The "R" designation is not because it is "regional" ( it gets much better engines), but because they wanted to name is something silly. Being it a B ONE, so having an R at the end makes it funny (er).
592
Ofcourse they are not "supporting them", because they are them!
77
It's in honour of the AK47. The greatest rifle in the world.
31
Yep. J20 is obviously worse ( it's the Russian Mig 144), but they allegedly get them 120 airframes per year ( which is the same as F35A ~120 per year), which means that they would have thousands of them, and if they can't beat China in numbers, their only choice is to try and beat it in quality... Though for Russia. As far as I know, the Su57M is now officially a better plane. So to me, when I looked at that, I've realized that they ought to try and improve the F22, because it used to be the best one out of the bunch and it's now the worst...

I absolutely enjoyed this video. Please make it a series now. Thanks Alex.👍👍
26
Nobody else has it mate.
21
Good video overall as I've personally listed all of those points myself. i. e. Full 6th gen jet: 1 No tails. 2 Ability to control swarms of drones/ other crafts. 3 Improved radar, improved engine, improved stealth, improved missiles etc. That's the basic criteria for the 6th gen. Everything else is debatable.
14
@johnshite4656 We already know pretty much everything. Same goes for the B21 as well. The only question is will they have slightly better or slightly worse engines, and when will it finish it's testing and be finally released... Everything else is already known.
14
@jasontritabaugh6342 It's mission was "air dominance" it was created for that role and that is it's mission. So it's role is to take on J20A and Su57M . So it mission will depend on whether it will get to engage those adversaries or not. Guiding drones in is not really it's mission. It's just another role for the F35.
14
Well then it's a lie. Because it's not a 4th gen. It's a 5th gen stealth fighter.
14
Typical NAFO propaganda.
13
@markymarknj Mate, had he flown a Su57? Literally all of your assumptions about this highly classified plane are from the interwebs and you are pretending like you definitely know that it's a 4th gen fighter jet plane. 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂ The only objective reality that we can observe are the actual pictures of that plane online. Everything else is speculative. The definition of a stealthy 5th jet fighter plane, that we can observe, is it's slick design with an internal munition storage inside is fuselage. Tell me which fighter jets are designed with that capability in mind, and you will have your answer on which planes were designed as 5th gen fighter jet planes, be it good or bad 5th gen jets it doesn't matter. It was designed as a 5th gen fighter jet plane, and not as 4th gen (which is Su27 and Su 37 and alike). Starting from the Su 47 and their next iteration the Su 57 was designed that way, as a 5th gen fighter jet plane. You may think that it's a bad 5th gen it doesn't matter. It was designed by the Sukhoi engineers and confirmed many times on multiple occasions that it was a 5th gen fighter jet plane and was designed as such. Yet you get your armchair western generals in the comments saying that it's a 4th gen jet 🤦♂. Talk about swimming in bias... I can't get into the comments without my snorkeling mask, the bias towards Rus. tech. with those armchair generals is way too thick.
12
@JSBselvas it's not overrated it's a good plane. But of the "previous" 5th gen. There were two 5th gen planes in Russia in the 90s. The Mig 144 and Sukhoi Su47. The Su47 ended up just as an experimental plane and Mig 144 became the Chinese J20. Later Russia began a new and improved 5th gen program called the Su57, which they'd managed to finally bring up to speed, to their desired specs, in Su 57M. Which is a whole step up from their previous gen and requirements of the 5th gen planes. So it's a good plane better than any previous gen plane but not as as good as the F22 or the Su57.
11
@Elthenar Lol. On the contrary. It's good that 'merica didn't build more F22s because it's an extremely outdated craft that loses to every modern 5th jet fighter. The problem is not the F22 itself but that it didn't build an NGAD earlier. NGAD should have been in full series production in 2015, or at the very latest it should have been entering it in 2025 ( this year) but at the very best we would get it's full series production in 2035 (if even that)... which would already be late. And it should have been built much sooner to begin with.
8
Lol my message didn't even get posted. But you are right.
8
This video is literally a contradiction of itself. That "killswitch" is literally there in that it will severely downgrade it's operating capabilities. That's what that is in the first place. Same for all of the US made systems. There's a potential to use them, with reduced by 90% of their capabilities. That is what that "killswitch" is to begin with.
7
@johnathanclayton2887 Well they kinda do. People still want to apply generations to other crafts outside of fighters, so nothing gonna stop them. And technically speaking the 6th gen design is tailless design, so flying wings are pretty close to the idea of the 6th gen. So you can kinda stretch it and call them that.
7
@Xenomorphine EVERY stealth craft can be detected. The only question is of it's range, angles, and the radars (wavelengths) which are being used. The Su57 is the BEST 5th gen fighter in the world. Nothing comes even close. Same for the Chinese but it's the previous gen of Russian stealth as the J20 came from the Russia MFI Mig 144 project. Which was previous gen 5th gen (it's earlier Russian concepts). And yes both crafts are stealth and are 5th gen, they just have slightly different roles as per their doctrines so they operate slightly differently to each other. But they are all 5th gen.
6
There are around 30 Su 57 planes. However they are being produced. Unlike the US F22s which can not be produced anymore.
6
It hasn't been taken down. Just damaged. It's getting repaired.
6
That's why we should stop the US and it's bullying.
6
In reality we don't know know but in theory - yes. Depending on the conditions that they were put in.
5
Thank Alex for saying this!👍 Many people don't realize , that the F35 is NOT an air dominance craft. It's a bomber. And therefore can not be compared to the Su57 , F22 and J20 because they are of a different class/ role.
5
I was contemplating that too, but it's not 7. It's 2 or 3 generations at best. As it hasn't changed much. It was a double decked rectangular plane at first, then switched into the well known shape like the Il 2 or the Me 109 etc. And then the jet engines came by...
5
@ wait till you see Arcturus class subs... the best looking subs in the world.
5
@randym7961 in ya dreams. The reality of things speaks the opposite.
5
It was not about being good or not. It was a question of transfer of technologies. India is relying on technology transfers from Russia right up from the 90s. That includes the T90 tank production. The AK production factories. The rockets and propulsion productions. etc. It all had been started by Russia in India (including their whole Space industry). India wanted the same with the Su 57. Obviously at that point Russia had said it's too much. India wanted Russia to transfer the best 5th gen fighter jet in the world, transfer the technology and production into India. Which is obviously not acceptable by Russia. It would much rather sell older planes to India, it is just common sense. And got nothing to do with it being bad or good.
5
Russia had surpassed it a long time ago. The Su57 is the only aircraft of the Russian fleet that has never been shot down whilst actively flying in a combat zone. Which proves it's stealth capabilities. Nothing comes even close to it's stealth. Russian mil. aircraft engineering is unmatchable.
5
Not just the F22 (there are only 150 left btw), but every other plane. Like the B2 for example (there are only 18 left). And now they have to rush for a smaller and cheaper replacement of B21 precisely because they didn't produce enough in the first place.
5
Trust me. The Chinese media is much more free. The problem is that people do not have any experience with it, and are only being told about it form the western media itself. Which is biased towards it. I am neither a Chinese nor do I follow their media daily. But I did experienced and researched it to some parts. And it is much more free than that of the west.
5
@sarkaranish He makes lots of it. He is just slightly better than an average propagandist. But not a huge difference tbf.
5
@sarkaranish it is not false, he was biased just recently. Moreover this video itself is an absolute bias fest and hype... Though I admit, again, he is much better than most of the other channels. At least here I don't get insta banned. Most of the other channels are pristine in terms of thoughts and squeaky clean of any other opinion. So I get that he is probably genuinely trying to be honest and non biased. But he is not. Though his attempts are admirable.
5
@jaja9081 by 18th gen it's gonna be a flying saucer.
4
why not though? it would be a great beautiful country.
4
The irony of "homogenized" Chinese media... whilst there isn't a SINGLE alternate opinion on many allowed topics on this platform alone and in the western mainstream media in general. The Chinese so called "restrictive" media policies would feel like a breath of fresh air - total freedom if you compare to what we have here in the west now.
4
And MiG 25 wasn't a bad craft. It is still to this day the record holder, with the highest altitude achieved by a jet plane. 37 650 meters or 123 524 in feet. Nothing had even come close to it and it is the record holder to this day. The problem was that they didn't get what it was for, they thought it was a fighter which it was not. It was an interceptor... and the best interceptor for it's role.
4
They are two completely different crafts though. One is a steak knife the other one is a butter knife. Each have their own role that they do best.
4
@apolloaero only 150 of those planes can be used. So effectively only 150 of those F22s are left ( according to the official sources from the MOD). The F35 is a different type of plane, it's purpose supposed to be a swiss knife, but a swiss knife that is produced in China, so it's good at everything and at nothing at the same time. And only half of those planes can actually fly at this point. Comparing single engine jets to double engine jets is just plain wrong. It's different type and classification. Specifically with regards to the F35 plane. The only fair comprising could be made with the F22 and Su 57 planes. Except that Su 57 is actually being produced as we speak and the F22 can not be produced and will never be produced again. So the Su 57 pretty much comes out on top.
4
You are talking about the US right? The amount of corruption and broken crafts is unparalleled and unmatched by the rest of the world let alone China.
4
The Su25 literally flew with an electrical pole in it's engine, all the way back to base. Nothing comes even close to the resilience of the Su25.
4
By the 2031 there will only be 120 F22's left. it's not enough to guide anything sensibly.
4
@Not_So_Common_Sense tbf it's where it's been going for some time. But only for bomber aircrafts... Because bombers are easy... To actually let ai fly a fighter jet is much harder... it might happen though eventually...
4
That's actually a standard practice in the military to tie yourself up to the previous gen tech, has been a problem not just in the US, but any other military in the world.
4
Lol I was thinking the exact same thing. My finger was itching to skip it, but my mind was confused, is this an ad or not? lol... it's been going for too long now... lol
4
18:00 that's not true. Both Russia and China have better engines now. And nothing comes to the Russian Al51 it is the best fighter jet engine to date.
3
So basically it was a small update to say that we don't know anything yet?
3
Lucking certain technologies, doesn't mean that you can't make up for them. As was shown with their triple engine fighter. It literally solves all of the problems of not having powerful enough engines for the 5/6 gen crafts.
3
He had a good start I agree, however in the end it slipped into "the west is good and Russia is bad category" which is the absolute he was supposedly trying to avoid in the beginning.
3
@USS-SNAKE-ISLAND that's a lie. The Su 57 is a unique plane.
3
Surprise surprise an RC plane ( and cars) were always dangerous if used in warfare, especially if you extend it's range and throw a camera on there.
