If there are a lot less cases as you claim due to PCR then the raw case to death ratio is much higher. 128000÷66 million is about 0.18% so even if everyone in the UK has had it the death rate is still no where near 0.03% claimed. It is 6 times higher. 5 million cases gives about 2.5% kill rate and you are saying it's even higher than that.

They tease these details out because they test them in a way that can be verified and repeated by other teams. They write results up in papers and submit them for publication. Those scripts are reviewed by panels and published. Then the relevant part of the science community read digest and critique at conferences. That is how Science moves forward.
