They simply used the WHO test that the USA refused to use. Medicare for All because a profit motive has no place in how we handle a pandemic.

Currently everyone knows the house can't force policy through the Senate. There are only 2 options for the Democrats in the house. 1 play the investigation and impeachment game that will go nowhere because it won't pass in the Senate and will play into the GOP talking points of a witchhunt and obstructionism. 2 pass actual policy the people want like a living wage tied to inflation and Medicare for All to control the conversation in 2020 and make the GOP the party that is against what the people want. Make the GOP be the party that is in favor of Medicare bankruptcies because they refused to even vote on Medicare for All after hr676 passes in the Democratic house. But pay go will kill any chance of that happenings. So voting for Nancy now is a vote to kill Medicare for All. The long game is to focus on setting the agenda for 2020 because we need to win the Senate and the Whitehouse. Nancy Pelosi doesn't help with that long game she emboldens the GOP while turning away the progressives because she is the poster child for the corporate Democrats in the house.

  17.  Councilman Les Wynan  but Rand Paul is one of the loudest critics of single payer systems always saying their care is worse then the USA for profit system. He is a hypocrite for running to Canada to get their superior care. Infact yes he wanted to see a specialist who because while the surgery costs way less in Canada they do a procedure our for profit system refuse to offer because the profit margin isn't good enough. Rand Paul thinks mesh which causes cancer is good enough in America because it helps with corporate healthcare profits less training more profit margin. But when he needed hernia surgery he all the sudden ran to the Canadian hospital where their single payer system puts the focus on the healthy outcome not the profit and they do a non mesh reconstructive surgery which doesn't cause cancer. Rand Paul knows our for profit system is risking death to maximize profit and when he was faced with that choice he used his wealth and privilege to take advantage of the superior care offered by the Canadian not for profit system. Because apparently he values his life more then the healthcare industries profit just not the lives of other American citizens. Their lives are to be sacrificed for both profit and political theater.

The idea is to make sure American heroes of the terrorist attacks who are dieing of cancer caused as a result of their saving innocence Americans attacked by terrorists don't have to keep going back to Congress and bagging Rand Paul to please fund their next round or chemotherapy. So it is simply for the rest of their lives. But Rand Paul literally said they should continue to have to come back every 3 years as they die of cancer to make sure the government doesn't decide to drop their healthcare and force their loved ones through medical bankruptcy because Rand Paul doesn't believe anyone deserves healthcare.

  20.  @Thorn99855  I really don't understand your point. We have a system today where we ration access to healthcare bases on your wealth. People today literally sit in their car at the hospital trying to decide if they take their child into the emergency room knowing that it will cause them to fall into bankruptcy and cost them everything they have. Tulsi is offering you a plan where we ration the quality of the healthcare you have access to based on your wealth. I guess that is slightly better but it still is basically wealth based healthcare. Bernie Sanders is offering you a system similar to Norwary or Canada where your personal wealth isn't a factor. A system where you get treatment based on your healthcare needs. Sure there will be some sort of rationing but it is based on your illness not your wealth. If you need knee surgery and someone else has just been in a car crash and is bleeding out they get put in the head of the line and you have to wait until they are stabilized before you get your knee surgery. That is how healthcare should work if there is a need for anyone to wait the hospital should make that choice based on medical need not personal wealth.

  41. The Senate isn't designed to be one citizen one vote that is what the house of representatives is for. The Senate is designed to protect the rights of rural landowners from the majority who live in cities deciding that rural concerns are not there problem. It serves a needed function the issue is that the president and house of representatives are not serving their functions of representation as 1 citizens one vote. Fix the house before you try to muck with the Senate

When care is based on a profit motive the results will be far worse than when care is based on medical grounds. Look to South Korea their single payer healthcare system has kept the mortality rate low because they started testing and isolation early with drive through testing. Here in the USA we refused to use the WHO test weeks ago because our pharmaceutical companies had to make a version that could maximize profits from.
