I work in laboratory services in a major city hospital. In my section there are 47 people on the roster. Out of that 47 people, there are 4 white blokes. We are run by 2 band 8 female managers. Not even to mention the over employment of BAME within that number, which happens to be 32 from a visible minority. The place is struggling to keep afloat professionally, a joyless mess that borders on malpractice and misery much of the time. This is a big change, labs used to be a male dominated area, it's now flipped. I'm not saying that it was any "better" but one thing tells me that isnt right...it is this...none of the women are any happier either! They are constantly off sick, just yesterday I had one of the band 7 managers crying on me when she came in on handover. The day before another broke down after making a mistake and just went home. So now we are at a point where the service suffers terribly and people are unhappy at work. We run a hospital laboratory service, not a pet food factory. I am in despair and very tired of it all as well as being plain tired.

I've found the BBC quite funny recently in how they seem to go out of their way to find the women fighters in that conflict.

@katielain6519 wasnt by any means just the feminists. I seem to recall men like Mark Drakeford and Hamza whatshisname of the SNP going for this also.

@alexbit7675 does the term "a different worse" mean anything to you? The old days were utterly professional, pride was taken in producing reliable accurate results, but it was a difficult workplace with many egos in the way of other improvements. I've probably not explained myself well in this regard and I'd love to hear more from you respectfully if possible.

It would have little effect on the things that people would see every day. For instance heath services are now almost completely dominated by women.

@alexbit7675 Avoid saying what in your opinion? Genuinely curious. I thought I was clear with what I was saying but I'm happy to be corrected. Feel as though we are at cross purposes here agreeing on the same thing but missing each others point.
