The most interesting bot or whatever found me here. Seemed like a real Russian person based in the US. Important to look out for saboteurs these days.

@canadiangirl826 well, I think that is common in Europe too so people don't take the carts around town. Not common in the US, so that's maybe why shopping carts end up along the highway
14
I am so impressed by Ukraine's drone technology. Million drone army!
11
My family moved from Finland partly to the US to get away from Russia's shadow. How awful to see our new home become like RUSSIA!!
10
I am a Finnish American, and my mom visited Ukraine several times, and I've known people from Ukraine since elementary school. Feb 22-24, 2022 were very dark days I will always remember, but then the Ukrainian army miraculously held up and seemed to immediately adopt the same guerilla tactics that Finns used to turn the terrain of Finland against the Soviets in 1939. There indeed is hope, both physically and spiritually.

@singamajigy Agreed. Finnish American here. Parents left Finland to get away from Russia's shadow. What a disgrace this is. Have to vote BLUE from now on. I am ex-GOP too. NEVER AGAIN after this shiiiit.

Hyvรค! Alas Putin

@0nFoot agreed! ๐

โโ @9Pivo I like to tell Z bots that they would love living in the US. I can't imagine anything else that would actually make their circuits overheat
6
I really appreciate your positive portrayal of capitalism as allied with creativity and joy and having the freedom to be all that you can be to make the world a better place. It's rare but golden message!
6
โ @TheFrewah a relative of mine sold red Case equipment for about 40 years. He knocked green tractors whenever we happened to see them, lol!
5
โ @jimjiminy5836 anyone who can't hear criticism has a personality flaw.

@_Epsilon_ What are the top 3 things NATO did to provoke Russia? Also, is there any chance Russia will return territory to the Swedish Vikings, or would force be required?
5
I used an American sickle just last week. It looks about a hundred years old. Got it from someone in Pennsylvania.

I think Zelenskyy might be calling Trump's bluff. Trump said aid would continue if Zelenskyy goes to the negotiating table. Zelenskyy can go to the table from a position of strength by saying, "Hey, Putin, you clearly can't keep this up--let's at least talk." Then Zelenskyy doesn't have to agree to anything but he can tell the US, look, we gave Russia a chance and they rejected Ukraine's terms. It is good to do this BEFORE the election, and then Trump looks like an idiot.

โ @rochcarothers-ts3jx love it! ๐๐๐

YouTube is definitely suppressing this channel. I have to look up updates even though I'm subscribed. Shows you must be doing something right!

I recommend making a Russian translation of this video and linking it to places Russians will watch it
4
Reminds me of the Matrix too. In a way, we all have some level of propagandizement, but definitely a lot of us really do penetrate and perceive more than what others see
4
I was watching that too. I can't stand Trump, but I try to be politically objective in my investment decisions. But this week I wish I had been just a little more like Buffet!
4
In other words, we could easily see a retracement in the ruble/USD to 0.95 before continuing the downward trend. All part of the journey.
3
@bbdj2779 definitely. Can't stop the support ever. Ukraine is basically the poorest country in Europe, and we are commanded to share extra resources with those who are less fortunate.
3
I hope some Russians are watching this!
2
@lewisdoherty7621 yeah, I can definitely imagine that. Russian music is amazing. Hoping for a more peaceful world where we all can share this great art.
2
Well said, my friend! Enjoyed hearing your take
2
Germany, Finland, Poland, Sweden, etc---the local countries ought to be sending troops to Ukraine already. Who will take the first step?
2
Thanks for the encouraging words in an otherwise depressing time. Freedom cannot be defeated. It is the desire of every human soul.

Serious question: wouldn't it be more fair for a society to try to keep interest rates low and to tax the rich progressively? We keep being told to keep taxes low on the rich so they boost the economy with their spending. But what if we tax them more, and then let everyone have more access to credit?? Wouldn't the net result be similar? The rich could just borrow more if they want to invest in their businesses more, and it would be easier for the poor/middle class to go into debt to pay for cars, houses, education, and small-business loans.
2
Happy Thanksgiving, Prof! How about looking at Fibonacci levels and Elliot wave analysis to analyze any bounces? ...as today we see a bounce.
2
In a way, America has never been stronger or richer. Sure there are problems. But don't believe the cynics.

The die has been thrown

Two girls, one Trump. Seriously! Pee tape Donny's behavior PROVES the Moscow pee tape is real!
2
Would you say that simultaneously every employer is underpaying their employees and every employee is overpaid? Thus a benefit for both?
2
@knopkaplay0507 Putin is pretty apathetic to the fate of that region. Russians have been fleeing that region and will tell people in central Russia that this war is real and very serious, and it is time to end the war. But you already know that I am sure.
2
I guess Pubin is ultimately some kind of socialist or communist, and why again does MAGA think he is such a genius??? MASGA: Make Adam Smith Great Again!
2
Thanks for the analysis. The single most important idea underlying all history is that we are indeed accountable to an omniscient and omnipotent Being. If any piece of physical matter can be integrated atomically into the human body/brain, and thus into our human consciousness, think of how an infinite consciousness is boundlessly aware of the fine details of this universe.

I'm reading Clan of the Cave Bear--incidentally it takes place in prehistoric Crimea!

I remember there was a creepy crow in Orwell's Animal Farm

Admire your decision to get out of the stock market. I took half my chips off the table recently, because I am young and am thinking about opportunity cost (i.e., it is more risky for a young person NOT to be invested in some equities long term.) Three weeks I thought about selling everything but felt my motive would have been fear and panic. I don't like to make emotional decisions. But TODAY, I wish I did act in panic three weeks ago!
2
I still think some Russians achieved a kind of inner freedom of the soul over the centuries. Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Alexei Navalny, and even Volodymir Zelensky, a Russian-Jewish man born in the Soviet Union. Navalny is now dead, but Zelensky is now the leader of the Free Peoples of Middle Earth.
2
@diegoyanesholtz212 looking like a dead cat bounce on the intraday
2
If Trump wins, Ukraine still has the rest of NATO, South Korea, Australia, and many others on their side. Ukraine just has to survive the next couple years and Russia will fall of its own "wait"
2
โ @dr.williams5251 Ukraine should get free oil, gas, raw materials, etc. from Russia for the next 50 years.

The dwarves delved too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness of Khazad-dum... shadow and flame.

@EconLessons Amen to that brother! (I was born in W. Palm)

Happy Earth Day! Mark, can you make a video on why capitalism is actually good for the environment? That'll blow a lot of people's minds and I am sure you would have a lot to say on that.

Prof. Biernat, serious question here. It seems to me that the GOP is spreading a misconception that there is only one way to do capitalism--cut regulations. I love capitalism, but I also really admire the mixed Nordic model, which fundamentally succeeds due to the free exchange of labor and capital among the Nordic nations and others. I think the GOP overemphasizes the benefits of cutting regulations and taxes. I would argue we can still be capitalist in the US while also maintaining taxes and most current business regulations. Smart regulations are what we need, not less regulations. There are many business practices, which if allowed to play out naturally by the invisible hand, would stifle innovation and stifle competition among businesses for recruiting labor on the job market. Things like monopolization and cutting wages, and ultimately instituting the equivalent of slave labor--this all seems logically inevitable in a completely unregulated capitalist system. In other words, in a COMPLETELY unregulated economic system, I would argue the rich are destined to get richer and the poor are destined to get poorer. Any thoughts?

My grandfather was born in the Porkkala region and lost his childhood home in Finland. But in the 50s the Soviets suddenly gave it back earlier than expected, maybe because the Soviet government was so poor it couldn't maintain the Porkkala base. I am more afraid for the Baltic region too than ever before with the Russian hybrid activities. Many more people will die before this ends.
