  2. Donuts are a food that there is a huge difference between cheap and expensive. As I got older and ate fewer donuts or pastries as I watch my calorie intake, I started to buy mostly only “premium” donuts and pastries. The $1 donut at Dunkin’ or Krispy Crème or other cheap stores just taste low quality but that $3-$4 donut is often so much better. It’s with that extra $2-$3 for something I only eat on occasion.

  3. Adam, you seem like a very good person. More people like you taking some time to speak to students and provide some insights would certainly help more students really understand what's ahead of them after they graduate which will allow them to better prepare!

  9.  @bluebaconjake405  Ethan uses what other chefs say and do but then he tests different things and outcomes sort of like how Adam does. Adam looks at everything much more scientific including testing of various samples. Adam is a nerd which is why I like him but Ethan is fun guy who mixes in some academic work in videos which is why I like him.

  10. I love this question! I like my food hot or cold but not lukewarm or cool or room temp. Generally speaking of course. But I also don’t love it when it’s too hot or too cold.

  11. ClimateTown is a joke. He gets 90% of way there but then makes extremist assumptions. His videos are too preachy. If he scaled back some of his comments, I would really like it. But like most sources that have a clear bias (and bias isn’t always bad), it just goes to an extreme either for ideological reasons or for viewership. I’m progressive and there is nothing I consume that is strongly progressive because all of them tend to go far left with no or little care of opposing sides…it becomes an echo chamber. I like NPR because even though it picks stories that cater to the left more than the right, it covers each story very balanced.

  18. This actually looks like a dish I will make!! Great combo of relatively easy instructions, ingredients I have, and tasty! I probably only try like 1 in 20 things I see in this channel though probably half the videos i watch are simply to learn cooking techniques and shortcuts even if the dish itself isn't something I would do.

  25. I agree. Putting an egg on sandwich or burger is something that is for lunch not breakfast nor dinner. Sure, I'll eat it for dinner as well but it has more of a lunch / brunch vibe. But for the most part, adding eggs does make it more of a breakfast dish.

  34. KFC in the US use to be quality in the 80's but I think starting in the 90's, they felt pressure to compete in pricing and started lowering their quality. Then later some regional chains serving higher quality chicken start dominating the US market. Chick-Fil-A and Raising Canes took a big chunk and then Popeyes was more of a direct competitor on pricing and served better chicken. Today, nobody talks about KFC in the US. But I 95% refuse to go to Chic-Fil-A. I will go on the rare occasion but I mostly avoid due to their ties to anti gay groups. I have so many options for food, why give my money to a business that defends hate? And yes, I understand there are franchise operators but the same is for other businesses and their HQ isn't actively defending hate.

  35. I recently started making “Mexican pasta”. For the pasta sauce I use Mexican salsas that’s tomato OR tomatillo base though usually with both. Basically pasta, chicken, and salsa. So delicious

  40.  @Scerttle late 70’s and early 80’s are very different from Gen x and Millennials. Some call them Xillennials. I’m 45 and everything Adam says feels like it relates to me. People connected to 80’s and 90’s music will lean more Gen X though. Millennials were more connected to late 90’s, 00’s and 10’s are much more millennial

  41. Adam, about your age and had a similar experience. I was perfectly fine with milk and would drink maybe a cup every other day usually with a nighttime peanut butter sandwich or cereal. Then about two years ago I seemed to be going to the bathroom maybe 4-5 times a day. Not quite a solid bowel movement. Didn’t think anything about it because my stomach didn’t hurt and the symptoms came about slowly. But 9 months talked to my doctor and he said I became lactose intolerant. But sometime over the last 6 months started drinking milk again and my symptoms are considerably less than they were before. You mentioned that some people seem to handle whole milk better. I’m not sure when I switched to it but I began drinking whole milk instead of 2% in the past year. Maybe that was a factor? Or maybe it’s just an intermittent problem because I may have dealt with the same problems a few years ago as well. Either way, it’s tolerable for me with the only problem is the inconvenience of having to go to the bathroom maybe 2-3 times more in a day on SOME days. Probably like the Tibetans. I’m also Mexican (-American) with maybe 20% indigenous and the rest I assume Spanish. Spain has a lot of Germanic people history which is probably why most of my family is okay with milk because we are likely 80% Spanish ancestry.

Hey Adam, I really like the idea of you traveling on occasion and doing food episodes of the city or region you’re in and then when you get back home you do some episodes on the food / dishes you saw. You probably won’t see this comment but I think that could have such potentials. Do a family trip to Paris, shoot a few episodes worth of food and cuisine there. Come back a week or two later and then start working on multiple ways to make crepe or soufflé or etc.

  45. I’m also hooked on the Korean Chile paste!! It’s my go to. It’s convenient, versatile and tasty! My kitchen is a mix of Asian and Mexican— Korea chili paste, soy sauce, sichuan peppercorn, ramen, jalapeños, Mexican dried chilis, chipotle, tortillas, , etc!

  47. So do the people of England still call the 'English Muffins" just muffins or do they need to specify it at times with the rise of US style muffins? And yeah, I never thought about it but US style muffins are indeed cupcakes without icing. In the US, saying muffins by itself with no other context means US style. All other types need to be specified such as "English Muffins". >A crumpet is a totally different style of bread. If you haven't tried one, you're missing out! We have them in the US. Not as popular as English Muffins though but you can find them in some stores. They are often confused with english muffins.

  48. 22:17 you mention Western New York and western Pennsylvania or the Midwest. As someone who has traveled for work too much of that area and lives in the Midwest I can say I agree with you 100%. Buffalo and Pittsburgh have much more in common with the Midwest than they do the East Coast.

  49. I wouldn’t say ever right winger talking about it — there are many sheep out there and they just believe what their sides says without thinking too much about it. But I do think Adam cut them (right wing that are anti science) too much slack, the majority are most certainly being dishonest in order to support “their culture”. The right left split is becoming less about specific ideologies and more about culture. The right is far more guilty but when one side does it, you see the other side increase cultural wars in similar ways. Adam does make a good point about this saying he himself has hunkered down in certain positions that shouldn’t be set in stone…and I’m guilty of that on vaccines as well. The science is already strong that the Cov vaccine does greatly reduce death but having to fight off all the anti science crowd, I may be putting myself in a position where if serious long term side effects do emerge, I will have trouble accepting them for a while.

  50.  @jacewhite8540  More balanced sources rarely go in depth on one specific topic. Those that go in depth one specific topic generally are going to have a strong bias. I've realized that which is why I still consume biased sources but I am a little cautious with the information from it. With Climate Town, I caught a few times where they exaggerated something, ignored context, or just ignored some other relevant information. I continued to watch because he was still going in depth more than most sources. And a lot of the business focused news and information sources are going to right of center bias. I keep that in mind -- because unless they are ideologically right, they often make points that are relevant to even someone on the left.
