They literally do not need any more homes build…they are spending hundreds of billions to try to prevent a housing collapse. They made to many homes and people were effectively forced to buy multiple homes as investments leading to sky rocketing prices then the one child policy lead to declining population and fewer homes needed. So to prevent the collapse of housing market, Chinas government is spending hundreds of billions to keep the market afloat
