  1. Actually it's a lot more important than it seems, this story. Eccentric dress is not only something that should be regarded as harmless, I'd even go so far as to say it's important that children see all manner of forms of personal expression. Some of the worst human behaviour can be found among young people, in schools, around fashion and the culture of clothing. I think rules like this exacerbate the issue.

  8.  @southsider9638  She never uses cue cards or notes. She knows American history like the back of her hand. Not to mention philosophy, psychology and systems theory. She can quote Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, then compare it to something from the Talmud or the Bible, and then bring it to bear on a cohesive political point.

  11.  @Philbert-s2c  she said she's for universal healthcare in a town hall. She was more convincing than Booker (who I also love), but he was like "we have to find a pathway to Medicare for all". "Pathway"? Hmmm. I admit she wasn't as clear about foreign policy. She did say she'd pay more attention to the intelligence bureau than Trump does when dealing with North Korea, but that's a bit duh.

It's not only the fact that she can quote the Bible, the Talmud, the Dalai Lama, Martin Luther king, and Nelson Mandela, and tie it all together, and apply it to public policy. It's not only the fact that she knows the history of America at a federal level, she also knows the history state by state, it's that there are no cue cards or prompters! This is all in her head! She remembers it, and can rattle it all off at a moment's notice, because she lives and breathes it. She understands what connects to what, and why it's relevant. Am I crazy for thinking these are precisely presidential qualities?

  23. She has identified the current problem as the hydra of Big Pharma, Defense Contractors, Health Insurance Companies, etcetera. She does the list better than me, but it sounded to me like she was saying to abolish dark money. She said the transfer of wealth to the top one percent was a theft.
