  3. Chocolate is toxic to racoons and lots of other animals too including dogs and cats. It's best to give them non-chocolate cookies if you care about them.

  4. That seems a definite possibility. Half my city requires bear proof trash containers and I cringe when I see a container from the other half that an animal has rummaged through.

  6. Fake charging is just standard behavior for black bears. It's instinct to moving on her flank. They very rarely go through with a charge more than a couple steps. Surprisingly, even grizzly bears don't always attack when they charge.
