It is fundamentally incompatible with democracy for the simple reason that MARKET capitalism is built for those WITH money to be the only ones who MAKE the money, and that money is used to create that corruption you speak of so they can take MORE money, and thus be the only ones who can make the rules. Its not "free" speech if it's only for sale to the highest bidder, and buddy....you can't afford to have a say.

  34. I take serious issue with the legal system treating recordings as hearsay. Two years ago my '09 Triumph was stolen in Oregon, and found in Washington. Guy was caught, and laid out an argument that he knew me and gave him permission to use it, and we had a falling out. Obviously, I didn't know the guy. But the neighbors camera caught it, and neither I, the DA, or the defense knew about the video file until the day before I was going to testify. Therefore, being presented late, on the day of trial. DA told the defense and guy changed his plea to guilty. But if they had called it 'hearsay', he would have had a bogus defense.

  36. @ The price of gas is tanking (pun intended), and lines at gas stations are disappearing, but that's entirely down to the faster adoption of hybrids, PHEVs, and EVs. Just count the number of freakin' Toyota Hybrid RAV-4's everywhere that go unnoticed. It always starts that way, the OPEC guys raise prices to save their revenues when gas sales go down, then when that doesn't work, they desperately lower oil prices to entice people away from economy vehicles. We saw this in the 80s too

They weren't thrilled to show up to vote at all for Biden. Something the DNC should have admitted sooner. Stop pretending it's about registered party minions 'switching their vote'. It never is, and never was.

Big guy, wore combat boots for a living, obviously I must be her personal thug. Pulled this crap all the time. Hence the "Ex". Last time was in line for the kids to do the Mall Santa photo thing. Decided the lady and her kids in front cut her off, and BOTH of them tried to rope me and other husband into a brawl for their 'honor'. We stepped out and got a beer at Chilis. Wife punched me in the car after. We divorced about 9 months later. A tiny, 105 lb battleaxe with a princess complex.

Except that I live in Portland, a town literally targeted by a POTUS who sent his fave gestapo fed goons in unmarked vehicles to grab people off the street for 'looking' wrong. Wearing black hoodies. Which they did, with relish. Streets reeked of the cherry and pepper smell of riot agents because people wouldn't vote for or verbally kiss that man's arse to his satisfaction. That was an extremely local issue created by the guy at the top.

Does no one remember Shutterstock laying bare their theft shenanigans when they mistakenly tried to enjoin the original photographer of a pic Shutterstock misappropriated without realizing they were dealing with the creator? A creator who never gave them one iota of authority to use his image. That was when it became clear they simply mine the internet for meida and lay claim to things that aren't theirs.
