Excellent work Lewis. Battlestorm is back and it was a great episode. Your new teammate must be working well for you
179
The Prussians invented wargaming. To represent random chance, or 'friction' as they termed it, they rolled dice. Certainly then, the Prussians didn't believe war could be calculated. God may not play dice, but Generals do

@paidgovernmentshill_6950 Well no, Marxism is the control of the means of production by the proletariat. Class based socialism was not the original socialism
83
He was famed for being extremely charismatic. That's why he's so scary, people fear that they would have been taken in. In fact, it is known that Goebbels didn't even like him when they first met.......
81
Christ TIK. He's already dead. You can stop kicking him now
47
TIK, YoungRippa59 has a channel where one of his videos comes to the same conclusion. Might be worth reaching out and sharing info
43
Yep. People who fail to keep it brief usually are trying to obfuscate. By way of contrast, see how von Mises or Sowell put their points across. It's as if they're being charged by the word
33
@TheImperatorKnight Don't worry, the value will if anything, go up in future. I can't see it being republished with the way the world is going
33
<Checks to see if this is still the best video on YouTube> Yep, it is.
27
@jimsackmanbusinesscoaching1344 What the electorate wants is impossible, politicians have to lie. People want free stuff but they also don't want to work more hours
26
Maybe it's an admission of how brutal it was
24
Or better yet, get a spy to go on a mission to reduce resistance
24
Hitting new levels of information density and multiple cross-referenced sources with this one. I'm a Subscribestar backer and I encourage everyone else to consider backing TIK as he continues his crusade of true WW2 knowledge
22
I wonder if Robert Heinlein had that in mind when writing 'Starship Troopers' The Federation only had 2 compulsory subjects. History and Civics.
15
'It's not that our 'liberal' friends are ignorant. It's that they know so much that isn't so'. Ronald Reagan from 'A time for choosing' a speech in support of Barry Goldwater
15
The Prussian theoreticians included a number of random and semi random factors which they called 'friction' I wonder if Askey has ever wondered why wargamers roll dice
14
Had me in the first half. Not gonna lie
14
@joshualoganhoi4 Always good to see a thinking man in action
13
Just like all socialists
13
Yep, he was People's Front of Judea, or was it the Judean People's Front? I forget
12
It wouldn't have happened with a free market. Prices would have forced a better allocation of resources
12
I agree. Had the breakout failed, they would have folded even more quickly, and perhaps Army Group A might have been trapped in the Caucasus
11
@sponandspon92 the Germans had already taken Stalino. So even if that mattered, it had already been done
11
They never had enough forces to form that reserve. The entire Fall Blau was predicated on the fact the USSR was ready to collapse
10
@0witw047 Central planning Rights based on group identity and hatred of an 'oppressor' group Wealth redistribution That'll do for starters
10
Another good one Lewis. I like these short form, theoretical videos
10
It might not even have been possible. Did they have enough vehicles and horses to outrun the Soviets?
10
Same happened in Venezuela
10
@damyr As the great Thomas Sowell would say 'compared to what?' If killing some people means saving more, then it's a justification. Please note I'm not trying to defend Hitler here, just explaining that the man was human, we all have the capacity for evil
10
'Churchill also wanted to bomb Dresden' I'm shocked, shocked I tell you
10
Excellent point
10
@TheImperatorKnight It's my favourite thing about the series - I'm reading the sources while watching your videos
10
@TheImperatorKnight I think it's meant to be 'Moosolini' Lewis

Everything changes. The appeal of socialism to the masses reduces drastically once they realise that Nazism is socialism. They then realise the entire left/right dichotomy has been falsely defined for nearly a century. They realise who the bad guys really are. They realise that people of other classes and races are not enemies. They realise that people are individuals and that everybody matters. It is the most important argument in 1,000 years
9
@nemiw4429 yes obviously, but because they were under armed and asked to defend a frontage vastly too large for them, not because they couldn't fight
9
London Agreement on German External Debts 1953 'The total under negotiation was 16 billion marks of debt resulting from the Treaty of Versailles after World War I which had not been paid in the 1930s, but which Germany decided to repay to restore its reputation. This money was owed to government and private banks in the U.S., France and Britain. Another 16 billion marks represented post-war loans by the U.S. Under the London Agreement, the repayable amount was reduced by 50% to about 15 billion marks and stretched out over 30 years, and compared to the fast-growing German economy were of minor impact.' 'Part of her back interest...' In actuality was fully half of the total interest and principal
9
@dirremoire That's the job of the person arguing from the other side. I'm not surprised you find that's in our British character, our legal system works this way also
8
@TheImperatorKnight your channel is a gateway to them selling more books and that can only be a good thing
8
Yes, because QE has inflated asset prices. Who started the QE? Ah yes, the State
8
Bloody hell, I've never seen this debate encapsulated so well. Masterful comment. Meanwhile; capitalism is an onion
8
@timacbluke7017 No, he's right about that. The non-socialist version is known as a private limited company where the shares are not open to the entire public to buy
8
@walterbailey2950 the term 'privatisation' doesn't mean the same thing in liberalism than it does in national socialism. You're making our points for us
7
Indeed, the area where this is made most stark is investing. And unlike social 'sciences' it's easy to measure success in investing
7
Indeed, but it would have meant depriving their own forces. Germany just didn't have a big enough arms industry and efficient enough logistics to fight the war which transpired
7
That's true, but stems from incorrect USSR propaganda.
7
Very sound reasoning. Arthur Laffer did some good work in this field, although that was focused on what percentage tax rate yielded the best $ tax take. The starting assumption is that a zero tax rate yields zero tax $, and a 100% tax rate also yields zero $ (as no one would work or invest). If you see the tax take as a proxy for people's willingness to contribute, then I think it is very telling in a wider sense.
7
@tancreddehauteville764 Because that's double the estimate the SS was ordered to come up with - did you watch the video?
6
Oh we'll see about that!
6
@donaldhysa4836 the number of factors is endless. Luck, weather, supplies, morale, air support, intel.....
6
@aerialmacaroon6312 The funny thing is Looney Tunes actually did cartoons featuring Hitler and Mussolini
