I think Paulus had the manpower to hold the defensive line on the Volga. From then, it's repulse Uranus and allow Army Group A to seize the oil. Desperate stuff, but they had little choice
2
Wow, the best condemnation of academia I have ever read. Well done, though you were unware you were doing it
2
Yes, and one of those countries was Britain, funnily enough
2
To be even more of a hair splitter, none of the places you mentioned were 'nations'. Nationalism is only a few hundred years old
2
@TheImperatorKnight Yay! Your Battle Atlases are running in reverse order on your shelf though. Aaaaargh!
2
Yeah he is famous for his rigour in one topic and then magically can't get it right in another, despite the fact that both involve him reading multiple sources and using the same techniques. Hmmmmm
2
Britain was already decolonising Canada and Australia, as proven by their Dominion status. This was also offered to India, and voted for in their election before WW2. I find it hard to believe you are actually a history addict
2
@MintyLime703 Indeed, but no country in the world fits that description, because of central banking
2
@TheImperatorKnight There is a crude inflation debuff if you play as Nationalist China
2
People who play with definitions are usually being dishonest
2
See if such a thing as 'salary sacrifice' exists in Sweden. This is how it works; You tell your employer to keep some of your salary (say 25%) and put it into the company pension. This means your actual salary is reduced, so you save on income AND payroll taxes. This way, I saved on UK income tax and National Insurance. By the time you retire, your income will be lower anyway so you won't be paying the tax back
2
That attacker doesn't always have any of those advantages, never mind them all
2
Give them time.....
2
Actually it's because of tribalism that we have. The Neanderthals were reputedly less tribal
2
The way I see it, the Nazis fit in the broad socialism umbrella but they are different to other socialists, like Marxists and Fascists, or Falangists. There seems to be this burning need for Marxists to get us to believe the NSDAP isn't socialist - why bother? We know they weren't Marxist - what's the problem?
2
He was trying to save/balance the economy - I reckon he would have and that's why he was punted
2
It's one of the reasons I support the channel
2
@alecjones4135 No bother my man. I lean to the Austrian school myself. But Sowell is the best teacher and he is a Chicago man
2
Jesus Steven, could you punctuate that?
2
'but, the "good" people of the group should have then fought to stop the bad people of their group. If they stay passive in a way they are also guilty and thus they suffer.' No. Not in any sane world whatsoever can inaction be equated with evil action. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to see a psychologist. If that's what you believe, it's no wonder you disagree with TIK on socialism
2
They were devastating when correctly employed
2
@TheImperatorKnight Excellent comment - couldn't agree more
2
@markcollins2704 This is Academic Agent's take, and he argues well for it
2
@alexeyvlasenko6622 Anyone who owns shares 'owns the means of production'. As that includes pension funds, that covers the vast majority of the population (including children)
2
@Mitch93 That's Disturbed mate. For shame
2
Nice, Razorfist is great
2
@jjcustard6378 yep. It was an interesting video
2
@MrYannisMendez Except for the Kulaks of course
2
@0witw047 everything was controlled by appointees of the Office of the 4 Year Plan. Try watching the videos. That's like my employer having to ask Boris Johnson for permission to hire someone
2
But wasn't the Demyansk pocket a lot smaller than the Stalingrad pocket?
2
'dictatorship FOR the proletariat.' AKA Absolute Monarchy
2
City states were typically formed into leagues though. Some with more autonomy, and some with less (looking at you Athenai)
2
@TheImperatorKnight Bloody hell Lewis, that was a valiant attempt - I enjoyed reading it!
2
They are usually poorly-concealed F-scale tests
2
And why did most of their best ones die in Russia in 1941?
2
@NietzscheanMan Very true. Immigration is only a burden because we have welfare systems which the natives have been paying for all their lives. No welfare, no problem
2
He's like Hitler in that he has an authoritarian and utopian attitude
2
@ИгорьПищулин-ю7э I do. In Afghanistan
2
@olegredko7813 It's missing the 'o' but that's his name!
2
Germans are George Foreman. Soviets are Muhammad Ali. Classic 'rope-a-dope'
2
Best of luck with the job hunting from a fellow Scot!
2
@alanpennie Agreed. It was either; lose 6th Army, or lose Army Group A
2
There's always 'World at War' for normies with short attention spans
2
@lilpitt4860 I saw a video about how some people can't process predicate abstraction. That is, if you asked them how they would feel had they skipped breakfast, they reply 'But I didn't skip breakfast' Crazy stuff
2
@crazyyyyy2945 I have War in the East 2. A couple of months in and I'm still learning
2
@Gurhammer I have seen a few cases where 'an' would have been used in your sentence (from native English speakers)
2
Excellent, another Battlestorm Monday
2
Not really. They have the same end goal but differed on how it could be achieved 'But a long time of developement on the socialist side. Sweden, Norway and Denmark really would want to have a word with you about NOT beeing communist. ' They'd have a word with you about not being socialist too
2
Comes of having a far flung empire ruled by trade and consensus rather than force
