6:45 Minor correction. There was a copper age in central Europe, at least, as demonstrated by "Ötzi, the Iceman", the mummified man found in the Alps in 1991. Ötzi was carrying a copper axe.

@esti-od1mz I think they traced a lot of the goods he was carrying to an area north of the alps, though. So he appears to have been travelling south when he died.

I just love the irony of it. The Hindu left-hand swastika symbolizes fortune and health, while the right-handed swastika (used by the Nazis) means decline and death. Pretty much says everything one needs to know about Nazism.

I also love the irony that the expedition was searching for the origins of the pure Aryan race. Which, as modern genetics tells us, was created by the interbreeding of Homo sapiens with Homo neanderthalensis (Neanderthals). And that all the traits they were looking for (blond hair, blue eyes and fair skin) are all Neanderthal traits. Plus, they are examining Tibetans, who are descendants of the interbreeding of H. sapiens and H. denisova, so they aren't pure blooded either. In fact, ironies of ironies, the only pure-blooded Homo sapiens mostly live in Africa south of the Sahara. I sometimes think it would be absolutely hilarious to have a large number of scientific papers on human genetics fall through a time warp into Germany during the 1930s and watch the reaction of the Nazis when they realize all their race theories are completely delusional and have absolutely no basis in fact.

40:00 I would disagree with the statement that these cults are arising to fill a void left by orthodox faiths. I think it is more likely that people flock to these cults because the cults tell them what they are predisposed to hear, not what the need to hear. Rather like how children will often listen to the classmates or friends in preference to their parents. Or attempt to acquire knowledge from the internet in preference to what is written in peer reviewed scientific journals.
