The reality is humans move to new areas and become members of that nation to try to claim your alliance to the nation you moved out of is what causes the conflict. We are seeing the same thing the world over. Israel is an example of people moving to a country and then declaring the people who live there as the enemy and locking them up in the worlds largest open air prison. Much the same you would not respect Palestinian rights to the land they lived on in the same time frame in history as you claim we need to respect Russian rights to Ukraine.

  34.  @smartandhandsome  you are only about 20 years out of date on your view of China. Over the last couple of decades they have built a high tech engineering college program and graduated engineers. It isn't the 90s anymore when we where shipping production lines over to asia only to have to send our engineers over to do routine maintenance. I know because I sold production equipment to them in the 90s through about 2010. Those decades saw a huge change in their skills.

  42. In the 1930s Texas choose to not be part of the United States energy grid because they didn't want to pay for a hardened system which would withstand this type of weather events. This is the direct result of deregulation and dependence on companies to do the right thing. The energy sector in Texas put profits over people and is now trying to socialize the cost of their profits onto the rest of the country. They need to be held financially accountable for the harm they have done and forced to fix the underlying problems not being on the national grid and not having hardened infrastructure.
