And when you think about it, those "government subsidy" talking points couldn't get any more hypocritical because back in the Cold War era, the US-Western Bloc was the *primary* advocate of the development theory, which is a chief Cold War strategy at containing the Soviet Union and the growing legitimacy of communism worldwide by promoting market-oriented Dirigism alternative to Soviet-style, centrally planned economic autarky.
It was a key policy that incentivized the US to pursue regime change operation, in a bid to elect Western-friendly military dictatorships across foreign countries in the Global South, which were largely underdeveloped at the time. But flash forward today, the US began acting like it's inherently a bad thing when it's done under pretext of national-level or regional sovereignty and self-determination, since the last decade.
The reason is largely because China today has been a contemporary milestone of development theory success itself in the 21st Century and that, the West become scared of their own theoretical conception taking a way more concrete form in their purported geopolitical adversary, ironically 👀

@NYCDurrani I have feeling we might be seeing an aftermath similar to Kagame and RPF coming into power after the genocide and ruled Rwanda ever since 2000. I don't trust Taliban, not yet and I think it's wise to remain sceptical of their presence and motives for now, but I'm a bit more optimistic to say the least, that we can put our good hopes to all member countries of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) mainly China, Russia, Pakistan, and soon-to-be member Iran who's been in talks closely with Taliban in the recent years, to build and consolidate a friendly relation and mutual cooperation while slowly transformed them to become moderate government entity and party by all means possible.
Of course we know for a fact that Taliban are considering to sign the proposal from both China and Russia to become full SCO membership, if that succeed then we'd expect Taliban to ditch off their prior agreement with US, effectively getting rid of their opium and arms deal altogether, and possibly cutting ties from US at large.

@bungkusi2432 Yes, and? Idk what exactly you're trying to prove me, I guess you're not denying at all that Pfizer vaccine works, were you? Because it is, it won't prevent you from getting infected but at least it brings solid protection from serious illness (unless you're old) while slowing down chance of virus to widespread. That's what the official data from Singaporean MOH is trying to say.
Of course you absolutely need good and adequate healthcare, vaccine ain't some kind of God's blessing or something. Sure thing Singapore has the better healthcare system but the fact that we got to eliminate and curb down the covid spread shows our healthcare isn't that bad. The issue was that we're underestimating the contagiousness of the Delta variant in the first place, people can carry the Delta while not showing sign of illness and normal quarantine won't neutralize the virus, it'd still remain inside in some way that can't be detected by test. That's why it became widespread eventually. Singapore were already prepared to this and decided to vaccinate much of its population in addition to preparing the healthcare service.
Sinovac is more effective at neutralizing the virus than Pfizer because it's faster at inducing immune response and it can works in tandem with covid treatment medicine, therefore it works best for covid patient under quarantine. Meanwhile, Pfizer requires much more time for our body to induce immune response because it works differently and thus, requires ideal health condition. Also certain people might be sensitive against mRNA vaccine and typically it can't work effectively with elderly people which requires booster dose. But once it works it can bring solid, lasting protection from illness and it shows clearly in Singapore.

@bungkusi2432 I fully support the decision to get Sinovac, but hey at least getting Pfizer jab is still better than nothing. Look at the data right now, Singapore only has 29,732 total active cases (people currently still infected) as of Yesterday while total deaths are only 300. Also 98% of those infected (and previously infected) are asymptomatic or having mild symptom despite more than 50% of those are fully vaccinated, while most deaths are above 60 and mostly unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.
It was much worse here in Indonesia when the Delta variant came. Most people were unvaccinated at the time and by June, new cases began to surge rapidly by 251,000+ while deaths increased by 5,211, all these in only 15 days since June 15th (active cases were 116,787) and this isn't even the highest yet. Severety of illness were also more varied, most people are either having mild or moderate symptoms but certainly more people suffered from acute illness than in Singapore right now. We only finally began to curb down the case numbers when the vaccination program begin to accelerate (we used Sinovac primarily).
