As long as you are decolonising it, you should get a full thou

@msbluejay3 I'm not about to expose any potentially identifying information on the Internet & did you watch the video? Woke has moved from its original meaning & now means people who believe in identity politics, people who believe they are enlightened and virtuous and have the right to impose their belief systems on others. People who believe they are tolerant and accuse others of bigotry despite the fact that they are themselves unable to accept other people's criticism or different perspective. People who support authoritarianism and are against free speech, people who actively aim to control other peoples language to make social change in the way they see fit. People who think that changing language changes reality

I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but how could it be fought justly?
1
@martinwilliams9866 what would you put the statistically significant increase in erectile disfunction in young men down to?
1
@AJ_______ you can & we do/have - we have a mixed economy of public & private sector. The NHS, nationalised services are all evidence of this
1
That's Frankie Boyle's joke
1
All of those things happened under Democrats too.
1
Thanks, I came to make both these points but don't need to now. To add to them, both link as experience of sexual abuse is a big factor in adult addiction, mental illness, personality disorder. There is a huge link between childhood trauma & drug addiction and a big difference between drug user & drug addict. I don't think drug addiction is a choice.

Which light?

The thing with 'lived experience' is that we always had a concept of individual perspective & we dont need to add the word 'lived' to the word 'experience'. It is enough to talk about your own experience/s. And my experience of being my identity is not necessarily the same as others who share my characteristics because of many factors such as personality, social environment. By turning it into 'lived experience' it becomes a flag phrase, something that identifies you as someone in the elite plus creates a hierarchy of experienjce as only certain characteristics get to use the term & the privileges & protections it brings

Yes, while he's still on this earth!

Say more?
1
Shocking & sad about Peru 😥
1
There is no evidence whatsoever for 'nature getting it wrong' in the case of sex unless you're talking about disorders of sexual development which are physical, medical conditions and entirely separate from gender identity
1
There are quite a few speaking against it ...Coleman Hughes, Candace Owen, Kemi Badenoch, John McWorter, Zuby and more
1
What were you thinking of trying out? Transing? What made you want to & what changed your mind?
1
It happens in UK universities too
1
@nonyadamnbusiness9887 yes, I take your point
1
@QED_ there are other ugly people. If you are really sure that you are ugly, work out who is out of your league and who are your equivalents & go for people in your league. Chemistry really increases attractiveness. Love & sex is not necessarily our of bounds (maybe just don't reproduce 😂)
1
And also that 'affirming' has become the recommended response. Which is bonkers
1
Link to it?

I think better to limit numbers of buy to let properties and have rent regulation to prevent spiralling, unaffordable tenancies. Small scale middle class landlords can be very good, humane landlords for people not yet in a position to buy
1
They might just abandon the whole progressive mask & go full on Islam
1
I wonder what he likes about the Greens....I am a long standing member & can vouch for it having been completely colonised by luxury inane ideologies & dangerously authoritarian characters. Please check out the current Shahrar Ali & the forthcoming Emma Bateman court cases for clear illustration of why the Greens are (currently) totally unfit for power
1
May I ask where you live &/or in what way it is illiberal?
1
We would need British people to be prepared to take those jobs though
1
It was a very convenient distraction to all the actual human rights abuses that went on during the covid response. It was a great method of 'divide & conquer". It was a great way to further embed gender ideology.
1
But also, academics without tenure have more reason to fear complaints by the students
1
None of those conditions are classified as mental illness
1
Agree. We need a review of all the political terminology that we use routinely as I don't think we have shared & consistent understanding of them at the moment which completely stunts discussion
1
I apologise for my shallowness & I've only just started watching...but my first thought is phoarrr Palestinian dude is BEAUTIFUL I would be willing to try to make a jewish/Palestinian peace treaty with him
1
We dont make it a left or right issue in the UK?! It HAS been made a left and right issue. People have been speaking out DESPITE that
1
Look up Jennifer Bilek for more info on who is behind the trans element of it
1
Yes, but that's also how we access the information we need to resist it
1
Judaism is an ethnicity and a religion. Eg, my cousin did a 23&me test & her ethnicity came back 100% Ashkanazi
1
@realolivertwisted so how come the test didn't say that? How come it can distinguish between Eastern European and Ashkanazi?
1
I don't think that state/society sanctioned lying takes us anywhere positive. I don't think we help individual mental health by indulging delusion. We perpetuate an extremely harmful ideology by indulging it. The concept of gender is extremely sexist from the root - talking about 'treating someone like a woman' 'feeling like a woman' etc. What does that even mean? Treat everyone like an individual except in situations where sex is relevant.
1
Until they revise them to fit the political correctness of today as with Roald Dahl
1
How could we not?
1
@alwincoleman3932 how, when you're employed? It comes straight out of my pay before it ever gets to me
1
@Louis Giokas she didn't go into the reasons people are having fewer children, she simply noted it as a societal factor
1
@dohlecarnett1866 he didn't ignore culture war issues - he ushered them in! He dutifully announced his pronouns (oh thanks Jezza I was wondering if you had a vag1na or not...🙄) & brought in the mad wokists like Lily Madigan, Rebecca Long-Bailey etc...he installed wokery right in the heart of Labour & ruined it. He should have seen, with a Marxist/materialist lens that postmodernist identity politics destroys class analysis & he didn't- he messed up time.
1
@frumpyducky7403 we can compare to places that didn't have the measures though. Zuby covered this
1
@sharifsalem yes that makes sense. I'm not worried about covid though, I'm worried about state control going out of control & mandated vaccination
1
I am very open to hearing the conservative perspective but I don't feel this covered important considerations such as how would he approach social care, meeting the needs of the most vulnerable and equality rights re adjustments for disability and maternity/child care in employment.
1
I haven't yet seen any evidence of people changing their minds.
1
@RandyJM21 your username checks out 😂

1
Frabcis I thought youd developed further than to refer to trans identified men as 'transgender woman' and as 'she' (Re Baby Reindeer)
1
Its statistically true. Whereas married women live shorter lives
