  2. Austin Texas’s homeless has doubled in the last year and a half. Thanks to the northern states who bussed them down here during the winter months. Someone in Austin has proof of a police officer who drove homeless people from San Antonio to Austin and dropped them off because San Antonio doesn’t allow encampments. Thankfully we voted about a month or so ago to ban encampments throughout the entire state and it passed. The cleanup process has begun.

  7. @Banter Maestro2 mostly they’re about 2” deep. I’m a full time rideshare driver so I drive all over Austin. But I’ve seen some that were deeper and had to swerve to miss them. And we won’t talk about the potholes I’ve seen that are 4” deep. I really don’t understand why the DOT isn’t out there repaving or repairing these. They have to have designated employees who go out to see what streets need work done, don’t you think?

  34. Orlando??? Lol I lived there for 23 years and it’s a no for me. Too humid and too many tourists. It got boring. The only thing I miss about Florida now are the gulf coast beaches. Otherwise I don’t miss Florida.

  41. Stay away from Stafford County in VA. Crime is getting worse by the minute. I lived there for five years and I’m glad I moved to Austin Texas. Alexandria Virginia is my favorite place there but very expensive to live. No way would I move to any northern states after the five years of winters in Virginia. Although we didn’t get much snow in Fredericksburg it was too cold for me. I’m a Florida girl, I lived in Florida for 26 years. Now I live in Austin Texas and it is booming here. I read 1000 people per day are moving here and when I first moved here four years ago it was 167 people per day, that’s how fast it’s growing. We can’t keep up with the infrastructure but they are definitely keeping up building homes and new apartment complexes because they are popping up everywhere! And we finally have control of the homeless population here. It was really bad. About 75% of them have been moved into transition housing (old motels). It is now illegal for homeless to set up camp in any part of Texas. The only bad thing about Austin is that our police force was defunded so we have a lot less cops and crime has risen 200% in the past year because of that. If something of yours is stolen, forget about calling the police because they don’t have any available to come out and write up a report to investigate. They won’t even come to a car accident unless it’s practically fatal. Other than the defunding of police, I love it here in Austin.

  42.  @RD-nq7fl  traffic isn’t horrible. At least it moves. I’ve lived in cities where traffic was at a standstill for hours. Stop complaining. I do agree housing isn’t affordable. But our traffic is nothing compared to other cities.

  46.  @connorhinds32  I’m just saying I know what fast growth is like and I’m pretty sure Austin is growing a hell of a lot faster than Sarasota is. And I’m not the only one who commented about a larger city. Someone else mentioned how fast Phoenix has grown yet you target my comment? Grow tf up!

  50. Way too many Californians moving to Austin, Texas! I’m an Uber driver in Austin and I see a lot more cars from California and Florida than any other state!
