No. It's a ponzi scheme. Next...

Brexit was a stupid idea.
6
No we're not.
5
Reform would be an absolute disaster in the UK. Careful what you wish for.

@MrJeffHead (Implemented and in progress ) New workers rights bill, negotiated a 22% raise for healthcare workers, Great British energy, shaking up ofsted, Councils will be allowed to run local buses. Pedestrianise Oxford street. Free breakfast for primary schools starting next year. Homes for heros. Foundation apprenticehips. £10bn AI project in Northumberland. £22bn for projects to capture and store carbon emissions from energy, industry and hydrogen production. Buying back 36,347 military homes. Largest ever cash boost to turn the tide on homelessness. State schools to receive £1.7bn boost from scrapping private school VAT break. Just a few.
5
@AK-np4rp No it hasn't. Don't talk daft populist nonsense.
5
Can you point me to somewhere where Labour are even talking about Charter cities.
5
Read Liam Byrne's book "The inequality of wealth." IMO possibly one of the best books on this subject out there.
5
Corbyn would have been a disaster.
5
Says the guy promoting social populism.
5
The markets have tanked completely here for no other reason than Trump. There are definitively institutional insiders using this opportunity to scare retail investors into selling ( as per usual ) Whether this is Trump himself or just institutions using the opportunity here we'll never know. Advance knowledge of tariff announcements could definitely be used for insider trading though. There are a lot of shorts out there at preset for sure.
5
@bumpty9830 Err, yes we do.
5
@JacksonFairweather It says to me that it's a great big speculative bubble fueled by greater fool theory.
5
So is Murphy.
4
Wtf does this have to do with the tech industrial complex?
4
Ironically though you are just Richard from accounts.
4
@gj55223 I don't think he has an alternative version. I mean, he was seemingly one of the brains behind corbynomics which advocated "quantitative easing for people not banks" but how exactly that was going to be set in motion is anyone's guess.
4
Labour aren't jumping on any right wing idea.. why are you talking utter BS?
4
Would be nice. Thing is though every time we try to tax the rich or close tax loopholes they massively kick off, play the victim and start deflecting the rhetoric to suit themselves.
4
Are you just going to just completely ignore how well Starmer is handling all of this and trying to broker a peace deal?
4
Agreed. A lot of people don't want to know though, they'd rather have the money in the bank or a low interest savings account doing nothing.
4
@ Way too simplistic and unregulated.
4
@ It's a ponzi scheme.
4
It is, there's a whole House of Commons library section on the AI debate.
4
Hindsight is a wonderful thing though, If I'd pumped my own small inheritance into Nvidia stock back in 1992 I'd be an extremely rich man now.
4
@ davidorr484 And Compulsory military service. Yeah, good luck with that here.
4
Money is a powerful motive for most people.
4
Seriously?
4
Green are hideous, they couldn't run a tap.
4
The 3rd runway has been on the cards for decades my friend.
4
This is one of the problems though, if most businesses are using the same modus operandi, you need a job, there's nowhere left to go, then you now have no option but to just suck it up.
4
That's because there are way too many cars on the road. It's not that you're stuck in traffic, it's that you are the traffic.
4
@asumazilla The Lords are not voted in by the public. Nor should they be.
4
@krismacg5673 I live in Westminster, the problem is here too.
4
True. However I don't think we should hide from Trump as Murphy suggests here. Starmer is surely going over there to find out what he's about. I mean know your enemy and all that.
4
@Ganyersel Well said.
4
The BOE is independent. It's not an idea, it's a fact Murphy. Gorden Brown saw to that. Surely you know this though... right?
4
@RichardJMurphy Oh dear. I've actually read it. The Bank of England Act 1998 granted operational independence over monetary policy to the Bank. Maybe you should read it.
4
I think he's just expecting to dump them at the border.
4
Labour are not far left. Not far left enough for Murphy that's for sure.
4
Why do you think this?
4
@SlowhandGreg Sure, batteries. We're talking about the whole of the UK here, domestic, commercial and industrial. You're going to need one hell of a lot of plug and play batteries for that to be an efficient and scalable backup system. I mean, you do realise how much oil and gas we burn per day to keep the lights on or the sheer scale of the problem here?
4
It's also lousy if you've tried it. And it still runs on Nvidia hardware.
4
Easy fix eh?
4
@SarahWalker-Smith I observe, watch and read many different viewpoints from markets, to politics to macroeconomics thanks. We're nowhere near as bad as what's happening in the US right now. Period. What's happening there is complete chaos. We ever get someone like Farrage in power here and all that may change though.
4
You answered your own question, they dont get involved. Now where's your video on how well Starmer dealt with Trump?
4
@archvaldor Nope.
4
@lindafielding6733 That was AV ( alternative vote ) a ranked-choice voting system where voters rank candidates in order of preference instead of just choosing one. It was defeated by a "No" vote of 67.9%, keeping FPTP in place. The turnout was really low though. The public weren't really interested.
4
Muprhy hates Starmer, anything for a dig.
3
@oscartrain1151. LoL Better than your populist lizard brain take I guess.
