  4. Usual suspects, nothing unusual at all,.. I do my best to avoid them which means we quit going downtown, then it got so bad we also quit going to the movies. The state fair was always sketchy so the last few times was only in the daytime, but it was still necessary to park and get inside. As for the mall, never ever use the food court or main entrance, instead park next to one of the major department stores and use their entrances. Do I lock my cars doors, you bet and yes I have crossed the street to avoid a group so according to Obama that alone makes me a racist. Oh well, I expect nothing more,

  9. I worked in corporate America my entire life, it's not unusual as a cost cutting measure to announce a 10% workforce reduction. This is something ALL Americans deal with, just because someone is a government employee that doesn't make them immune. One thing I do notice in all the scare articles about government employees losing their jobs, the organization is mentioned but never the actual jobs the affected persons were supposed to be doing.

  10. Over the years we've adopted several dogs, when our kids were kids the most important aspect was how a dog interacted with them. When our daughter was eleven the shelter we went to had several dogs that seemed to fit, our daughter sat on the floor and just watched the dogs play however one dog came and climbed in her lap. We had that wonderful little dog for 14 years then a few years ago our daughter with her children went to the shelter. The setup was different (one dog at a time), this time there was one dog that had loving eyes that followed our daughter everywhere. In the meeting room once again the dog chose her, then sniffed and snuggled to the kids. Been five years now and she is very much a part of the family. The idea of NOT allowing kids to interact with a dog before adoption is one of the most idiotic policies I could imagine.

  37. Although I usually vote on election day this time I'm voting early (tomorrow). One reason is the mail in ballot problem and I don't want to show up on election day and have them tell me I already voted by mail and must have just, forgot. Of course at that time you can cast a "Provisional" ballot but that will only be looked at IF there is a tie or a recount is necessary. And naturally it will never be investigated as to how that fraudulent mail-in ballot was accepted. So VOTE, VOTE early and VOTE in person.

Couple of redesigns ago they closed the street to vehicles, it was nice however the only problem is they also put a homeless shelter there, then wondered why so many undesirables occupied the new space. So last design the re-opened it to vehicles, put in fancy benches, trees, made it look real nice, but left the homeless shelter and wondered why it was occupied by so many lay abouts. Makes no difference what they do, the problems with those people will remain a problem, plus in my last trip (it was necessary) a pedestrian had to watch out for vehicles, homeless and, scooters not only flying down the sidewalks but also lying about for you to trip over. I don't think anything will ever drag me back downtown, just not worth it.

  43. RPD could make a lot of money if they stayed near that crossing and wrote traffic tickets for everyone who pulls up and stops on the tracks. That is assuming of course there is some law being broken by not stopping before the crossing. I used to go that way for lunch and there were always some idiots stopping on tracks, so just a matter of time.
