The house didn't pass Medicare for All during a pandemic when 10s of millions of Americans lost their employer healthcare along with their jobs. A one time payment of $2000 is better but incrementalism won't rise to the challenges we face today. Tell your landlord that you are going to pay your $5000 back rent with either a $600 or $2000 check so he can't evict you and let me know how well it works out. I am guessing the landlord and the bank will tell you both are inadequate to pay a $5000 debt.

Case in point neither the house or the Senate voted on Medicare for All during a pandemic but they both voted to give the equivalent of $32,000 per American citizen to the wealthy business owners who bought got them. Ask yourself would you be better off if the government had given you $32,000 per member of your household? Congress said NO you are better off giving that money to your boss instead because that is infact what they did. Until we end the bribery nothing will fundamentally change to quote the president elect.

I have been wondering why any politician would be unable to clear the very low bar of actually giving money to their voters. Then it accured to me for decades the GOP has brainwashed their voters into believing that the government can't do anything to help them. If the government breaks that just once the working class will see they have been lied to for decades. Then the game is up the people will realize that government has been able to help them all along and has simply refused to do so because it benefits the owner class in our society to keep the working class desperate and willing to work 3 jobs simply to pay the rent. V.H.  the citizens in France also dont have the same access to their own guns or a constitutional right to overthrow the government that we do have in atleast some state constitutions in the USA. Honestly from the photos of the police valance in france I would say that it is no less brave to put on a yellow vest in France then to join a BLM march in the USA. In both cases the police are meeting the protestors with the same chemical weapons.

But the reality is that Raytheon and the other defense contractors would be in Mitch McConnell's office 30 seconds after the first failed vote to overturn the veto telling him that he has to pass that bill or he will no longer have his seat of power.
