I feel so bad for the innocent people having to live in these unstable geographical locations where landslides, tsunamis, intense storms and cataclysms is the norm. I hope assistance is delivered rapidly so the affects residents and places can recover ASAP. God bless you Philliphines

Much respect to Lee Hsien Loong and his beautiful country of Singapore. The world would be a much better place if more countries adjusted their societal model to Singapore.

Such a humble and respectable man with a great political platform. We need this type of PM here in Sweden, desperately.

Russian authorities and their spies has a tendency to fail and make mistakes during their operations. Many have been exposed. Remember when Navalny pretended to work at FSB to receive details about the assassination attempt against him? The incompetence seem to run deep.
38
I doubt Russian authorities would manage to poison an agent who managed to reveal classified details about the Navalny poisoning after being deceived by a randomized non-agent. Just listen to how laughable that sounds. If this level of incompetence prevails within the inner intelligence service circles in Russia, perhaps the country shouldn't be as feared as it is.
38
Imagine letting a flying mini-robot trespass into your sovereign nation without immediately destroying it.
34
Cutting in line, risking your life, and committing a crime shouldn't be encouraged and won't ever solve the core of the issue in my opinion
32
@michaelrose2443 Eww. That's a depraved lie to peddle.
32
And BBC will probably focus on silencing the language used to accurately describe why this happened, what type of person this likely was, and what measures should be implemented to rectify our societal flaws. Wouldn't be surprising at least, since they censored a Faulty Towers episode recently, and never brings up certain contentious perspectives when these 'accidents' occurs.
32
20 years of attempting to destroy the Taliban and its previous/future rule, to now giving concessions and letting a new generation of the Taliban start to rule once again. This is far from promising.
31
@richardkent9275 The "great reset" isn't a thing. It's some foolish slogan expressed by those not caring about the pandemic. Even if there's a "reset", in order to adjust to handle flaws, that'd be positive.

Most women are looking for comfort, security and protection by a strong partner that can ensure the family's welfare, provide financially, and deter threats. That's why it's difficult for women to fall in love and stay with individuals that on the surface appears as short gnomes or dwarves. It's unfortunate for those that obviously can't change the characteristics they were born with, but that's the biological fact of the matter and the tough reality.
25
Looked it up quickly: "Sea foam forms when dissolved organic matter in the ocean is churned up. Algal blooms are one common source of thick sea foams. When large blooms of algae decay offshore, great amounts of decaying algal matter often wash ashore. Foam forms as this organic matter is churned up by the surf." Stormy weather in combination of lots of waste/algae blooms were must've exacerbated the creation of foam in no time.

People die all the time in Chad due to how violent the country is. The army is probably provided with many benefits and merits, so I doubt they'd need to shoot the president just to retrieve power. The rebels likely took him out instead. He's been a president for 30 years, I presume his army and associates would've taken him out long ago if they wished to do so.
23
@Crescent-IV Well, this man isn't just all talk. He leads and has built up a powerful country where the people are safe and satisfied.
22
@EoRdE6 You'd think that there'd exist technology that could mitigate or prevent icy roads from establishing itself in the 21st century, to decrease the number of crashes.
20
300 virgin rebels were slaughtered by the army full of Chads yesterday. The Chad president decided to showcase that he indeed is Chad on the battlefield, but was downgraded to a virgin accordingly. A risk which wasn't worth taking. Jokes aside, RIP!

Why should Australian news companies receive special privileges by Google and Facebook? These news bureaus already receive traction and advertisement by existing on Google and Facebook. Why force the hosts to pay for content that they don't really need?
19
This is literally a corresponding version of the replacement theory that some people use in order to advocate for the preservation of certain races and demographics. But it's fine because this group is near extinction, right?
19
Yep, kinda insensitive considering that China's negligence and state censorship resulted in the rapid spread. That they're out partying now and making fun of the bleeding world as if it's one big harmless joke. Tacky. But it's difficult to deny that China managed the pandemic well once the leadership took it seriously.
18
I think that's the argument that Putin may be making. "The palace was created by its tax exempt status, state funds and funds from my billionaire and does technically not belong to me." Although I haven't done much research into this building project and who the palace belongs to, so I'm not certain. But Putin isn't precisely a flawless or an honest guy.
17
The civilized world are laughing at us for punishing our own guardians and protectors.
16
@zlonewolf Biden banned deportations. Changed the direction in the immigration department. Signalled that he'd open up the border, let more people in, and provide asylum/citizenship to millions. That resulted in this crisis. Do some research.
15
One of the few policies that Xi Jinping has gotten right is the security law imposed in Hong Kong to uphold order, remove vandals and punish those that can't behave in a legal manner. If you've followed the anti-government movement, you'll be aware that it's irrational, especially the demands, and that the destruction caused by the movement is completely unacceptable by anyone's standards. Something had to be done, and the move is supported by the majority of Hong Kongers.
15
"criticism"?
13
The amount of conspiracies that people have used to defy vaccination is laughable lol. Quite insane when you think about it. Especially when you know what the alternative is, a prolonged pandemic. These vaccines are proven to be safe and harmless. The potential side-effects that could arise outweighs the alternative risk of letting the virus wreak havoc for sure.
13
Yet USA are miles better on many parameters (social issues aside) compared with the rest of world, when it comes to economic power, influence, military strength, standards of living and stability. Think about how low the rest of the world stands with this in mind.
13
So cute and protective 🤗🤗
12
Did that guy take out the camera to film when his brother almost was trapped under the avalanche? Priorities. Swift camera skills though.
11
You know that we're lost as a species when our leaders has to convince the lost, conspiratorial and unhinged crowd to drop their vaccine skepticism and take one for the team by vaccinating. The queen, leaders around the world and public officials has had to boost the vaccine rates because of, presumably, individuals such as yourself sowing distrust and skepticism around this pandemic.
11
I'm so tired of Brexit. No clarity, nobody knows what's happening, negotiations gets nowhere, and you won't know where EU/UK seriously stands on the Brexit issues or what they're planning. Wish it could be over.
11
I don't think a dictatorial autocracy, an absolute communistic dictatorship, like North Korea, cares that much about potential uprisings. The state would mow down every sign of protest, by force, and their family would be sent to concentration camps for the rest of their lives. North Koreans believe that they're living in an utopia by all of the state and educational brainwashing as well. Uprising are unlikely, even though the population is suffering from famine, poverty and suppressive oppression.
11
If UK had a backbone, control of their borders and a homogeneous culture in contrast to the 3rd world, this wouldn't have happened. But the West has a different goal and objective other than protecting their own people.
11
Read the military's reasoning as to why they seized power again. They claimed that the election was unfair, full of irregularities, and that the constitution grants the ability to accordingly seize power. The country was never a full-on democracy anyway.
11
I'm no fan of k-pop, but wow, the genre consists of so many cute girls.
10
It brings in a lot of tourism revenue for these countries and isn't that hurtful to the animal compared with poaching, letting them live without protection in the wild, and compared with what's going on in slaughterhouses. I can see the complaint, but it's not entirely valid.
10
Good luck getting a leader such as Putin and his regime listen to you. Having the people's best interests in mind is a very rare sight when looking at Russia's regime.
10
The failures of history are repeated over and over again even though there's a massive archive of the documented failures, warning signs, school courses discussing the failures, and historians expressing concern. So it doesn't seem like preserving old buildings and camps will do much justice. That's not to say that it shouldn't be preserved though. But its practical usage for humanity is limited.
10
Because the deliberate participation in war is seen as a self-sacrifice for one's country and people. The most crucial task to protect one's collective. That said though, first responders are very much valued and appreciated by society as well. Just take a look at the aftermath of 9/11. Forest fires in Europe a few years back, and so on. They are important and cherished by most people.
10
Social engineering and managing to intrude into someone's email, bank account or credit card info is labelled as a form of hacking. Something that is rapidly increasing in the era of digitalization. But the tricks in the video seems to be fraudulent scams or phishing attempts sent out through a large number of spam emails in order to deceive a susceptible audience. And identity theft.

The report were released like 2 years ago lol CIA already "verified" that "MBS approved the assassination". Unclear how true that is though. Wouldn't be surprising considering that it's Saudi Arabia, but still, CIA's records isn't flawless.
9
Afghan forces trying to imitate and take tips from US special forces. Cool, as long as the Afghan forces remain loyal to what's right.
9
Do you know what that means? Your statement is a bit subtle, so it's unclear if you do. For clarity: In 95% of cases, the subject will receive 100% immunity from the virus. In 5% of cases, nothing will happen.
8
1% rate of HIV in Senegal, 28% of the cases is seen in this little little community. This is seen all over the world. And people still wonder why the little community in question is criticized? Pathetic.
8
This trial wasn't fair whatsoever. Neither were the charges against the officer. So it shouldn't be surprising that he got prosecuted for 3rd/2nd degree murder and manslaughter, even though it obviously wasn't murder and even though he simply did his job. This ruling is disgusting.
8
@saxglend9439 Take your own toxic advice!
8
Because some countries thrives and lives by engaging in provocation and war. The suffering and misery pointlessly created doesn't matter to the countries in question. Who's the biggest culprits? Syria, Russia, Turkey, North Korea, Iran and some smaller or more unknown/non-influential states in Asia/Africa.
8
A military or monarchs controlling part of the government doesn't have to be bad. It becomes a bad thing when they're corruptly enriching themselves at the expense of the people, not prioritizing the people, acting as an indecent disgrace for the country with no manners, and enforces bad policy.
7
Good. It should be banned. No civilized person would abort a child. Allowing institutionalized eradication of fetuses for convenience is evil and despicable. Behave, plan ahead and think about what you're doing if you don't want an unplanned pregnancy to arise. That said, nobody should be forced to carry a child to pregnancy if the child is deformed or if it was created by rape.
