You just need them to be powerful enough to not leave any solid remains...

Why charge them coffee change?
2
@Jabberwockybird while likely, it is not proven one way or the other.
2
It's a travesty that such a law is even allowed to stay in the books, and even more absurd that any court doesn't refuse to apply it.
2
Ooof XD
2
@lt4753 wrong, if the assets were transfered after the court case started, it can still be claimed from the new owner and the original owner will be facing criminal charges for attempting to hide assets in bad faith.
2
@machintelligence they should be charged with conspiracy to comit murder.
2
jim, if this proposed CA law is unreasonable and unviable in the real world, how do you explain EU farmers prospering under animal husbandry regulations that considder even the CA proposition to be felony level animal cruelty?
2
When we had a system with anual tax tags on cars in Sweden, the tags were intentionally made of a material that had less integrity than the glue so that the tag couldn't be stolen as the attempt to remove it would destroy the tag.

One huge concern I can see at face value is: how can this court make a summary judgement when not even the court has applied due dilligence? How can the court just accept the plaintiffs unsubstatiated claim that the defendant was served at face value? Because from my perspective as a citizen of a European country, the absolute minimum requirement for internationally serving a law suit should be that someone representing the plaintiff, contacts me over the phone or in person, informs me that the conversation is beeing recorded and arranges to present me with the physical papers, either in person or by recomended mail that I will have to sign a reciept for. And unless they can present such a signed recipt that the defendant has recived and is in posession of a physical copy of the legal documents, they should not be able to claim that the defendant has been served and the case should have been thrown out with prejudice as frivolous litigation.
2
When you find that answer, you'll know why thousands of US citizens are starving each month.
2
@brtle yeah, I lost a 'start' in editing, thanks for notifying me XD
2
@ARockRaider the only other alternative is to ensure all the economic proceeds from CAF as well as fines are directly passed on to victim restitution and crime or poverty prevention programmes.
2
Non in good faith she wasn't.
2
And drug issues almost always starts as attempts to self medicate neurological or psychological struggles.
2
because the only ones who draft and supports these kinds of laws are either the same kind of hypocritical karens who become HOA despots or faschists or both. Also, 90% of the homeless addicts became addicted as a consequence of self medicating psychiatric or neuroatypical conditions that they were blocked from or otherwise unable to get diagnosis, treatment and therapy for.
2
@niyablake Sacramento? My older brother went there as a high school foreign exchange student in 1988-1989
2
@PhiloSage or, better yet, the money goes into crime prevention, education and victim restitution where the perp can't pay all the damages at once. Eg. The state pays the victim, the perp is written up with a loan to be paid to the state for the same ammount plus accumulated interest over time that can't be removed through declaring personal bankruptsy.
2
Interfering with the car IS tresspassing regardless of where it's parked
2
Or at least heavily restricted in where their authority to make rules and bylaws begin and end.
2
@happygardener28 to be certain, you actually need to be able to break into the program coding to see if the peer-to-peer sharing toggle actually does disable anything and doesn't just flip a visual cue.
2
A soul😂
2
Banking crimes should be capital crimes.
2
@palarious news flash: communism is about who owns the means of production and that work is assigned according to ability and proceeds divided according to need. Eg. Unless the water utility technicians are the only owners of the water purification plant and distribution infrastructure and that they distribute according to need and volume prices are set as individually variable as a percentage of income per gallon. If that's not how it's done, it's not communism.
2
Yes, you are nuts, because it's really, really simple. The right to veto who or what, how and why something/someone gets to use your body as physical life support for any reason at any time should be absolute and non negotiable.
2
It's not justice as long as they still have a pulse.
2
@suedenim9208 I'd say the company should become liable as soon as they actively claim their employee did nothing wrong, repeatedly, and aided in the employee in pinning the consequences on third party bystanders.
2
And anything the kid said in that situation should be inadmissible in court and count as evidence against the police for gross malpractice.
2
@christopherf8160 wrong, the court chose to ignore the reasonable doubt inferred by the inconclusive evidence as a third party witheld evidence they were ordered to release to the court. This is a gross misscarriage of justice at ALL levels.
2
@tacticallemon7518 no it can't force you in, the HOA members can try to harass or otherwise pretend or try to force you to join, but that's a number of crimes and you can press criminal charges against them over it.
2
Ice is less bad than ice cream. Don't ask, I was young and adventurous...
2
And get rewarded for his efforts the same way as the French nobility...
2
And afaik, it isn't even a misdemeanor anywhere here in Europe outside 100+kph highways. It's instead viewed as one of the last "fuck around and find out" occations for darwin award aspirants.

I was in the board of a different church in another part of the world where this happened too, only our bursar was caught way way earlier, so no fantastical sums had accumulated yet. I don't remember how it was dealt with more than that he was forced to attend gambling addiction treatment therapy and set up a payment plan for remuneration of the funds he embezzled. I don't recall if police were involved at all. I left religion behind completely not long after that, but not because of it.

@yt650 if the licence plate is stolen or lost, you report it stolen or lost, the plate manufacturers serial number for the old plate is flagged in the police database and you are automatically sent a new licence plate/set of two licence plates at an administrative fee of no more than €100 iirc, with the same vehicle registration code but a different plate serial nr. The new plates are automatically registered to the vehicles chassi ID from then on. If you have personalized plates, those are registered to the car on a 5 year subscription with the car reverting to it's original registration code on ownership transfer and the personalised plates can be transfered administratively to a new car for a fee. Also, thank you for educating me 🙂

you know it won't be

Sounds like these teens were almost in the same level of stupid as the two comscripts that got caught doing the similar: Donuts Under Inebriation, in the gravel drill yard in between the barracks and the Regimental staff building by the Officer of the Watch... in one of the regiments Scania trailer trucks that one of them had key access to...
2
@tedhardulak7698 and the fines should not be as a fixed sum, it should be as a full percent of their anual raw turnover per injured party... On the other hand, I'd prefer to make trading of personal data with third parties a capital felony.
2
@markadams2907 the state should be the ones to press the charges vs the lying previous owner, and they should be forced to do so regardless if they want to or not.
2
Go to small claims court.
2
@twatson87 still serves both parties of the hostile side.
2
@ZippyyOne likely, but it's not me as a non-american observer.
2
Always has. The only long term successful organized crime has always been religion and banking, in that order.
2
That is why Unions are not only important but essential
2
The penalty should be forclosure of the buisness under criminal asset forfeiture every time a company comitts a deliberate crime.
2
@insylem not even Pepperidge farm members...
2
Monetary is not the answer, capital punishment is.
2
Alcoholism isn't a disability, it's an addiction and a symptom of self medicated mental health issues.
2
Did you report the shooting at your kids as assault and attempted murder? If you or your husband had been at home when it happened, had you been able to shoot back in assumed defense of your children?
2
Property that should be on liability of the city to protect
