Barnaby wasn't even "mocking" the France president. He was simply stating a reasonable fact.

The only reason Lidia Thorpe doesn't want the yes vote to get up is because it would completely dominate the aboriginal grievance industry and in the process made her redundant and powerless. She is not fighting for aboriginal people, she is fighting to maintain her relevance.
34
Sorry Catherine, the "beginning of the end" of Scott Morrison's tenure as Prime Minister started LONG ago. Actually back at the time of the Australian 2019-20 bushfires, when he foolish stated that climate change was responsible for the bush-fires, to try and appease the woke lefties. It's just been downhill ever since.
34
I'm struggling to understand the problem. A scumbag that the police seeming wouldn't or couldn't touch met his justice, and no one else was harmed. Seems like the world is a better place now, a win/win.
33
The ONLY reason they lifted the mandatory requirement to wear masks when going shopping was because it was abundantly clear that a significant percentage of people were refusing to comply, about 30% in my observation going to Coles etc. So rather than have a complete loss of 'face' (no pun intended) with the citizens refusing to comply, they simply changed the rule. So let that be a lesson to you Gladys, people have had enough of this nonsense.
33
Anyone who missed the Paul Murray show last night with Rita Panahi standing in for Paul missed a piece of TV magic. She did a piece with Mark Latham as a panel discussion member on 'poor gladys'. Rita had obviously pissed Mark off with her fawning over 'poor innocent Gladys' in her introduction before Mark was asked about his thoughts. He let her have it with all the subtleness of a Sherman tank at full throttle. After about 10 minutes of Mark Latham at his best he had her looking like a dumb 15 year old rock band groupie, which was EXACTLY how she was behaving.
33
The quicker NSW has a major extended blackout the better. The sooner the population gets a rude awakening to the reality of what is happening, the quicker we can change direction and try and pull the state back from the brink.
33
So let me get this right. Someone who drinks, smokes, and gambles all their weekly wage away and ends up at the end of their life with nothing, gets essentially free aged care. The person who is frugal, saves, provides for himself, earning no more than our irresponsible drunk, has to sell his house and pay for his own aged care. And you think that's "reasonable"?
32
If the 'yes' campaign (or even any of its vocal supporters such as Chris Kenny) have yet to figure out how 'the voice' will actually help disadvantaged indigenous communities in remote locations (the only real problem area) then they aren't going to figure it out in the next 2 weeks. The reason the yes campaign haven't been able to successfully communicate any benefits, because there are none. Another level of centralised self-appointed bureaucracy will only make it HARDER for local communities to achieve anything.
32
Andrew's created a mess in the first place, undertook an Armageddon approach to regain control of the mess (which was likely totally unnecessary), ruined thousands of lives ..... and Bruce Hawkins thinks he should be praised for that effort. What planet are you living on Bruce, or do you always play the dumb Labor can do no wrong stooge.

The planned 'outburst' by Higgins on the steps of the courthouse after the first trial was dismissed was always intended to kill the prospects of a second trial. She had prepared that speech believing a hung jury was going to happen. When the unexpected dismissal of the trial happen (perhaps it was a deliberate action on the part of a juror) in consultation with her legal team, they decided to deliver the 'outburst' for the same reason. To kill the chances of second trial ever happening. There was NEVER any chance on an unanimous guilty verdict in a first, second, or even third trial. Likely 90% of another hung jury, and maybe a 10% chance of a not guilty.
31
The Doherty Report was ALWAYS a piece of garbage. There was never any real science in it. It was nothing more than a bit of political theater written backward to support already decided outcomes. Any political leader who references it as some sort of science is just yanking your chain.
31
I had to look up who was the Energy Security Board Chair that they were slamming .... Exactly as you'd expect. Someone with an Arts Degree, then an academic, then CEO of Sydney Water (at the time of the Obede and Sinodinos scandals), then a Merchant Banker, and now CEO of the Energy Security Board. I don't even know the issue the panelists are discussing, but with someone like that in charge of my electrify supply and bill ..... I'm worried.

@stokersruleok5863 Anyone who read the government submission would have been pretty certain Novak was going to win. It was the most illegible cobbled together piece of nonsense. But what was clear in the document was the government lawyers trying to bully and threaten the court. Any self-respecting Judge would have taken grave offence to its 'tone' and ruled against them just on that basis alone.
30
Gary, have you realized just how stupid your speel of infringement notices being handed out for people not wearing face masks at the supermarket sounds, just after the chief health office has told us the problem is within household, and those households visiting relatives.
30
External threats to Australia are totally insignificant compared to our current strategy of destroying just about every facet of society and industry. And the country HAS been at war for decades now, without even realising the nature of modern warfare is totally different, and we have LOST to China! What don't they own and/or control in the county.
30
This is why Barnaby is a great politician. It's not necessary to agree with everything he says (thought I do mostly), but because he'd down to earth and communicates naturally to normal people in a way they understand.
30
That anyone could even think stopping people walking their dog late in the evening, when there is rarely a sole around, is a "circuit breaker" is just so mind numbingly stupid it defies belief.
30
Labor's 'Big Australia' policy by stealth (LNP weren't much better) is the greatest threat to the living standards (both economically and environmentally) of the majority of Australians. The very working class people who Labor pretend they represent. Labor long ago became the enemy of 'working class' people and are now the party of corporate elites, union bosses, and inner city 'intellectuals' (term used lightly).
30
Thought Peter Dutton did an excellent job. Good speech, well delivered.
29
The reporting of this event by SkyNews was absolutely APPALLING! Watched it this morning for an hour or so. When the peaceful crowd was shouting "fake news" at the Sky journalist and camera they were spot on. I don't think I every heard such propaganda and dribble from even the ABC.
29
It was an EXCELLENT speech. Puts Australia's politicians to shame (all parties).
29
Myles is certain to do well in life.
29
@adenheiland Get over it, you lost. The performance and behaviours of Kenny, Albanese, and the leaders of the yes campaign has been dreadful over the past 18 or so months. THEY are the primary reasons you lost (besides if was always a DREADFUL idea, a proposal to destroy Australian democracy, which the VAST majority of Australians were able to see) Go find a corner to cry in.
29
So now all future covid cases are the result of the protests. Can SkyNews sink any lower in its gutter 'journalism'.
29
It's not smart for ANYONE to walk in certain place alone late at night. It's really a disservice to tell young women they have a "right" to be able to walk anywhere, anytime. I also should have a "right" to leave the doors to my house unlocked and windows open whenever I go out. Neither are very smart things to do, never have been, and never will be.
29
There is a good reason why the emphasis of 'climate change' has now shifted to a nearly 100% focus on "extreme weather events". Predictions of polar bears going extinct, cities become uninhabitable due to rising seas, dams never filling again, etc, etc have clearly not materialised. But if the focus is on "extreme weather events" these things are sure to manifest themselves, as regular as clockwork, just like they have for thousands of years.
29
Is it REALLY "68 people are in intensive care with the virus" or "68 people are in intensive care for a variety of reason that have tested positive to a PCR test"? BIG difference.
28
And if the loss of direct support goes to the Greens, Independents, or Teal party .... with preferential voting their vote flow straight back to Labor. If people want change, or just to boot Andrews out they have to be prepared to vote LNP or a conservative independent even if they feel that comes at some pain being the LNP haven't got their act together.
28
The best thing you can do to protect your health is eat well and exercise to maintain a health weight, unlike the obese guy offering 'health advice'. Obesity was one of the key risk facts related to covid, and no doubt would be the same for influenza. That someone could recommend pregnant women taken an unnecessary drug, and especially one not proven safe, is obscene.
28
It HASN'T been tough for 'everybody' during this pandemic. In fact some people have made heaps of money, hardly been inconvenienced, and actually have a more cruisy existence than normal. Down at Cronulla beach this morning, literally hundreds of working age couples sitting in coffee shops eating expensive late 'breakfasts'. That many people on holidays, don't thing so. People on the dole can't afford expensive breakfasts. Then the 'light in the head went on ..... public servants and others 'working from home'. The impact of the so called pandemic has disproportionally been born by just a segment of society (elderly, mentally ill, lonely, low paid, etc). Most certainly not the elites like The Chook.
28
Good on you Mick, overseeing perhaps the biggest loss of public trust in the NSW police force in history, one that will be permanent. Job well done.
28
I just looked up the rules for the old parliamentary super scheme (which clearly applies in Albanese's case), and for his time in office and position held, my calculation (75% of salary 555,000) works out to $412,500 a year. Fact Check: The Australian newspaper is likely correct that upon defeat at the next federal election Albanese will receive an annual fully TAXPAYER funded pension of over $400,000 per year for life.
28
Ian Macfarlane, head of the Queensland Resources Council, was being interviewed the other day and stated coal price caps will make ZERO difference to electricity prices. The reason being most coal fired generators, being located virtually at the mine site, are not paying anything like the current spot (market) price for their coal. As such what they pay is already well under the level of any proposed cap, so it will have zero effect.
28
Don't worry about the personality that is Trump. Just ask yourself do his policies align with your values. That's the only thing that affects you, you never have to speak or hang out with him.
27
To make a statement "those who are unvaccinted are especially vulnerable" is just another lie. A person over 80 years old and in less than ideal health may be more vulnerable than their vaccinated counterpart. But to imply an unvaccinated perfectly healthy active 12-40 year old is "especially vulnerable" is just a straight out lie.
27
Anyone, like Albanese, who thinks jobs lost in 'traditional' industries can simply be taken up when Australia becomes a "global renewable superpower" (joke) has zero idea about productivity. Even if true (it isn't) that would just be numbers on a bureaucrats report. Two hundred new renewable's jobs somewhere in the country will do nothing to help the two hundred thousand unemployed coal mines and heavy machinery operators living in coal communities.
27
Even more stupid than a mother posting a picture of her sons lunchbox on social media .... is mainstream media devoting time to actually discussing the photo.
27
I think that flag should STAY. Accurately represents the country at present, in tatters, and only going to get worse.
27
These officially calculated numbers are a complete joke. The things that the majority of people spend most of their income on, rent, food, insurance, utilities, health related costs, continue to skyrocket at rates closer to 10%. To call these seasonal factors and no include them in official calculations is antiquated thinking, making the official numbers a total pile of dog manure.
27
There already is "additional taxation" on 'tradie utes'. Luxury vehicles tax, heavy vehicle registration tax, and diesel surcharge tax. P.S. The largest market for full size SUV's is not 'tradies'. It is the recreational sector e.g. grey nomads, off roaders, beach fishermen, etc.
27
Why would anyone be even slightly surprised that Plibersek would make sure a derogatory comment. She has always been a nasty piece of work, and with her party now in office has simply dropped the pretence of being something else.
27
No matter how these clowns try and spin it, the Albanese labour government has been, by far, the worst government in my lifetime. And that dates back to Robert Menzies.
27
Specs for the $90k electric SUV mentioned in the video, the LDV eT60. "130Kw of power, 310Nm of torque, maximum range of up to 330km, 1 Tonne towing capacity" 310Nm of torque is half thatof the current v6 diesel Ford Ranger (600Nm) costing around $17K less. A "maximum range" of 330 kilometers. So in practice you'd be wanting to recharge it around every 250 kilometers. That would take 13 hours to recharge on a single phase circuit, 9 hours on a 3 phase circuit. Range would be considerably less when towing its maximum of 1 Tonne (Everest can tow 3.5 Tonne). The average modern loaded caravan is around 2.5 Tonnes in weight. What a totally useless piece of expensive rubbish.
27
Well I'm prepared to be critical of ever bringing in the extreme lock-downs in the first place. The enormous social consequences of doing so would have been apparent to anyone with half a brain. To do so 'just in case' prior to clear and indisputable evidence that things were getting serious out of hand borders on criminal negligence. I will NEVER forgive the arse-holes who did this completely unnecessary damage to Australia and a significant percentage of their fellow Australians. We were NEVER 'all in this together', and the worst is yet to come and will last for years.
26
While its been said by several already, Covid-19 did not cripple the economy, destroy the savings of a nation, create millions of long-term unemployed and its associated massive social costs. That was done by bureaucrats and politicians who actually seem to be enjoying the task, and finding any excuse they can not to stop.
26
Yes, the Commonwealth DID have "substantial" responsibility for what happened during covid. The main one being a decision to not confront the states for primarily political purposes. The response to covid is inseparably between the federal and state governments. To suggest otherwise is just insulting the intelligence of Australian electors, which this current Labor government seems to be experts at.
26
Words of wisdom from one of the most knowledgeable people in the field of climate .... "How the climate of the 21st century will play out is a topic of deep uncertainty. Once natural climate variability is accounted for, it may turn out to be relatively benign. Or we may be faced with unanticipated surprises. We need to increase our resiliency to whatever the future climate presents us with. We are shooting ourselves in the foot if we sacrifice economic prosperity and overall societal resilience on the altar of urgently transitioning to 20th century renewable energy technologies." Professor Judith Curry, July 2021.
26
What has this woman actually done in 'public service' to warrant even consideration of the position? Answer as far as I can see .... NOTHING! If people think championing a third rate women's AFL competition, paid for by the men's game, is 'public service' then we clearly have different values.
26
For once the Morrison government got something correct. The LAST person to get advice on anything from would be the woke warrior Grace Tame.
