The single biggest con to my mind occurred when women were thrust into the workplace. What used to be affordable and reachable on one wage not so long ago at all, now requires 2 wages coming into a household. Shouldn't we have been twice as better off? No, we shouldn't, instead we have to spend a fortune, mentally and financially on paying strangers to look after the few children we can afford to bring into being.

Thay whole section had me laughing, just what the people who came up with this bollix ought to have done when they took the time to read it in the light of day.

It's as simple as saying this: "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". That's what all of this is about, a series of separate, interlinking and good intentioned ideas which add up to a monster.

@Amelia Ann Houck I agree. Entirely. My mum told me of "womens work" from her remembering and her experience of her mums. It was damned hard! I would never say that women shouldn't be allowed to work, just that it hasn't made people any better off for choosing to do so. Hence the "con".

@tony growley I assume you're pointing comment at the first post, if so, then I must say at no point do I blame women, or say they shouldn't work, I am agreeing that the issue is the "con" where we appear no better off for it and to add, in several ways less better off.
