  7. The Ukrainians had a weapon the Russians couldn't counter, the Javelin FGM-148. This weapon is very different from wire guided missiles using a command guidance system. The Javelin is a fire and forget missile that locks onto the armor vehicles thermal image. Plus, this missile is a top attack missile, and the top of any main battle tank has the thinnest amount of armor. Even with rockets from a helicopter can take a main battle tank if you hit the top of it. The Russians should have developed a active protection system to counter these ATGMs. Putting a steel plate on top of a mbt isn't a solution. They should have used their Arena APS and increased the angle for the doppler radar, so they could detect Javelin missiles. You attack a country before you have the means to do it.

  8. The Ukrainian banzai attacks didn't work, like the Japanese banzai attacks didn't work against the US marine corps. The Russians have too much firepower for them to make that work, just like the US marine corps had enough firepower to beat back any Japanese banzai attacks.

  9. The Ukrainians can use their Leopard 2s as defensive weapons. The Leopard 2 series has a very good reserve speed, much better than the T-64, T-72, or T-80 mbts. The main gun on the Leopard 2A4 can penetrate the frontal armor of most Russian tanks with the right APFSDS rounds.
