  1. I mostly agree with this assessment but it seems to suggest that China isn’t being a bad guy. All these concerns stem from two major issues: 1. China wants to Invade Taiwan and 2. China wants to steal the South China Sea (and parts of East Sea). If China didn’t do those things, there would be little friction.

  4. 9:15 lose a lot of credibility when you suggest that the US was behind bombing of nord stream pipeline. That would be the the worst thing for the US to do because if evidence was found, it would cause irreparable and major damage in the relationship. So why give that suggestion?? The video also lots of conspiracy like arguments. One the worst I’ve seen of this channel.

  5.  @ArawnOfAnnwn  one of the reasons China wins many of these projects besides having many construction companies is that the west often put to many restrictions on their loans — they require some min wage for workers, environmental protections, workers safety rights, etc. China doesn’t care about any of that so they are able to offer rock bottom prices. In addition, it’s very likely China has a massive international bribing operation as well. Their operation was caught in Guayana by Vice News.

  7. This video is a bit problematic IMO. First, the US isn’t the only supplier of weapons and aid to Ukraine. Europe has provided just as much as the US yet no mention of European aid. Second, for months already Ukraine has been shooting down drones with the German-made Gepard system, a vehicle that can send dual streams of 35mm rounds ripping into the sky to hit the drones. They are not using $100,000 missiles. Third, the video doesn’t seem to describe the consequences of all the actions mentioned that Russia is undertaking. The video suggest that Russia could put up with even 10:1 (10 Russian losses to 1 Ukrainian loss) ratio of losses for a long time. Each round of mobilization will make the war less popular In Russia. You cannot use WW2 as an example of how much Russia is willing to lose in terms of people’s lives because WW2 they were fighting to preserve the existence of the country – so Ukraine today would be a better comparison to Russia in WW2. In addition, the video mentions that mobilization of the poor, minorities, and disenfranchised communities wouldn’t pose big problems for the Kremlin. But it will, certainly for the minority regions where approval for Moscow is lower than the rest of the country. This could lead to potential revolts.

  12.  @redthrow9827  Yes, unfortunately it's a trend that keeps getting worse. This channel was not that bad 2 years ago but now it presents everything in much more alarmist way. Same with Real Life Lore but RLL is much worse. They were probably at the same level of alarmist 2 years ago that Caspian Report is today but RLL has gone in over drive. I've recently been following Prof James Ker-Lindsay on Youtube. He "takes an informed look at international relations, conflict, security, and statehood." He also is " a research associate at the London School of Economics and visiting professor at the University of Kent. He holds a PhD in International Conflict Analysis and has published over a dozen books on ethnic conflicts and territorial disputes." So because he's an expert on this and a professor, his videos are done with far less alarmist tone or rhetoric. He usually starts by giving a quick history related to the parties involved, then discusses the history of the current issue by presenting all sides and what we should worry about and not worry about. He only provides his opinion at the very end so it's fairly low on bias until his opinion. He also engages with people in the comment section all the time, usually over a dozen comments. I feel there needs to be more of these type of programs like the Prof.

Video of the balloon showed small motors and multiple propellers that allowed China to actively maneuver the balloon over specific locations. The balloons are part of what the official called a fleet of balloons developed to conduct surveillance, and flights are often undertaken at the direction of the Chinese military.

They will need to build up a military and be ready to do that -- after Russia put 200k troops around Ukraine and governments thought they wouldn't, China doing something that large would already send everyone into defense position. So before China can siege & blockade Taiwan, the US & Japan and other allies will move navy ships in/near Taiwan. Will China attack the US and Japan first? Will they go to all out war? And while China is mobilizing those troops, sanctions and other penalties will be undertaken as well as defense preparation. Plus, what you described would make them such an international pariah that they would be considered worse than Russia.

Military did ask/force Morales to step down but the interim government made it clear from the start that new elections would be had. On the Solomon Islands, should have mentioned the Increasing authoritarianism of the leader which is why there massive protests about Chinas involvement in the island. On Australia China trade, you mention Australia mostly sells China natural resources but didn’t mention why Australia doesn’t fear china boycott or sanction of Australian natural resources. China already sanctioned Australian coal and other natural resources but considering they are just global commodities, Australia just found other buyers.

And once they go down a certain path, they are less likely to change paths because there isn't as much pressure on them to change as in a democracy and because the interest of autocratic leaders are mostly about keeping their autocratic power and not what the people think.

This is probably the most important thing for EU/West and a chance to neuter Russia for decades. If Russia is allowed to keep so much Ukrainian land, it will set precedent for future Russian attacks on other countries.
