  1. The problem is, what are we the people, supposed to do? 75% of Americans made it clear that roe should remain as is. But the right wing supreme Court went against a majority of Americans, and voted against us. I'm not sure the statistics on gun owners vs non gun owners, so I can't speak to majority as guns are concerned. But I was commenting once on how no one really needs a military style weapon. And someone answered back, have you ever seen what a regular shotgun can do to a person. And unfortunately, it's true. With proper planning, a person with a pump action shotgun, which most duck hunters carry and own, could do a hell of a lot of damage to people in a mall, church or school. So where do you draw the line on allowable ownership of guns in general? One shooter i remember took many pistols and made an attack on innocent people . I'm still saying people don't need military style weapons for home protection or hunting even. But as for extremists and nutbags,,, it seems any weapon, is one too many.

  2. It's so GD ashamed, that we cannot fire supreme Court justices. Maybe their rulings would suddenly become more realistic and not politically motivated. If they had to be confirmed every few years, they'd have a little more respect for the job. Not just for it's monetary gain. Bastards. How bout, the next time the Dems hold the house and we have a decent majority in the Senate and of course the president. They move to get rid of certain justices. And...we amend the lifetime appointments of judges. I do believe I've heard it's the house that can fire or impeach, supreme Court justices.

  9. I wasn't really political until I met my wife. Even then we didn't do or talk politics other than having very similar views on life. I first registered as a Dem when I first started voting for Obama. I wanted to vote for Obama because I truly wanted him to win. We definitely needed a black president to hopefully show that as a country, we had come together more and more. I watched as Mitch McConnell, fought every aspect of Obamas presidency. Disgusting. Then when the Dems pressed what they called progressive, and pushed for free everything, super open borders without controls or consideration for our own natural resources etc. Then I started calling myself an independent. I would never vote for Republican unless that Republican was a centrist. We have to have democracy. But we must have some common sense government. If you think pure Dem or Repub is perfect, you're fooling yourself. If you just vote Dem or Repub without any thought, you're a sheep, waiting to be led. These people that are calling themselves Republicans are nothing more than extremists. People pushing an agenda of an extreme right view of how one group of people are pushing. I can't go with the so-called,progressive, movement. Any more than when the tea party formed their little yuppy org. This is why Joe Biden is doing as well as he is. Because he is a moderate. He understands we cannot have a way right or way left government. Because our country, and the world,is and always will be a mix of both. These labels we've created are a big part of the problem. We've automatically set up barriers between people. Putting too much stock in those labels.

If trump or those other politicians or people in general, get ahold of those vets, using patriotism as the reason, gains their trust or loyalty. But soldiers are people first, with flaws, certain beliefs, how they were raised. Many factors. This is why, trump has followers of every status in life. Bankers, lawyers, carpenters, nurses etc. And all for different reasons. Look at the national guard . Weekend warriors but in totally different jobs, the rest of the week or month. So I'm not surprised there are military and ex military amongst the attackers on Jan 6 th. I call what the people desire to have open carry, "Gun balls". Because it turns a natural introvert into a dirty harry. And your point about having weapons available anytime, anywhere, and have fender benders or road rage, will turn out in shootouts and murder. But encased in the guise of self defense. Well he had a gun, so I pulled mine, then the guy in the next car thought I was in the wrong so he pulls his and we get into a shootout. And now, some states are trying to make it so you can open carry, without a permit, waiting period, background check, anything! Ridiculous.

My daughter is a teacher. After college she had to get her masters in education. Thats not always the case. Most or many do their 4 years and figure, thats it, hire me making 6 figures. Thats why they come out after 4 more years of supposed higher education, and end up managing a store of some kind. Not making that 6 figures. So how do I now pay back loans. My son, spent 4 years in a college of the arts. He did great in music, but made c,s and d,s in English, math etc. But had loans. He ended up joining the Army for 4 years. They paid them. So lets face it. College doesn't make u suddenly intelligent. Id say many of our political representatives have shown us that. So why are we paying their loans off? God only knows.
