  3. Yes, this is true: Chinese friends in another city inform me that the situation with the increasing restrictions and daily testing is unbearable. Also, shops have run out of everything because there are many closed roads across the whole country blocking deliveries, just in case there is a coronavirus hitching a ride on something.

  13. I see many well-made varied videos and a website by Lei, so I wonder what she means by 'censored'. It seems to me that Lei is free to express her opinions openly, and indeed does. Lei is also free to hold and express her faith; however, freedom also means others are free to criticize if their opinion on faith differs. This would not be possible in China. Also, it is universal that it always feels like things are getting worse, when, in fact, the opposite is true. In the free world, liberty, equality, and fairness is certainly greater now that it was a generation ago. Anybody is at liberty to put themselves forward as a candidate in elections in the free world, including America, but this is certainly not the case in China. Anyway, I like the videos on this channel. Please feel free to debate; you are welcome!

  15.  @LeisRealTalk  This is exactly what is needed, as anybody who heard "Rethink: Rethink the World Order" broadcast this morning on BBC Radio 4, and available on their website. In the concluding remarks, it was stated that people need to make it their business to follow what is happening in China. Channels including Lei's Real Talk, and China Update are a great way to do this.

  17. Interesting video: One slightly surprising thing is that Chinese farmers need help with breeding pigs, which is an animal that is famous for its fertility. ;-) The problem is normally how to moderate their productivity, we might say. . . . .

  19. Note: @6:17, the figure 28.6% represents a decrease of 59.5% on 70.6%, and @6:31 the figure 28% is 26% smaller than 38%, i.e. 100 x (70.6 - 28.6) / 70.6 = 59.5, and 100 x (38 - 28) / 38 = 26. The point about income source and investment returns at around the eight minute mark is brilliant. Glad to see this short-format scripted video, and with much improved audio quality.

All of the UK's 'red-top' newspapers are well-known for having more in common with works of fiction than fact, and should be considered as being for entertainment only. Also cited is an article from medRxiv. These articles are not peer-reviewed, and thus are not authoritative. Nevertheless, we are right to be concerned about experiments such as the twins that were genetically-engineered to resist aids.

  36. The concept of hypersonic missiles is debunked in a video by Sabine Hossenfelder. A huge problem with it is the heating as it flies through the air at meteoric speeds, surrounded by a cloud of white hot plasma, and the consequences resulting from this.

  45. This video is an important topic that, as a senior scientist and researcher, I would like to see progress with. Lei is brilliant at all aspects of Chinese culture and the shenanigans within the CCP; however, I can see that her weak spot in the present context, and I am sure she will agree, is the science and doing science research, and truly understanding its meaning, and through mathematical analysis of data. She needs to collaborate with an experienced researcher, and ideally somebody who is from one of the hard-core mathematical sciences, namely physics, chemistry, or applied maths. This, taken together with Lei's excellent communication skills, stands the best chance of making that much-needed progress. Possibly this is too late for episode two, but is there any chance of a sequel?

  48.  @drumpfdon760  Wrong - again. The classic lesson is the Weimar Republic in the early 1920s, where excessive borrowing and printing of money lead to hyperinflation and economic collapse. In more modern times, there are countries such as Zimbabwe in a similar situation. The problem with not having published, public data on the amount of money in circulation is that its true value cannot be determined. Thus, it means Reminbi cannot become a 'reserve currency' and all that this entails. . . . .
