The Romanian supply was nowhere near enough to supply the Heer, never mind the Kriegsmarine and the Luftwaffe
2
I agree, I don't even see him as fascist at all frankly, but a Carlist reactionary
2
@Edax_Royeaux I have a feeling the soldiers may want to defend themselves. Certainly the Singapore garrison regretted their surrender
2
I have all the Glantz volumes on Fall Blau - there are passages you can scan quickly through and others which need deeper study. You probably don't need the appendix (book 5) though
2
Aye, Chuikov likely had his confidence dented but he was an insanely brave man - it was never suggested he was a coward
2
@fakeorchestra4260 Yeah it's bizarre, but his reaction seems genuine
2
Now that is an interesting endeavour
2
Sorry to pick the tiniest nit in a well-written comment but; 'Dialectitians are not so stupid, or they would've disappeared long ago. ' Are we saying stupid ideas don't have prevalence? I see quite a few that have stood the test of time!
2
In practical terms, he probably is. I mean almost every Democracy in history was an Oligarchy of varying breadths.
2
Sorry to disappoint, but in British English it is indeed 'your anus'
2
'So you have to make here a tradeoff between either pandering to people who already agree with you, or attract new people who do not yet agree with you.' It might also be wise to factor in who is paying with likes and who is paying with £/$
2
I am pretty sure they were
2
'That's something the Brits have always been incapable of understanding: wars are not won at sea,' Well apart from WW1 and WW2 you mean. Germany would have cantered to victory during both without the Royal Navy blockades. It would be more accurate to say that major wars are ONLY won by naval powers
2
@TheImperatorKnight I work in a big company, and it's run on socialist lines. No one wants to be more efficient or save money, and the more you slack the more someone else has to come in and help you
2
@CruelDwarf I would class the Panther as clearly superior, that is the later models which were more reliable - but I agree with everything else you said. People don't realise the Russians improved their tanks in series. T-34s in 1944 had few of the weaknesses they had in 1941
2
You're right. Fascism and National Socialism are also forms of socialism
2
The biggest problem with racism? It blinds you to enemies in your midst who look like you
2
@Jonathan Jones It's his magnum opus
2
@Grandoko There's nothing quite like fraternal hatred
2
@TheImperatorKnight Will do. I made some pretty significant crypto gains and before that in the stock market. I bailed just before the pan-thingy
2
Aaaaaand your comment was to me was deleted. Whomever is doing this, you're not hurting us, we don't care
2
Now it's back! Weird
2
Indeed, the mainstream seem to base their knowledge of the political spectrum on Bolshevik propaganda
2
Vehicles, tanks, ships and planes do not run on coal. The conversion of coal to oil was inefficient and extremely expensive
2
Sounds like 'wanker' I guess
2
That is not bad reasoning you are using but you need to realise Labour have changed too. They are the party of the public sector professional now. So if you are on £60,000/year working for the council then by all means Labour will look after you
2
@archdornan3068 True, but the Labour party was never all that socialist - it was trade unionist, and there is a difference
2
@Federico-cc7hc 'It's the duality of man sir!'
2
@chaptermasterpedrokantor1623 True, and the logistical and infrastructure situation would cap how many forces anyone could commit to North Africa anyway
2
Yes that's the point in the map. Many in the West recognize the De Jure claims Taiwan has on the entire Chinese mainland
2
@zigoter2185 Be wary of jewellery - it is not a dependable store of value. Get coins or assayed bars only! Crypto currency is volatile, but could still be useful
1
The ones calling the shots are very wealthy - it's only their rank and file who are poor

Hi Nigel
1
@thevillaaston7811 'The Sherman was no more use than contemporary British machines in the tank's prime task, fighting enemy tanks.' I agree with everything else you say, but that's a tank destroyer's main role, rather than a tank. Smaller, high velocity shells fired from longer barrels aren't much use to tanks under most circumstances, so you typically saw them on tanks specialised for the tank hunting role, like the fearsome Sherman Firefly
1
That may be true theoretically, but what force exists for wealth redistribution which doesn't mean a more powerful government? Or if you prefer, can you tell me about a left-wing policy which doesn't increase the power and purview of the state? I'm not being rhetorical, I would be interested to know
1
@untruelie2640 Well that is a policy that you will find the Right supporting in the UK and US (Vouchers and academy schools). I guess it's not impossible that 'Die Linke?' would adopt a right-wing policy, especially if it works
1
@untruelie2640 And that 'die Linke' isn't necessarily behaving in a left-wing way!
1
@konstancemakjaveli Based Cloggies, hail!
1
Are you giving a ban of communism as an example of a state not being fascist?
1
And the Dambusters couldn't have blown a hydro dam?
1
@nukclear2741 sure I saw Jeremy Corbyn too
1
One of the many problems with Marx is his fixation on Labour Theory of Value. So the person who risked his savings starting the company, or the person who came up with the idea for the business, they don't matter? Only the people who work there do? Why then would you bother starting a business?
1
@crazybluechicken If his points are so weak could you have a go at countering them?
1
@antonjohansson3819 men tend to break when they believe they've been outflanked or if there's no other units supporting them. A rout was set off by accident at the battle of Pharsalus when several units were repositioned by the general. Sometimes it's less that the men are running from the enemy outright, but rather they are trying to avoid an encirclement so they can counter attack later. Better than running out of supplies and being forced to surrender. Fighting the Germans to the bitter end during the battles of 1941 did the Russians no favours whatsoever, unlike in late 1942 when the Germans were at full stretch
1
So his New Deal doesn't resemble European style central planning in any way? You didn't read about how he thought Mussolini's programs were effective?
1
Not everyone watching is 'swine', neutral people may be swayed by watching it. TIK it's a biblical verse meaning don't waste wisdom on idiots
1
If we want to avoid something it helps if we know what it looks like
1
@jsanders9975 Why don't you blame the Japanese for the Bengal Famine? Is it because you hold the British to higher standards? Maybe you could think why it is you do that
1
Nuh-uh. All Marxists did was define race as class!
1
Only because he wasn't in government. The Bolsheviks were certainly up for the civil war weren't they
