvature of space time. Good luck understanding orbital mechanics without ever using a fictional force like gravity. I suggest brushing up on tensor calculus before studying the motion of apple falling from a tree using only "real forces".
1
@volbla Relativity is all about frame of reference. Sequence of events differ base on your frame of reference. You need to be flexible since problems can be simplified by transforming your frame of reference and sometimes problems become unsolvable without reference transformation.
1
I have just recently watch a pbs spacetime video on how to test many worlds interpretation. It involves replacing the cat in the schrodinger's cat experiment with yourself and having 100 radioactive atoms instead of one. Any decay will release the poison killing yourself. If you survive this suicide experiment then you can be reasonably sure with more than 30 sigma confidence that many worlds is correct.
1
It's called Two's compliment and this how computers represent negative numbers internally.
1
For mathematicians mathematics is about exploration. Visiting unknown lands and delving on unexplored dungeon. Their motivation is trying new things and seeing where it gets them.
1
@peterpeterson4800 It can be done but you will need to do more math than what you reduce by processing in analog. Cellphone technology uses a lot of noise reduction and error correction on analog signals. The math becomes very complicated very quickly.
1
@HazyHerbivore You will need to do more math removing interference in your results than what you gain doing multiplication in analog.
1
@antytrend A lot. this how some people can taste sound or hear colors.
1
@matsv201 You can design a digital SRAM using latches but that uses to many transistor. The 6 transistor SRAM cell design is analog in operation. The process when reading is to precharge a drive capacitor and have a sense amplifier detect which line is discharging faster.
