Can we end the ff era yet? Or do we need to wait for even more damage to the climate before we act?
2
Sounds like a good time to double down on renewable energy and storage technology. The fact that the expert things Russian oil wells are depleted doesn't look good for the future of the ff industry as they are one of the largest exporter in the world.
2
@nuqwestr wow what a great troll repsonce
2
@thers1tes I think you are the one missing the point but keep yourself safe
2
@andi8343 well BlackRock is definitely opening up new profits from ending the American dream of home ownership and turning us into a nation of renters. But history has showed that lower levels of inequality in society result in depressions and the end of empires. The failure to learn from the past dooms us to repeat it.
2
@andrei-lucianserb1771 I remember being a kid and hearing how the moon landings decades earlier would open space for colonies. Now more than half a century later you are recycling the same talking points. Maybe we could focus on not destroying the one plant that does support human life instead. But that isn't as sexy as billionaires launching the cars and themselves into space.
2
@patrickstar686 don't worry the federal reserve already proved they will create 20 trillion dollars to cause a V shaped recovery in the stock market. The top 20% of Americans who own 80% of all stocks can rest easy their wealth will continue to be protected by the federal reserve at all costs just like it has sence 2008 The millionaires in Congress made sure the billionaires who bought them their seats of power will be protected at all cost.
2
@JT-xj1pg The richest one percent of the world’s population are responsible for more than twice as much carbon pollution as the 3.1 billion people who made up the poorest half of humanity during a critical 25-year period of unprecedented emissions growth. The problem isn't population it is lifestyle choices.
2
@GabidenZhazylbekov billions of people in the Chinese army you say. Very impressive for a country with a population of 1.393 billion people. How did they get nearly twice as many people in the army then they have in their entire population???? You are a clown pulling your facts from your back side is how.
2
The problem is we are already over 1.3C increase and any new ff infrastructure need to be a standard asset if we will stay below 2C we don't have decades it needs for any new investments to make a return for the investors.
2
You can't bomb fires. Don't feel embarrassed we had to tell trump he couldn't nuke a hurricane too.
2
Trump Tax 35% to 21% lost government revenue 1.9 trillion dollars over a decade. Biden 21% to 28% tax increase = 2 trillion dollars funding for infrastructure over 8 years. This must be new math when you get all the gains with have the tax increase.
2
@adelinrosca6649 but his policies including the tax cuts for the wealthy didn't expire when he left office unfortunately. However I suspect you are smart enough to know how laws last beyond the term of the president who signs them into being.
2
@adelinrosca6649 what do the spending habits of people have to do with corporations and their taxes? When we cut their taxes they just used the money for stock buybacks.
2
Well get used to it this is the new normal brought to you by the ff industry. The climate scientists have infact been telling you that for decades.
2
@cowboyx9380 you can't find wind turbine technicians jobs in the rust belt? You should take to the local government in Ohio about why they are fighting the wind farms they are doing great in other states and the rust belt definitely has wind.
2
@Rangetechus really since when was road construction a dieing industry? Some of the biggest contractors in my state do road work.
2
@Joe-yh7eb so you want us to do everything China does? I have seen the air quality and standard of living there I dont want that here.
2
@cowboyx9380 please do tell where you got the 6 to 1 number because the ff industry definitely owned the gop. ExxonMobil literally put their CEO in the last administration Not to mention the self proclaimed billionaires businessman president. Pretty clear who runs the gop and it isn't the working class
2
@36200 he is literally in the middle of a criminal trial your ignorance is shocking.
2
Humanity got by for centuries before the ff industry we will for centuries after it is gone too.
2
Seeing this is the 26th time the world leader have failed us no one should be surprised. They are willingly pushing us to a 3C hotter mass extinction.
2
So just like Paris they agreed to something that has no teeth and protects the status quo while acting like they are doing something. Or as Greta said more bla bla bla
2
Given that we are not seeing the effects of any ff we burned after 2012 yet those wars will be short lived as the last of the water goes away. Deserts are already backed into our climate from the ff we have consumed as half of all emmisions have happened in the last 2 decades
2
@the_hate_inside1085 they restarted coal power plants when the gas plants went off lines so it had alot to do with it.
2
@zorgonfire yup just buy an American car instead. Oh wait GM just closed their Canada plant for lack of Chinese chips...
2
@davemeeks8109 It is the anti vaxxer anti science red states where people like you are over running the healthcare system with covid and dieing
2
@adambeaulieu6868 china also has fewer people in prison. The USA has the highest rate of incarceration in the developed world.
2
@jungbolosse3034 🤣🤣🤣🤣 factories can't run on electricity??? That sure will be news to the power companies
2
@jamesphilip6737 I never said the GOP is the only wealthy party. Both parties are owned by the wealthy it is why we need rank choice voting
2
@jamesphilip6737 so now you think Nancy Pelosi was poor before she want into public office. That too is priceless
2
Too bad the same owner class peoblems exist the world over. Taxing the working class isn't the answer. Government funded renewable energy infrastructure and jobs for the working class is the solution. But global neoliberalism means what we get is taxes on the working class
2
The free market is suppose to provide a solution to this when the alternatives are less expensive. Off shore wind contracts in the UK are now the least expensive form of energy generation costing 1/4 that of gas powered electricity
2
@davezad sure they spoil but to think that there is no other way to have shipped them is silly
2
@MikeHunt-no2kt people said the same thing about trump and the Republican party
2
Nuclear is literally the most expensive form of new energy generation. It would be crazy to build the most expensive form. Wind solar and storage are cheaper and the future based on ecominic alone.
2
All nations need to do all they can to be 100% renewable energy. The global nature of the climate crisis doesn't care who emits carbon.
2
Hopefully there will be a class action lawsuit against the ff industry for damages caused by their actions since they knew this was comming for over half a century and continued to pump oil anyway
2
Someone just learned how the advance of time works.
2
The Chinese government is why solar is cheap now. They literally spent a decade or more building the manufacturing capacity at the government costs. I was in Tiawan when the program ended. The Chinese government had literally covered all costs to setup solar factories and cover one years labor costs for any company that could get contracts for solar manufacturing production lines.
2
The free market has spoken the future is wind solar and storage. It is the cheapest form of new energy generation today.
2
@Thunder_Yoda nuclear not subsidized???? That is funny I don't know a single government in the world that has nuclear power and hasn't heavily subsidized it.
2
@OutragedPufferfish Uruguay it was covered on this very same channel just yesterday I am pretty sure you commented on the video where they told us all that they are 98% renewable energy. You might want to see a doctor if you forgot yesterday already
2
@ytcensorhack1876 when you eliminate competition by having a handful of large companies it is functionality the same thing as a monopoly. But if you prefer oligopoly in place feel free to swap the word when you read my comment
2
@ytcensorhack1876 lol the great depression that is your argument when greed crashed the stock market that isn't even close to a small business problem. Talk about bad faith arguments or a lack of understanding of history. How many small businesses are listed on the stock exchange?
2
@ytcensorhack1876 the funny part is you have turned this into a discussion about the banking sector when I made a simple point about large businesses not banks in particular. You must feel guilty to make this about your sector. Have a nice day
2
Join the people's party and the fight for rank choice voting. We need to atleast vote 3rd party to show the two party monopoly that they are losing authority. They don't care about the half of all Americans who don't vote because they have only given their power to the ones who vote. Rank choice voting and more parties are the only way to take power from the monopoly
2
@jennifercuddy5663 which is why I have no faith in either of the two parties and advise you join the fight to replace them with a new system
2
@jennifercuddy5663 go to the people's party YouTube channel and follow the movement it is about much more than a single person
2
Not really. 2 trillion would only fix our current failing infrastructure if 100% went to roads and bridges. This is a half measure that fails to rise to the challenges of our time. But it is what you can expect from the current political system. If you want a plan for the future you need to fight for rank choice voting and the people's party
