Welcome to abrupt climate change brought to you by the ff industry
1
@RobertMJohnson wow you really must work for ExxonMobil. Because that level of trolling definitely doesn't happen by chance.
1
@augustus9466 that comes from peer reviewed scientific research you need to learn how exponential growth works
1
@augustus9466 wow your trolling sucks I hope they don't pay you too much for it
1
@augustus9466 wow now making random strawman arguments to get more money from the troll farm?
1
@augustus9466 only the fool who try denying scientist for.the benefit of the for profit ff industry
1
@augustus9466 lol you really have no clue how doubling of demand works. As to expecting anyone to clean up the world I think we have 26 examples to say no world government plans on doing that we are just keeping up our ff based global society as the 6th mass extinction event happens around us. But feel free to keep pointing at evil others while the 6th mass extinction beings our society to an end if it let's you sleep better at night.
1
@dimitrivisser27 those people should be employed in ways that don't kill people. We would be far better off if our government paid the same people to manufacture windmills solar panels and batteries for the green new deal than bombs to drop in the middle east for oil. So yes it is just as bad as it sounds. Please do the math and prove the point about how much of the defense budget comes back as taxes. Because I suspect far more of it simply goes out to the wealthy share holders of the military industrial complex.
1
@dimitrivisser27 I wonder if you even realize you are making an argument for socialism.
1
@dimitrivisser27 the government employing the contractors is definitely socialism. We socialized the defense production because there isn't a profit motive for companies to stock pile weapons on the hope that the government might some day choose to invade a country and need a new fighter jet. So yes the defense budget is socialism. We have a mixed economy. I didn't call it communism because I actually understood the meaning of the words unlike people on the right who use them interchangeably. But I noticed you avoided the fact that those same workers could be better employed. Or do you think that my two best Friends having PTSD and 80% military disability from their role in the 2 decade old oil wars was just a jobs program with an acceptable side effect to keep those military contractors employed? I happen to believe it was a needless destruction of the lives of two very healthy happy young mens lives.
1
@dimitrivisser27 you still haven't told me why it is a good jobs program to have my two best friends 80% disabled and suffering PTSD. Or why we need to spend more than the next 10 countries combined on the military? How is that a good investment?
1
@dimitrivisser27 actually china is way bigger then the USA by every single metric so try again. But if you dont know what countries are the top 11 spender on defense you need to do your homework.
1
@dimitrivisser27 oh and please explain why the population of the United States is relevant to a discussion about the military budget? Would there be less of a military threat to the United States then say China simply because our political is less than 1/3 of the population of China?
1
@dimitrivisser27 China has a land area of 9.3 million square kilometers (3.6 million square miles), which is 2.2% larger than the US land area of 9.1 million square kilometers (3.5 million square miles).Apr 14, 2018 So by your logic we should spend 2.2% less than what China spends. With a population of 1.43 billion people, compared with about 329 million in the United States, China has a population that's more than four times the size of the U.S. population.Dec 23, 2019 If we go by population we should spend 1/4 of what China spends. China's annual military budget is estimated by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute to be about 1.7 trillion yuan. ... Using market exchange rates, China's annual military spending converts to about US$228 billion. By comparison, the US military budget is US$649 billion – or 3.2% of US GDP.Oct 1, 2019 Yet we spend nearly 3x as much as China does. So tell me again why it is 3x as expensive for the USA when your argument shows you think we should spend far less????
1
@dimitrivisser27 I don't think the army has been on horse back in over 100 years so try again. Do you work for a defense contractor by any chance because I have shot down every single argument you have made and you have yet to tell me why having my best friends suffering 80% physical disability and PTSD is a good tax revenue and jobs program as your orginal claimed.
1
@dimitrivisser27 oh it didn't take any time at all to Google the size of China vs the USA you should have tried it before make a fool of yourself by exposing your ignorance in public.
1
We have seen 1.3C rise already today. We have already burned the emmisions that will push us past 1.5C. Tell the truth we are on track for 3C by 2050. It would take a major commitment that no members of the G20 is making to keep us below 2C. Which at the first COP was considered too much warming to support our society.
1
But the GOP has agreed to try and cut the IRS budget to enforce tax laws on the wealthy. It is their first order of business to protect the greed of the wealthy
1
@sam rut you sound like a conspiracy theorist
1
@heyisitdoobietime912 you can start by getting off YouTube
1
@sam rut so you don't believe people have died from covid 19. Priceless
1
@sam rut wow so testing is giving the wrong cause of death. You started this talking about the vaccine and tracing that is the conspiracy theory of micro chips my right wing uncle talks about but you seem to be in denial when faced with with facts.
1
@paikuhansensei815 really? That must be why the polio vaccine was such a failure. I mean people must be catching that virus all the time now as you seem to think vaccinated people are still caries.
1
@paikuhansensei815 you need to study how long covid works because people can test negative one day and positive the next.
1
@lawrencejennings2041 you smoked too much smart dust I think
1
Yes but we have the technology we just need to ramp up the manufacturing and install of renewable energy and EV.
1
@frankrenda2519 if we don't get sunlight you will have far bigger problems than not driving.
1
@jansix4287 the point still holds because the pandemic and depression is global
1
@jansix4287 so you think a one time payment of $1200 will buy a German car. Wow I didn't know they where so affordable
1
@jansix4287 jeff Bezos and Elon musk can only drive so many cars.
1
@jansix4287 how many wives do you think they have??? You are a funny clown
1
@jansix4287 rising from record lows is hardly something to get excited about expecally when the video explains how the price will increase
1
Well someone bombed the gas pipelines and caused the biggest methane leak in history last week... oh wait that helps make things worse...
1
The ff industry caused this.
1
When your plan involves shelling the largest nuclear power plant in Europe it is time to find a leader with a different plan
1
@justmr9553 we won't need the middle east as the ff era comes to an end
1
@justmr9553 you are the one who thinks the USA needs Israel because you think we need the middle east. But everyone knows the only thing that is exported from that desert is oil. So yes when the ff industry ends no one will care about that desert any more than any other desert on earth.
1
@trololonono funny that we proved single payer healthcare for Israel while telling Americans that the United States can't afford it. There is definitely a benefital relationship it just goes one way.
1
@justmr9553 it doesn't have to be totally stopped to make the middle east more trouble than it is worth. In a few years time the automotive industry will no longer run on ff and will make the demand drop so far we don't need SA.
1
@justmr9553 transportation is half the ff industry hardly a small part. It definitely exceeds the output of the middle east in that one sector.
1
@justmr9553 let the Chinese troops fight and die for their oil the USA has spent decades being the worlds police force.
1
@TeddyKrimsony why would the rest of Europe want to get all their electricity from England??? Seems like it would be smarter to put it on the roofs where people live
1
@Leifthrasir so you admit it is the most expensive to install and more expensive than solar to operate. You do like wasting money apparently
1
@evaldaszmitra7322 those are funny numbers but I will stick with the solar panels I have instead of living near a nuclear waste plant. We keep all the nuclear waste at all power plants in the USA because we can't dispose of it. We have made enough of a headache for future generations with that mess.
1
@Leifthrasir funny because nuclear power has made electricity the most expensive in the USA here. We literally pay higher rates than other states because of the Seabrook nuclear power plant. And that is because we talk about the burden paid by future generations guard our nuclear waste.
1
ea all you need to do is over build which the power companies already do with redundancy and include grid scale storage. V2G technology is one option of many for grid scale storage. But we learned in the 60s that we need storage we have pumped hydro storage because nuclear power can't ramp to meet demand. We have peaker plants because coal boilers can't ramp to meet demand. You act as though supply and demand load balancing is new but it isn't. We already see that batteries are lower cost and better performance than old school gas peaker plants. We know pumped hydro is good for 24 hour energy load balancing thanks to decades of the nuclear industry. This is nothing new. I have off grid solar and batteries it works great I never worry about electric my solar is far more stable then the grid which drops out in wind or even sometimes for hours at at time on a perfectly calm clear night here in the USA.
1
ea I am pretty sure humans don't live where there is no sun or wind. But feel free to keep hiding in your cave from the rest of the world.
1
ea the sun has only powered all life on planet earth. But yup that is pretty unreliable you should definitely worry it might not rise in the morning.
1
@Leifthrasir if you think nuclear earns back its cost so quickly just think how fast wind and solar which are cheaper to install and operate will pay back. Not to mention cheaper to decommission. When your solution is more expensive at every phase of it's life you shouldn't argue cost
1
@evaldaszmitra7322 doesn't mater why nuclear power is the most expensive form of new energy after over half a century it has remained expensive. The market has spoken we have less expensive alternatives
