The original gun in HL1 was a straight-up MP5, which was then changed to an M4 carbine in the HD texture pack. For HL2... I dunno. It could be this? Maybe? Sorta?

No taxation without representation! :D

Can any Taiwanese viewers maybe contact the Fourth Arsenal and see if they have any records or insight on this piece?
1
Insert "Final Fantasy VIII" joke here ^_^
1
Okay, seriously: was this designed for a real, actual purpose, or just for cool factor? The latter is totally a legit reason to make something, but Ian wasn't clear on that point.
1
Seconded. You see it in every video game ever, but I don't know a thing about it.
1
I believe the British Army used this gun right through the Falklands, though I may be mistaken. It's certainly aged very well IMHO.
1
I think "dafuq?!" about covers my reaction.
1
Uzi does it. 😂
1
1:00 - Geez, spoiler warning! :P
1
I spent the whole video having "Metro" flashbacks. :P
1
"Metro Exodus" called; it wants its post-apocalyptic AK back. ;)
1
2:20 - Sorry to be pedantic, Ian, but when you have a sec check the difference between "precedent" and "precedence." <3
1
I want to loan one of these to Paul Harrell to shoot at the Meat Target. Probably won't do all that much damage, but I am very very curious.
1
Next time you're in Boston, MA check out the haberdasher I use. The name of the shop is Salmagundi Boston. Two locations, same selection at both. Wicked cool store. :)
1
There is no such f*cking thing as an "assault weapon." Anyone who says different needs to be edumacated.
1
One word: STEAMPUNK.
1
The idea of suing over this is ludicrous. If anything, firearms companies should be tossing game studios a few bucks to use correct names and models of their products in video games as cheap advertising.
1
@urbanimage I'd buy an RPG for my daughter, if I had one. Not pink, though; too easy to spot.
1
@urbanimage Absolutely. Boy cheats on her, she can blow up his car. :D
1
@urbanimage I'd prefer an AR or AK for that, unless they're all bunched together at pep rally or something ;)
1
@urbanimage Aaaand we've gone from being silly-funny to silly-unfunny.
1
@urbanimage Shoo.
1
If I recall correctly, Eisenhower asked for Marines for Operation Overlord. The Navy's response was something along the lines of "HAHAHAHAHAHA no."
1
The seal kind of looks like the seal of the Kingdom of Jerusalem from the crusades, but it was four small crosses rather than a pair each of crosses and crescents. Is there a sigliographer in the house?
1
This and the Judge are the only Taurus arms I've heard about. Are they representative of the company's products as a whole, or are they just anomalies? Merely curious.
1
The only difference between a boy and a man is the size and cost of the toys. <3
1
I always assumed the MP9 was an H&K product because of its name. Huh.
1
I wouldn't buy a Colt commercial gun, no matter how good, because by all accounts their customer service (to retail customers) is abysmal. It makes sense if you consider that their primary client is the US Military and similar entities, so the focus of their CS efforts go there.
1
I hate to be That Guy, but the marking on the rifle is "BradFIELD," not "BradFORD" <3
1
I'm starting to think the UK naming system for these things was designed on the principle of "security through obscurity."
1
Seconded.
1
Flipping huge, cross on the grip... this is Alucard's old revolver, isn't it?
1
Like, wow! That's, like, so totally interesting, y'know?
1
Never send a European to do an American's job. (In this case, the job would be excessive firepower. Nobody does that like America. ^_^)
1
01:15 - It was ignored because the Ordnance Department was pretty much always opposed to any change in anything throughout its history, as near as I can tell.
1
The thing sounds so weird on the range.
1
Kwaii desu ❤
1
Just lie down on the couch and tell me what's bothering you, Ian. There's no need to torture yourself. <3
1
Nice.
1
What's the purpose of the dummy gun in the holster, rather than the real gun?
1
10 minutes in the Punalty Box.
1
@moonlily701 No I did not. Please edumacate me. :D
1
I don't really consider it nepotism when the beneficiary is actually good at their job.
1
@zyamadeadborn1785 Interesting. We Americans call the M2 Browning "Ma Deuce" in a similar vein. ("Ma" being short for mom/mother and "deuce" being a slang term for the number two, especially in reference to playing cards.)
1
What's wrong with regular low-velocity ammunition? (Seriously asking.)
1
What's the point of a rifle grenade that doesn't go boom? :P
1
I am in favor of whatever prevents the destruction if irreplaceable historical artifacts. A close second is making them easily accessible to serious researchers and enthusiasts.
1
At the very beginning, I thought that was a NSDAP brassard on Ian's arm, and I was just staring dumbstruck. Then he showed the rest of it and I was like "oh, I'm stupid."
1
You want nuance on the Internet? Seriously? SERIOUSLY? 😂
