  1. TIK, as I mentioned previously, I have no difficulty believing this. My mother, who was a member of an AA unit with the British Army at the end of WW2 talked about this episode of the war. It is also in line with the way Stalin thought and acted throughout the war. Who else arrested and sent to concentration camps (or had executed, if they were unlucky) soldiers who escaped encirclements or captivity? The sad part about his whole sordid episode is that the Allies aided and abetted in it. And why are there no Soviet sources on this? Because very few individuals would have been in a position to talk about it, and any who did were likely "disappeared" by the NKVD or other security apparatuses of the "free and open" Soviet state.
