  4. Obama had a Democrat supermajority and gave us a Heritage foundation healthcare plan. He should have been able to get a public option at the very minimum and really if he had pushed it Medicare for All. Any Democratic who wouldn't have backed that plan have been pressured. If Obama told them vote for the public option or I will personally make sure your primary opponent crushes you any Democrat would have fallen in line. What Democrat would want to face the voters with the Democratic president comming out an campaigning for your challenger? There where ways he could have and should have done more. Look what the GOP has done in 2 years with a one vote majority.

It is why he pass legislation requiring emergency rooms to treat anyone who walks in regardless of their ability to pay. Unfortunately that legislation also requires that people who can't afford healthcare get the most expensive care our society offers then file medical bankruptcy. Skyrocketing costs in our medical system with missed payments. If the ACA is brought down the GOP will finally prove there is no caplistist solution for healthcare and the USA will be forced to face the same reality all other developed countries have faced same implement single payer healthcare. Thus you drive more voters to Bernie Sanders as that is his signature issue.

  8.  Marilyn Reallon  in 2019 we added $18 billion to the military budget. So we pay to expand out public education system from K-12 to K-16 the same way we paid for the expanded military budget because it is the same cost. The question is do we value education for our youth as much as we value the military industrial complex? In 2008 we spent 1 trillion dollars to bail out the wealthiest people in this country while forcing the working class home owners through the foreclosure process. So we pay for college debt forgiveness the same way we paid to bailout the banks. The question is do we value our youth being able to afford to buy a home as much as we value the wealthy bank owner? Medicare for All is proven to save money compared to our current for profit healthcare system. So the question is how do we pay for our current more expensive system which is responsible for 66% of bankruptcies in the USA?

  14.  @VMonkies  thanks for the clarification. It is sometimes hard to follow these discussions. I assumed you where saying he would resign because like Nixon he would be free and clear. Yes the next president could pardon him. Interesting fact Ford wasn't the VP when the scandal broke. Theodore Agnew resigned allowing Nixon to choose Ford before resigning himself. So for the Republicans to repeat the Nixon solution to impeachment processing Pence would actually resign first and Trump would select someone as VP that the GOP could claim was free from this scandal to be the VP who pardons him. Matt Gaetz would be at the head of the line for people willing to be remembered as the man who pardoned trump. How is that for scary? But I suspect they would have to act before Nancy Pelosi actually starts the official impeachment hearing.

  16. Talk to them about how Biden has a history of fighting to cut Medicare and Social security. That seems to be the argument that has convinced most older people that Biden is not their candidate. The reality is what you are seeing isn't race based I see the same thing with older white voters. They have simply spent the last 40 years listening to the Clition era centrist corporatist propaganda media. But when faces with the reality that Biden has actively fought against the social safety net some of them come around to Bernie.

They are usually made in reference to his recognizing that the state of Israel has not treated the people of Palestine humanity. Bernie Sanders has been out spoken about the fact that the United States provide foreign aid to Israel without conditions related to the treatment of Palestinians. I completely agree with him on the topic. But the current accepted group think is to attack anyone who speaks out against the right wing government of Israel as antisemitic or a self hating jew because the right wants to put the government of Israel above criticism. It is a bad idea. Also if you think Biden is able to get it through now when he couldn't get it with a supermajority you are dreaming. The path to Medicare for all is to simply get politicians wbo have the balls to lower the eligibility age of Medicare to 0. Simple and done we have a Medicare system passed decades ago we just need to lower the eligibility to cover 100% of the population not only the elderly.
