Apparently the humans did it strawberries are the priority in a drought.

If only there was an alternative some way to put sheets of glass in the sun and get electricity without burning something. Or maybe something that you could hand outside on a windy day to spin and make power...
2
@RazorMouth the free market has spoken nuclear is the most expensive form of new energy generation. Wind solar and storage are the cheapest solution for the power grid.
2
@Rod Williams the money is comming from the government. Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk both made their fortune off the federal government
2
@Legyun don't worry they can find other work just like the factory workers in the rust belt...
2
@JJS_11 but the truckers are they have one of the highest turnover rates in the USA about 6 months is all it takes to burn out most of them.
2
@tuck295q lol sure he need them to crush Detroit so he can gain market share at the moment
2
@tuck295q Elon is getting more fleet orders for his semi than he can hope to fill. The independent truckers are not an issue when it comes to selling them. Pepsi, Budweiser and Walmart are among the early customers. Those are volume sales where they can afford the mega chargers. Good luck getting a charger for a semi at your home in rural America
2
CRAM MARC last time I checked it was illegal to obstruct traffic so you should have a good case get the police to impound them
2
@darkdan3379 the real answer is the barrons of industry being good caplistist see all labor as a cost to be minimized. I was at the large group meeting in the early 2000s when the CEO of Osram told that to his own employees. It didn't improve moral at the plant.
2
@stevedevice1866 same point that it could easly be fixed.
2
@tjmarx no they will have a second empty pipeline. RT had an article the other day saying the reduction in exports was to insire they have supply for domestic needs as they expect a cold winter with high domestic demand.
2
One more reason to build more disturbed solar. No power lines or power plants to be targets in a war.
2
@cccc2740 you are still deflecting attention from those with the power to do something and blaming those who are powerless. Individual actions won't solve a society wide problem alone.
2
@cccc2740 I mean you throwing away 19 pairs of shoes won't end the climate crisis. Individual actions alone won't fix a society wide problem. Seems like you are trying hard to miss the point
2
Agree to return to the post WWII map with the USSR and the USA locked in a nuclear cold war??? That is the good old peace you are talking about. Only make it a 3 way cold war with China and Russia in a mutual defense pack. Oh the good old days somehow they where never as great as you remember them.
2
I love how replacing demand from coal would be easy but gas is hard per her comments. It seems to me that replacing electricity demand is the same regardless of what power plant made the electricity in the first place.
2
@fredkrause4509 so homes don't have electricity power lines to power other hot water heaters??? Or is there a shortage of plumbers to install them? Seems swapping out appliances is something we understand well in our modern society we replace them every 7 years anyway.
2
Good thing this wasn't a balloon those require millions of dollars worth of missiles to shoot down.
2
@Mohammed A why make the false choice between two evils when we have renewable energy plus storage at a lower cost?
2
@Mohammed A the only issue with renewable energy plus storage is the lack of political will to build it.
2
@Eric who said I wanted to break water? Pumped hydro doesn't involve splitting water.
2
@Korovkin_Pavel lol Russian Nuclear Plants sure you can build them cheap if you don't kind the occasional nuclear meltdown.
2
@Korovkin_Pavel oh as to when the wind stops blowing. Too funny you have never heard of energy storage.
2
Because 8 millionaires in the Democratic party and all the Republican millionaire in Congress know they are wealthy because the deny the working class a living wage. We need rank choice voting and a people's party or the millionaires will continue to increase income inequality forcing more Americans to literally live in their cars or on the streets. 20 billion dollars would end homelessness in America. We just passed our second almost 2 trillion dollar package in a years and created 20 trillion dollars in new currency yet out of all that money no member of Congress fought to say put in the 20 billion that will end homelessness for our most at need citizens. Tells you everything you need to know when Elon Musk getting billions to build rockets that blow up after landing is more important than ending homelessness.
2
Time to buy a Tesla they are the most American made auto and not dependent on the bridges in question as the factory is no where near it. This will ironically help the EV automotive industry grow and the ICE fall.
2
@ArawnOfAnnwn the biggest issue with beef can be solved by diet that helps them break down methane. But honestly the climate crisis wasn't caused by cows because they never added one molecule of carbon to the biosphere your car did that when the ff industry pumped it out of the wells.
2
@newyork2021 millions dead. Your denialism is a disgrace
2
@mirekslechta7161 look up Mutually Assured Destruction you will learn something as clearly you didn't understand what winning wars between nuclear powers looks like.
2
@jakeg3126 India literally made and exported most of the vaccine used in the USA. Your ignorance of how outsourcing works is amazing
2
@0dyss3us51 people once thought the same thing about building war machines. But the government mandated that corporations build what was needed and the allied forces won WWII
2
@BonsuBigWhale so how many decades ago did they start working on the vaccine for a virus that didn't exist before 2019??? Your argument doesn't pass the sniff test when the virus was only discovered months before they vacillated the first people. Just to help you with the math if it takes decades plural to develop a vaccine for covid 19 we would see the first clinical test trials in 2039 as it would take 20 plus years to develop the vaccine by your theory for a virus discovered in 2019
2
One more story brought to you by the ff industry.
2
@Coffee Lover without putin there would be no war to watch he is the one who invaded a sovereign nation and threatened nuclear war.
2
@qhuizatlantis8484 so now ExxonMobil is your god??? This is a direct result of the ff industry products used over the last century.
2
@sync232 clearly you are clueless about the project to get 100% renewable energy baseload electricity to the UK or you would know the current source of electricity isn't the point it is the future I am discussing. We can today build 100% renewable baseload power for half the cost of Hinkley point nuclear power. That is a game changer and nuclear power is done.
2
You start by naming the countries which are "doing just fine" with a global pandemic.
2
@AA-td1yw cases of covid per world meters info online which has been considered one of the better websites for the last year USA 34,420,284 India 30,002,691 Now technically we have more cases but if you think the numbers are off you should consider what percentage of the poor in india where never reported as covid moved through there slums. I am willing to guess that even besides the fact that we have vaccinated a higher percentage of our population that India has had more deaths. Of course per capita we will have failed worse so far because we have a far smaller percentage of the global population but mostly that is simply do to our country getting off to an earlier start. Brazil is also right up there with us per capita and they lack the vaccine adoption rate that we have. So just wait the rest of the world will continue to suffer worse not that I am happy about that. I believe non of us are safe until all of us are which is why I think we need to end profiteering off the pandemic and make enough vaccine for the global population
2
Shayne Meidle funny because all she did was hold mic and let the Israeli citizens speak
2
Shayne Meidle watch the video it hard to see what context would make the answers acceptable
2
Shayne Meidle but do tell in what context is saying you want to commit genocide acceptable? I will wait while you rationalize when people should call for genocide because I don't know a single time when it is acceptable it is a war crime and crime against humanity that those Israeli citizens called for on camera.
2
@Justagamerhere1 you think corporations don't use all the available loopholes already how cute.
2
Joe Xavier why these companies didn't offshore in 2016 when they paid 35% so why offshore in 2021 at 28%
2
Maybe Germany should invest 2% of GDP into renewable energy and geothermal heating as apposed to F35 fighter jets and other weapons systems.
2
@MoireFly I am pretty sure NATO has a robust military without investing more in the profits of the military industrial complex. I suspect the combined NATO "defense budget" exceeds the GDP of Russia let alone their military budget.
2
@Spartan-jg4bf you claim to be in the European energy sector and don't know Vestas is working with Modvion the swedish firm making wooden bases for their wind turbines. So your comments about ignorance where pure projection.
2
XLinks has done that 100% renewable energy baseload electricity for the UK at half the cost of Hinkley Point.
2
It would be below the cost of any US for profit hospital
2
Can't see any reason from history to think Germany sending tanks to fight Russian troops would end poorly...
2
Last time I checked the sun didn't send a bill for my solar panels.
