  5. Good video, Carol. I figured everyone coming to this channel already knew about the LTVAs, but I guess not. Lol. I was surprised at how many comments you got where people had no idea what they are. Since that's the case, I do think it would be helpful if you also made a video explaining regular BLM land and the stay limits. Most of it is 14 days, but not always. It depends on the location. You might also want to let people know of National Forest land where we can also recreate. There is boondocking available within most NFs. I've overnighted in a NF in Indiana and in Nebraska. We have forests in almost every state, while BLM land is pretty much just out west.

  7. My tip would be that if you're considering using any of these options, make sure to have appropriate window coverings. I battled with that on my 12-day trip to Idaho and back when I went to pick up my rig. I was using sheer (but at least colored) sarongs as makeshift covers for the front side windows, and I had to use my blanket in the front windshield on my way out west because the windshield cover I had for the Suburban wouldn't fit in the small windshield of the rental SUV. Lol. The Suburban's back windows are very dark tint and the rental was full of my stuff in the back, so that part wasn't too bad. None of this was very private, however. I couldn't stay in truck stops and parking lots. Everything had to be paid camping (and a night in a motel) except for when I found public lands, and also Honey's Park in Arco, Idaho--which is a free private campground. So definitely plan your privacy curtains or whatever ahead of time. If you're in the same situation I found myself in, just make sure to take thicker fabric and a bunch of different clips and clamps so you can at least make faux window covers for whatever type of vehicle you might be driving.

  16. There will be cuts, as appropriate. Cuts in unnecessary spending, cuts on illegals, cuts on dead people, cuts on people abusing the system, etc. If you're legal and eligible, you won't see a decrease in your benefits. If you do, then you should certainly talk to your state rep. The whole point is to cut overall spending so that the eligible citizens get what they need.

  25. I am recovering also. Lol. I had to lessen my standards many years ago when I was ill. Since then, I've learned to respect the limitations in myself and others. Now I just do my best. If it turns out perfect, then all the better. Lol.

I hope they're caught and prosecuted. 9:35 mark: You can also find battery powered neon-orange emergency "flare" discs that are magnetic so you can stick them to the sides and back of your vehicle. I have a set of 3. I don't keep the batteries installed in them all the time, so that they don't get battery corrosion over time. I just make sure to have AAA batteries in the bag that the discs came in, along with a small screwdriver to take off the back of the battery compartment. Of course, this type of flare is mostly useful at night or low light conditions.

  41. You're doing a great job, Carol. It can be hard to get rid of stuff, especially if you've ever been through a period of life when you were lacking. Eventually, though, it can wear you down and your belongings start to own you. It's been hard for me to downsize, and I still need a storage unit. Sigh....

  50. Great video, Carol. I'm starting out with the free Movie Maker that used to be on Windows. In my experience, it takes less bandwidth to do one long video and just add annotations to it. I can't chop it up so I have to let it go as is. I can only add notes to it in my editing. When I do create videos with multiple clips, it always ends up taking longer to encode and to upload to yt.
