That Harriet Harman is now being considered by the Labour Party to become the next chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is a VERY BAD SIGN of things to come

Every single one of these terms need to be redefined & we need consistent, shared understanding of this
15
I work with students so often have to talk about someone who identifies as trans. I have become super skilled at talking without ever using a pronoun- only using names or just dropping out of the pronoun. I will not be forced to lie in my speech
13
@frusia123 yes, it's training the lambs to be an easy meal for the wolves
11
They have gone right wing on immigration but it seems that in other policies the left wing values remain. Maybe we need to ask what is fundamentally left wing about uncontrolled immigration....when it is women and the working class who are most negatively affected.

@jsd8981 Kemi? Rosie Duffield? Corbyn?
10
Class is a huge part

This all seems completely logical. What I struggle with, is how is it possible for global leaders to not also see this & to act in such seemingly foolhardy ways? They can't be that stupid. So it must be us that's missing something?

👏 👏

Freddie & Flo are some of the most attractive twins ever
7
Because as they are women, they are not threatening to men
6
I don't think English is a distinct ethnicity but it definitely is a culture and a beautiful land and one I love & identify with more than British
6
Louise Perry is so impressive- so considered, astute and equally considered and respectful of differing views. The other lady (Ayla?) had some interesting points but seemed incapable of speaking/thinking at a macro level - it was all about her self admittedly unusual individual experience.
5
@ohwellwhateverr in my work place some people would definitely object & potentially report me if I use correct sex pronouns if the student identifies differently. Some sectors are steeped in wokeness & some people are spoiling for the opportunity to prove their 'allyship' by taking a heretic down
5
Did he really say he supports an Islam1c future for Britain? Where?
5
@psalm1197 yes, definitely not a British accent
5
It's similar- imagine a daughter finding out her dad bought girls for sex, possibly her age or even younger. I could forgive my mum for being bought but I could never look at my father the same way
5
Massively agree with Poppy saying the fear over online dating is overblown. Yes, it is simply a way to meet in real life, once irl, it is an organic process. In my experience English men have little rizz & dont approach. In other countries it has always felt easier to meet men. So online dating is essential or romance will never happen
5
How can this apparently intelligent man not believe in borders? A welfare state from cradle to grave is then impossible. Surely he can't be blind to the obvious consequences of no borders
5
@tensevo same. The people arguing about how safe, stable & clean it is don't have any imagination - in an unstable context it is world endingly dangerous (Edit for spelling)
4
Oo the colour of Freddie's suit is absolutely beautiful AND it goes with the curtains 😍
4
@iratepirate3896 I'm not a bot & I don't have a profile picture & I think I have numbers in my name. I don't think it's a reliable criteria for being a bot
4
It means warmonger
4
I like your optimism
4
That theyre not even considering the costs of lockdown in the so called enquiry, is another huge propagandist slap in the face after that whole sick chapter of propaganda.
3
@Ron MacKinnon look up Jennifer Bilek's research. The Pritzker family is one of the key sources of finding
3
Don't forget EDI departments - in my sector most of the madness springs from there
3
If people were being shadow banned for criticising lockdowns and school closures before those things had been put into practice - that suggests a degree of pre planning & early collaboration between government and social media companies
3
And/or bog standard post viral fatigue
3
18 is legal age of adulthood. People can join the military under 18 but only with parental permission & what is expected of them will be different. Safeguarding duties apply to anyone under 18. Of the couples you mentioned (still unusual compared to male>female age gaps), none of the males you mentioned were aged 16.
3
People choose to be in denial and when they're in they tend to stay there
3
And truly mutual, shared, warm sex is where both parties are there because they want to be, where neither is paid to be there
3
@beowulf_of_wall_st yeah, I'm turning the responsibility where it should be. Buying sex is a disgusting exploitation. To coerce someone with money to have sexual interaction that you know they don't want - otherwise they wouldn't need to be paid to do it - is disgusting & shameful.
3
@SoulfuzZ if someone needs to be paid to have sex, they don't want to have sex; they want to have the money. To have sex with someone knowing they don't want to is disgusting behaviour
3
@RenegadeContext yes, agree, the lifestyle we have set up for the majority cannot be handled by a significant minority. Some people would be totally fine if they worked on the land, or a more generally active job
3
💯
3
You seem to have taken a position without exploring any of the issues
3
I would say that's the beauty of it. Learning & opening ones mind. We can all get stuck in bubbles & it's a good thought, albeit painful, when those bubbles get popped
3
I do think this whole issue has made me more open minded to conservative/right wing viewpoints and question my own previously settled position (firmly rooted in the left wing). Now I reject left/right as a concept entirely. I choose to make my mind up on single issues by researching without limiting myself to certain platforms and without thinking 'what does my side think' - because I no longer have a side
3
@buzzbuzzard3809 not defending Russia's human rights records, but there are political prisoners in Ukraine as we speak
3
@sentientflower7891 what's the truth?
3
ADHD is the biggest one atm. In higher education it seems every student has it
3
Does it seem that way? Or is it a question of numbers?
3
@piotrczubryt1111 it's a strategy
2
@just_another32 I agree, I think it is a journalist's job to explore the alternative view with their interviewee and that allows the interviewee to better strengthen their argument. And I also may be slightly blinded by love (and lovely to see two intelligent beautiful viking men in conversation 😍)
2
What's the specific point you're referring to?
2
@tedteddington6223 you think either side cares? Collateral damage
2
It's good to see women having a platform to talk about these issues
2
I think this is statistically correct? However education doesn't equal intelligence or wisdom. More educated people have leaned the wrong way many times
2
When the fight comes to us we need to stand up, whether or not its comfortable for us. Otherwise there is more to fight
