  1. The other thing that history teaches, or at least helps one to comprehend, are the origins of current affairs and modern conflicts. It gives us some perspective on why things happened, not just what happened. It can also provide tools to help us avoid similar mistakes in the future.

  2. I have always thought that one reason why people consider history to be boring is because they only teach who did what and when. They seldom go into the reasons for the conflict or important event, and how this impacted history going forward. I think if the importance of events on the development of cultures and civilizations was discussed more, people might be more interested in history.
