Im Irish by birth, but my ancestry is west midlands UK, I remember visiting london in around 1986 when my uncle who lived in Guildford wanted to show us the museums. How wonderful an experience that was. Even my own education in Ireland was very balanced regarding the UK and its role in the world, I came to admire it greatly especially the fortitude of character it took to stand alone in WW2 in the early years of the war. Especially again the vast amount of inventions and industrial advancements that great swathes of the world enjoy. I have lived in the UK now for nearly 30 years having served 23 years in the forces also. It saddens me utterly to see how London has declined to a sort of "acceptable mediocrity" at best, or at worst a sort of "Failed state" in the making. Riven with diversity while at the same time celebrating it and demanding it at every turn in much the same way a drug addict demands more of the substance killing them. It is a lunacy beyond compare and few other places in the world, least of all those where the diversity hails from would accept it. Madness beyond any comprehension.

@39doddle funnily enough i was in Galway a few weeks ago, I came back to Ireland to care for my mum for a few weeks to give my brother a break. Mum suggested a visit to Galway as something to do. Off we went. I can sadly see that the grip of the "current fashionable thing" of "multiculturalism" has taken hold in a big way there too. I spoke to several shop owners who told me of the rising crime rate, stuff you'd never see in a place like Galway. As I told them, diversity is THEIR strength not ours, the thought hadn't seem to occur to them but it was funny watching the realisation cross their minds after being told so long that it was "OUR strength".

@user-wm2tw the ones coming now are parasites, they bring nothing with them only their feckless cultures and conflicts within those cultures. I suspect you celebrate this gleefully. Knowing nothing of where you are based I suspect it isn't the UK however.
