What Biden needs to do, is have a little sit down with Manchin, and mention how it would be terrible if the DoJ decided to lead the investigation into his daughter. Just imagine her spending many years behind bars. That would be such a shame. If only there was something Manchin could do that would ensure certain influential people would look on his daughter's case more kindly. Who knows, maybe simply being a "team player" might help avoid unfortunate endings for her.

Meanwhile many Americans travel to Canada to get their higher education, because not only are many of the Canadian schools of better quality, but it also costs a fraction of what it does in the US. A two year college course in the US might cost someone $20,000-50,000. Same course in Canada costs about $2000-5000. You get the same qualification, vastly less cost. A friend of mine was going to go to med school in NY, but was looking at about $50,000-100,000 in loans (at least) a year before he could graduate and be a licensed doctor. Same course in a university in Ottawa cost him a quarter of that. Naturally he graduated from Ottawa, then moved back to NY to start his practice (after residency and all that). It's almost like America doesn't want people to get a good education.

  25. If affirmative action is bad, because it's giving a handful of people a chance to get an education they'd normally be denied... Then isn't legacy admission a horrific thing? Isn't buying your way into a school a terrible thing? Because if someone can go to a school just because their parent did, or grandparent... or they can simply buy admission... then isn't that taking away the opportunity from countless people who would otherwise have EARNED those spots? It's funny, because whenever someone brings up the idea of doing away with all of that, making legacies and paid access invalid, so that only those with the best grades get to attend... suddenly all the rich white folks get up in arms about it. Claiming that's unfair, and would hold them back. Isn't that simply admitting that the ONLY reason they're in the school is because they know someone or had the money to buy their way in, rather than actually being smart enough to attend? If affirmative action is giving some people an advantage, why not make it purely based on academics? Oh, that's right, because all those hard working minorities have better grades, and that would flip things around where white people would be DEMANTING affirmative action to allow them access to higher education.

  30. I used to live in Montreal. Yes, they ALL speak English, it's just that French is their primary language. All signs are in French and English, whereas in the rest of Canada signs are in English and then French. That said, many Quebecers will pretend not to speak English to be assholes, because... you know... they're French. But there's no way you'd know that Quebec isn't part of Canada.

  34. "Go see your doctor" is such a loaded comment in America. Where countless people CANNOT AFFORD TO. Which is disgusting beyond belief. I know plenty of people who don't see a doctor because doing so would be the difference between them paying rent for a couple of months or not. Meanwhile, I'm in Canada. I've had a bit of a headache the last couple of days. I went in to see a doctor (not my family doctor, as it was after hours). Walked in, said I need to see someone, waited maybe 5 minutes for the next available doctor. Went in, got checked out, had some tests done, she said it was likely a damaged nerve cluster. She wrote out a prescription for some medication to help resolve the issue, giving me enough tablets for a couple of weeks (though I'm already feeling better). I went to the pharmacy, got the prescription filled. Went home. The whole process didn't cost me a cent. America needs Medicare For All. Until the US gets a REAL healthcare system set up like every other democracy (and countless other countries)... it will always be a medical dark ages where people are self medicating and quacks are selling snake oil.

His buildings are roach infested death traps. None of his properties have passed inspection in YEARS. He simply bribes people to keep them open. He has run out of American banks to get loans from and owes almost $500 million to a Russian bank and many times that to China. So yes, he is a complete and utter failure in absolutely every regard.
