Stevie Wonder? Look at range of stuff Gillan sang in one year. Jesus Christ superstar, concerto for group and orchestra and Early in Rock material. Range? Top A-B. Any others can do that?

  37. The fact is Ian Paice would smoke most of these drummers, very few above him in terms of technique. I like the fact he always puts the Beatles in as musically they were the bar BUT playing, Deep Purple were the bar. I think only 'Smoke' has been mentioned. Back on drums, Burn 1973 Mandrake Root 1969 Fireball 1971 Space trucking 1970 Black night (check out the live recording they did for TOTP).....is there nothing in that there that is better than U2!? He is NOT a technical drummer, neither was moon, Phil Collins or Ringo.
